Park with views and historical landmark. Take an adventure and get lost in the historical graveyard or up to Mary Mountain.

I love coming here to watch the ducks and birds. There is a lot of trails you can do also. It’s a great walk and just nice to listen the birds, owls and occasionally bull frogs making noise. They have a dog run for and playground for the kids. Great place for a picnic and gatherings.

So much to discover here... so many trails, hills, water, open areas. Dog park, picnic areas, ball field, kids play area, bathrooms, soccer area, place to fly your kite, ride bikes, skate. Large parking areas, Fridays farmers market and drive in movie during the summer, beautiful.

This park has it all: plenty of parking, paved paths, forest trails, historic buildings, large fenced dog park, and restrooms. If you have little ones, there is an excellent playground.

I walked for three miles from the Lakewood Transit Center to Fort Steilacoom Park. It's a beautiful park, especially early in the morning.

I just recently attended a Baby Shower at Fort Steilacoom Park and I was quite impressed with the space around each Reserved Space there was ample seating and space for everyone to eat, visit, and play games. I also enjoyed the fact that Public Bathrooms were open and very closely located to the area in which we were celebrating. I would recommend this as a gathering place for other family events in the future!!!

Great park work lots of different components - dog park, historic sites, interpretive areas, remote control boating, and drone flying areas, and running trails. There are sporting events, Summerfest, and other activities here year round. Currently construction at the main entrance so look for the detour signs.

My dog's favorite park. Lots of different dogs on any time of a day you go. Best dog place so far in Washington out of all the other one that I've been.

Love this place! You can walk through fields or woods. You can walk along a paved pathe around the lake. You can even fish or swim in the lake. My dog loves roaming through the brambles in the large off leash park. It's close to home and I'm there at least 6 times a week.

This park is an oasis in the city of Lakewood. The dog park and playground are pretty well-known but not many venture back to the lake. The lake offers beautiful views, and a mile long trail that’s perfect for running or walking. Several people fish. I am not sure if boating is allowed, I don’t often see boats but that could also be because there is not a boat launch or an easy way to haul boat down to the lake. You would have to carry it along the trail. Also not to be overlooked are the red barns. These barns used to be used at Western State mental hospital where patients could learn trades, or just enjoy the therapeutic benefits of working with the land

Great minds think alike my daughter and I took her dogs to the dog park where we met Lizzy and her baby puppy Oakly. Not only did the dogs have a blast the owners and dog grammy got to enjoy, exercise and meet each other. Thank you Fort Steilacoom Park for meeting new dog lovers and friends ❤️ #doglove

Lovely park! Something for everyone. Playground, dog park, baseball & soccer fields, a radio controlled place for planes or drones & covered shelters for picnics. Beyond this park is a walking trail around Waughop Lake. The trail is paved & is a mile round trip. It’s level & very ADA & kid friendly. Lots of parking spaces too.

We love walking around Lake Waughop at Fort Steilacoom Park! The park is huge and accommodates many different activities at the same time. For example, there could be a cross country bicycle race, soccer matches, and softball games, while we enjoy our walk around the lake.

Always an awesome local park regardless of visiting weekdays or weekends as it is so vast it's rarely if ever crowded. We like taking our dogs and riding our bicycles during the autumn to enjoy the fall colors. We Also own a photography business and our clients love shooting their family and HS Senior portraits there!

This place was really cool. Went here for the first time. I guess it's a very popular place for photographers for portraits. Saw so many of them trying to go for the same spot. It was weird looking to me. I loved all the trails though.

I have been taking my son to the Fort Steilacoom Park for about two years now. The playground itself is very spacious and it maintained daily. The baseball/softball fields are also maintained year round. The back of the park has hiking trails that lead to the local Community College. They also have a dog park and stage. In the summers the local communities are always having fun night outs and vendors show out. It's practically like a pop up mall. There will be everything from music to ice cream to massage chairs. Recommend this park 100 percent!!!

Soccer season starts. I get to do walks with my pup. It has an excellent doggy park, and I wanted to check the recent fire. It's a good family park.

Fun when I was younger and fun for my nephew. My favorite walking place would be the lake. It’s about a mile around the lake, if you want you could go up the different trails that can lead to Pierce College or to Chambers Bay.

This is such a spacious off leash park! My dogs absolutely love all of the room to run and find new friends. The people who come to this park are pretty respectful when it comes to cleaning up after their dogs and being in control of dogs which is great.
