WARNING TO SINGLE WOMEN: SCARY EXPERIENCE. The hotel was actually fine; the staff was friendly and efficient and the room was clean and spacious. The breakfast was very nice. The area seemed safe enough when we arrived in daylight hours. However we had a very frightening experience after dark. We arrived back at the hotel after dark and my adult daughter took the dog out for a short evening walk, via the back door. On her way back in via that door, a man was standing by the door and he snuck in right behind her when she swiped her key. He followed her into the hotel and down the corridor to our room. My daughter knocked on our door and when I opened it I saw the strange man standing directly behind her and he was looking into our room. Anybody passing by would have thought they were a couple, he was so close. She rushed in and we closed and barred the door. It was tough to sleep that night; I woke early and spoke to the night clerk who said a man fitting his description had come to the desk demanding a key to our room and saying we were expecting him. When he couldn’t give our names she didn’t give him a key. My other child has lived in Denver for a few years and says it has gotten much sketchier since Covid. Be careful out there.

Room was spacious, the bed was comfy with lots of pillows, the water pressure in the shower was fantastic, the temperature control worked well, good selection of channels on the tv (including Youtube and Netflix!). The room had a coffee maker, fridge, microwave, desk and office chair. It was also a corner room which meant the layout was unique! Breakfast was waffles, bagels, yogurt, cereal, hard boiled eggs, oatmeal and juice/coffee for drinks. Only gripe is that the fitness center only had a half decent treadmill, two broken workout machines and there was a bench but no weights. Still, considering everything met or exceeded my expectations, I won’t hesitate to return!

Tldr: don't stay here, there are better options just down the street for comparable prices. I'd like to start by commending the front desk staff for their kindness and service. However, the overall experience was far below expectations. The first room had a strong urine odor, and while we were moved promptly, the second room had its issues: unclean sheets, a musty bathroom, stained carpet, and a noisy AC unit. The bed was also uncomfortable. It felt more like a budget motel than the price suggests. Not to mentioned that the building is old, and not well maintained.

Room was dirty. A towel was left hanging behind the bathroom door by previous guest. Sink and faucet had not been cleaned nor hair on bathroom floor from previous guest cleaned. Doors, knobs, and air-conditioning unit were grubby. Front desk staff were generally much more interested with their cell phones than being responsive and professional. The location did not work for me, but it could be convenient for others. Very overpriced. We stayed here a number of years ago and it was most satisfactory. Sorry to see things slide downhill so badly. We did wonder if the ground floor is also used as a shelter of some sort.

My recent stay at La Quinta Hotel in Lakewood, Colorado, left me thoroughly disappointed and frustrated due to their mishandling of incidental charges. Upon check-in, I was informed of a $75 hold for incidentals, which is standard practice in many hotels. However, the ordeal began when I noticed the hold lingered on my account longer than expected. After contacting my bank, I discovered that they hadn't received any funds from the hotel despite the hold on my account. Naturally concerned, I reached out to the hotel directly. Their response was alarming - they claimed the hold was reversed the following day, yet there was no evidence of this transaction on my end. The lack of transparency and communication regarding these charges left me feeling cheated and unsettled. Trust is paramount when it comes to financial transactions, especially in the hospitality industry where guests rely on honesty and integrity. Unfortunately, La Quinta Hotel Lakewood failed to uphold these standards. It's disappointing to encounter such unprofessional behavior, as it tarnishes the overall experience and erodes trust in the establishment. For future guests, I strongly advise caution and thorough scrutiny of any incidental charges imposed by this hotel.

I wish I could leave a lower review, to start my husband is and has been a Platinum rewards member with Wyndham for several years and booked a room here using rewards points. The service is horrendous.. spoke to the front desk before arrival to check about earlier check-in and was informed that if would be no issue only to show up and be told that there were no available rooms and that we would have to wait for approximately 2 hours for housekeeping to even show up for the day... While waiting in 31-degree weather for 2 hours (thankfully we did have a little gas to waste to be able to run some heat in our truck🙃) we noticed that the was no security (the front desk said there was a guard who patrolled the PUBLIC PARKING LOT) or any security cameras anywhere on the premise and there were multiple very sketchy looking men filming vehicles in the lot and looking in windows of them as well. Finally, we received the call to check in. Checking in wasn't super horrible however they were still very rude. Once we were able to get to our room we instantly smelled urine and smoke, we proceeded to turn back the sheets and look around just to make sure it wasn't as dirty as it smelled... As we suspected it was there were stains on the mattress and what appears to be bed bugs... We brought the situation with a video that my husband took showing the "bugs" and stains, only to be met with more rude behavior and being told that they would refund our deposit in 7-10 business days... We checked in on a Saturday.... And that we would forfeit the 15,000 points that we used to book the room, and we would have to leave the premise... We tried to even call upper management and corporate to no avail.... I am gravely disappointed that these people are so heartless to leave someone in a situation where they are left in below freezing temperatures..... I suggest going to any of the other hotels in the area, avoid this place at all cost...

Slightly older but rooms spacious and clean. Service wonderful...in regard to supplying soaps, shampoos, towels, coffee etc...not stingy upon request like most I've been too. My transportation showed up very late and they weren't pushy or rude about my late checkout. Plus price wise it was the most affordable out of all other establishments in area.

Would give 0 stars if possible. Our flight was canceled and we had to arrive the next day rather than the night we had originally planned. Called the hotel to inform them of the situation and make sure the room was not no-showed/canceled. Was assured by three different staff that they would make sure the room was not canceled and that we could check in the morning we got there. Mind you, the room was already paid for ahead of time. Arrived the next morning to check in and was informed our room was no-showed because we did not check in by 2am the previous night. So, the staff just lied and left us stranded without the room we paid for. Lying, incompetent, and rude staff. Avoid this hotel at all costs.

Rooms are what you might expect for the price but most include a microwave and little fridge and coffee maker. Staff are friendly and helpful(tip: if you book through a third party you'll pay a $75 deposit that is returned at checkout, but booking through the hotel there is no deposit). Try to get a room on the south side of the bldg cause the highway is loud and the parking is cramped on the north side of the lot. Haven't had anyone mess with our vehicles either even the night we had a leaf blower and an expensive ladder strapped to the truck overnight.

My room was clean but I was not impressed otherwise. I was there for a work trip by myself (31 year old female) and when I checked in the clerk read all of my information out loud (address, phone, full name) and asked "You're checking in by yourself right?" This is very unprofessional and very unsafe as there were probably 10 men in the lobby right by the check in area. The whole third floor wreaked of Marijuana from the time I checked in until I left but when I let the night clerk know the only thing she said was "unless we know what room it's in we can't do anything." Lastly the "HOT DELICIOUS BREAKFAST" as advertised on their website consisted of overly cooked hardboiled eggs, strawberry yogurt and hard muffins. The doors are hard to open even with a key and the back door is damaged and closes but doesn't lock... unfortunately after reading the other reviews it seems this has been an issue for a while now that has continued to not be addressed.

During my stay for a work project, the hotel is adequate if you're needing to drop in for work and come back to rest. What the hotel is not adequate for is providing a hot breakfast, blaming the homeless for why the laundry facilities are persistently closed (see owner not ensuring maintenance is done on laundry equipment, let alone replacing it), staff not being readily present at the desk nor maintaining any sort of dress code. The internet provided is okay if all you're doing is browsing or streaming a show, beyond that it is best if you hotspot off your cellphone if you need to upload work in a timely manner, otherwise expect your uploads to happen over night to be done before the next day's business begins. Other guests will be loud, smoke pot, bring undisciplined pets, leave their pets in their rooms to bark and make noise throughout the day, and in general be marginally fair mannered neighbors during the stay. In short, if work books you here while you're out on a job, it is what it is. If you're looking to say for vacation or other reasons, choose to stay if the price is right, otherwise if working facilities, access to laundry, and hot breakfast is what you want, pay a little more and stay elsewhere.

Checked the night before, but only the main sheets. Woke up with small clusters of bites on my chest. One trademark bite on my chest looks like bed bugs. I tried to avoid a skanky motel by going to a La Quinta and ended up at the skankiest motel I've been too. Absolutely terrible experience, I'm honestly impressed just how bad they are here. Before booking I called the hotel and asked for information about check-in and check-out time. Confirmed upon check-in about check-out time the next day. Next morning I am informed that the employee from last night was still "in training" and that the information was incorrect and no, they couldn't move check out time just one hour past the normal time even though I was told they could and that's what I based my booking on. This hotel doesn't care at all about you as a customer, you should spend your money elsewhere. Also they don't have a fitness center, that's a complete lie. There's no weights, one half working treadmill, and one manual lifecycle. Blatant false advertising to people who pick hotels based on amenities. My only hope is corporate cares enough about their image to do something to help out these customers that have been screwed over by this place.

So my family came on vacation to visit me and it was the worst visit I experienced with them. - My sisters key weren’t working from the beginning, after a long day she calls me, stressed telling me she’s tired and just wants to get inside. The staff KNOWS the doors get jammed and keys don’t work ( since they told my sister the doors are fidgety, you have to know how to open them the staff said) if the staff knows how the doors are why haven’t they replaced them and brought it up to hiring management?? I saw 4 people complaining they couldn’t get into the rooms, it’s sad seeing old people having to wait to get in like that, I’m not being mean, I am very humble and understanding but this place was unacceptable, I’ve had very bad hotels and this was one of them. - Wack breakfast, , they advertise hot DELICIOUS breakfast, in reality you get a muffin and STALE coffee. - clean?? Sanitized ? No, right as soon as we walked in there was hair all over on the bed I have to give it that the staff was helpful, but the building structure and the way things were ran were not the best. Wont recommend to anyone unless you want to be annoyed, kicked out of your own room, or don’t care about the breakfast. 😌

The woman at the desk early Sunday morning was pleasant and went out of her way. 5-star. The rooms were spacious and nice, but beds were more narrow than expected and TV smaller than most hotels. 4-star. No room service done the 2nd day we were there. We only stayed 2 nights. Beds not bad, towels not replaced, trash not taken out. 1-star. Outdoor pool but no hot tub.

Absolutely the best choice in Denver Area. Clean, efficient service by employees. Great parking on-site. Outdoor pool AOK with us. Breakfast good waffles 🧇 good coffee, hardboiled 🥚 eggs.

Clean, comfy, great rates! Breakfast area nice, wish we could have used the pool, small but nice patio and nobody used it. Breakfast area nice and roomy. Lots of hotels they are obscure but not here. Nice night lady on duty. Regarding some other reviews I mention the following. Poorer but not ghetto part of town makes for great rates. Never felt unsafe, but I'm used to a least medium city living. Driving into the heart of Denver wasn't too bad, great interstate system makes it convenient for whatever you want to visit. Besides who can afford downtown Denver hotel rates!

Place was not very accessible. Gross rooms. There was doors that were supposed to be locked that were not secured at all and there were doors by the handicap parking that you couldn't access at all. The accessible rooms were not cleaned by check in time and were the last to be cleaned 45 minutes later. They offered a non-accessible room to get me checked in on time, but I needed an accessible room. The staff was not accommodating to me needing accessible rooms and parking. The hallway had a clump of hair stuck on the ceiling. The bathroom had black dots so over the ceiling. The staff was rude, discriminatory towards me as a visibly disabled person, and was the worst customer service. Will not recommend this place to anyone, especially anyone who needs an accessible hotel.

Room had a strong smell of cigarettes and there was a shower cap rubber banded over the smoke detector in the room. Was told there was no other rooms available. Staff was pleasant; rating directly reflects the room.

  • 1/5 Theodore V. 5 months ago on Google
I would give this place a negative 5 if I could. First of all, my first room was INFESTED with bed bugs and was moved rooms. They didn't even comp me a night or anything. Next, I went to the front desk to ask for new towels bringing down my old ones. The guy at the front desk freaked out because there was a little bit of my girlfriends hairdye on the towel. He proceeded to kick us out because of this after we had just paid for another 3 days. He gave us 1 hour to leave. I was very distraught about this. We had 1 hour to find a new room and more money because they didn't refund us due to the towels. I will never stay here again or recommend anybody stay here.

Got ripped off a whole night, can hear every noise from four rooms down and above me from my hotel room. And the fat girl behind the desk was rude asl.Ik it’s rude to call people fat but she had it coming. The breakfast is alright but u can’t expect much more from a 3 star hotel,Soap was sticky and smelt like glue. And the other lady behind the desk was sick as a dog And lastly I got put out a day early because their staff can’t communicate with each other. In no way should I have to suffer because your own employee gave me a deal.I didn’t force him to do it.So if it’s your mess up why do I have to pay for it.Literally

Came for a quick overnight, and it met our needs. Definitely needs some maintenance and upkeep to the building itself, but nothing too drastic. The shower curtain rod in our room was broken, so the curtain wouldn't stay closed, but otherwise the beds were comfortable and everything else was functional. Breakfast was pretty basic, cereal, muffins, etc. In a little bit more run down area of town, but never felt unsafe. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall, worth the price paid.

Warm friendly staff nice rooms and great with my granddog... I especially want to give a huge thank you to the whole staff (Ari the most) but the whole staff we booked just one night at 2:00 in the morning after the horror that greeted us at the La Quinta in Golden Colorado where our original reservation was but we refused to stay because it was so incredibly disgusting.. They made room for us welcomed us so warmly let us park our car right in front of the hotel so we didn't have to unpack and they could watch our car so we could get some sleep. The room was so incredibly clean and comfortable and the next morning the coffee ☕ and breakfast 🥞 was so wonderful that we turned one day into three. We recovered from our nightmare experience at Golden and got to know most of the staff by name they were so kind and caring and welcoming and understanding and friendly and incredible best La Quinta ever thank you to all of you. In my book you deserve 20 stars...

Had a reservation and called that morning to confirm it would still be there. When we arrived at 11PM, they told us that all rooms were occupied because rooms become first-come, first-serve at 3PM, so they had given our room to someone else. Since check in is 3PM, it seems like reservations mean nothing. If you plan to stay, would advise calling on the way to make sure your room is still available.

Exactly what you'd expect from a La Quinta. For the most part, no complaints. Bed was really large and comfortable. Great pillows. This can be really hit or miss at hotels. Some weird and/or flawed design. Really odd double doors to the bathroom. No ceiling fan in the bathroom. Huh? How is this even up to code? All that moisture with nowhere to vent it? Biggest disappointment was the severe lack of coffee supplied to the room. Single serve Keurig with only 3 total K cups, one of them being decaf and nothing else. Not even the cheap, gross sugar and chemical creamer powder. Maybe this was just an oversight. It was fine. For the convenience to the Denver metro area and the price, we'd have no issue booking here again .

O M GAWD! If I could give this Wonderful Hotel a "10" rating I would. I got an executive room (no extra chg) and was it so nice. Clean? Jeez I should be so clean with my own home. The staff was great. The breakfast was plentiful and lots of COFFEE!😊 If I ever get back to this area of Denver I'll be staying here! Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

I was going to Extended Stay but they were filled up. La Quinta was next door and they had available rooms. I needed a room because I had my cat with me. I never would have thought La Quinta is pet-friendly. And my cat loved the room. The sound was down to a minimal. Thank you for the one night stay!

I stayed 2 nights here with my dog. It was very clean, and mostly quiet. Only issues were a few loud inconsiderate guests, but I blame their parents for that, not the hotel. Staff was also very friendly and professional. I would 100% stay here again if passing through, a good place to get some rest.

This location is getting pretty run down (torn wallpaper, dinged walls, dirty carpet). A sign is posted in the elevator that housekeeping is permanently suspended. So, if you want your room cleaned, you can put it on the list at the front desk, but no guarantees. Upon entering the room, the beds were made, but the sheets almost seemed used, not fresh and crisp; the carpet also seemed dirty and was not vacuumed. Breakfast was very minimal...toast, bagels, cereal, yogurt, boiled eggs, coffee and juice. On a positive note, the front desk staff was helpful and pretty friendly.

Horrible. When we got our first room, the thermostat was broken. The staff asked "Did you fidget with it a little". We got a new room, this ones bathroom doors don't shut. The elevator is creaky and unstable, smells bad and has stains. The only positive is the lobby is pretty

We came in on a Saturday and the next day requested a new room because of the room arrangement. Madison was soooooo nice and helpful; excellent people skills. She went beyond helping us and I hope her Manager reads this review. This was our 2nd time coming to this hotel because of the location close to Red Rocks. It is a VERY safe area and the hotel is well maintained and clean. We will come here again for our next concert at Red Rocks!!!

Sub par for La Quinta, they don't clean the room unless your staying more than 2 nights even then you have to schedule it. If you want fresh towels you have to take the dirty one's to the front desk and exchange. No hot breakfast at all , not even the waffle they advertise, cold boiled egg, and very basic contenental. Walls are so thin you hear your neighbors. Beds were a smaller full size at best as well as pillows. Rather have stayed at motel6 and purchased breakfast, for what we paid here I could have stay 2 extra nights

Avoid this hotel at all costs if you value safety, cleanliness, and your money. Absolutely horrendous. Hotel ignored requests on reservation. TV, AC, and wifi did not work. No cleaning services, hotel smelled. Had to switch rooms and the new one contained a potential used sex clean up towel beside the bed. Complained to Wyndham for a refund who said this hotel meets their standards which tells you all you need to know about how Wyndham operates.

Had an excellent stay at this La Quinta. Both my pets were welcome and I was in the middle of moving from one residence to another. It was clean, quiet, and the breakfast assortment was decent and great coffee. Really enjoyed my stay.

Horrible customer service. At first it was check in time at about 3pm, lady helped me really nice and sweet and I paid for two nights, got my key and left then I came later at night The guy that attended me for assistance was in a terrible mood and talking back and arguing and got angry because I asked if he could check my room to see if anyone was there since my key wasn’t working & door wouldn’t open, this happened at like 1am and he was telling me things like why am I arriving so late why didn’t I check my room earlier and that I woke him up just for this. None of that should matter I just needed assistance with my room key. Etc. would not recommend go spend the extra bucks at comfort inn which is next to this mess. Hate to have to rate so low due to one person everything else was great but the way this staffer treated me is beyond terrible and ruined the whole stay experience

I have never stayed in a worse hotel!!!!! There was a clerk that should not have a job interacting with customers! Maybe keep her behind closed doors. She was rude, mean, and tried to shift blame onto her coworkers for her mistake. My original reservation was for 2 nights. When I checked in they said they could not accept that card. Why? I don’t know but I gave them another card. I checked my bank accounts and they charged both cards but different amounts! Real funny business!! I needed 2 more nights because my father was in the ICU. The night team specifically Aubrey absolutely wonderful! She got me set up for 2 more nights. I get a phone call at noon from the most evilest woman saying to come get my belongings. My dad was literally in surgery. I said I paid for 2 more nights. She would not let me speak kept yelling in the phone to come back to the hotel!! I came back, grabbed my things and went straight to the lobby to turn in my keys and ask for a refund. I asked to speak to the manager because she was acting like I didn’t pay for 2 extra nights. She replied with let me explain. Absolutely not!!! I just wanted to get back to the hospital! She said please let me explain. I said give me a refund because hello I need to get back to the hospital!!!!!! She charged me an additional $60 for a late checkout! I wouldn’t be checking out late if you would’ve checked your computer system!! I ask for the manager she replied she is new. She’s new so she can’t help her guests!!!!! Seriously!!! What a joke! 4 days later I call the lovely night team (Aubrey) just to find out that the woman had not even started my refund!!!! Thank you so much Aubrey for your help!

Our clothes were drenched from the red rocks concert, the one dryer that worked wasn't available until 3:30 am but we didn't have a choice & to stay awake & wait. Carpet soaked in many areas, towels we put on the floor turned brown. Disgusting.

The hotel was great. Wish the AC stayed on all night and the lighting fixture situation was a bit weird but it was clean and staff was incredible. I had a comfortable, clean room and a lovely stay. The address was not showing up right on my map however and I got lost accidentally ended up at another La Quinta. I don't know if this is a unique experience. Loved it there! Nice and quiet and right next to accessible bus routes

This is a hotel that you choose for the location... It's not the newest or the nicest hotel in the area, but it was clean and the people who work there were very friendly. The breakfast, since covid, at most places is not the same and that's true here also. Worst thing was that you couldn't use the toaster and the microwave at the same time, which meant that strangers sitting in the communal dining area had to learn how to cooperate and work together. There's really nothing wrong with that as long as you're in the space with good people and we were! So once the toaster was free and no one was using the microwave, breakfast moved along well. I do have to say ....don't microwave the styrofoam bowls!!! They will melt and I hope that someone at La Quinta sees this and does something about it!! Really styrofoam is no good for something like this! The woman who managed the breakfast was very very friendly but she couldn't do anything about it! So best of luck to this La Quinta and thanks for letting us stay there!

Hotel staff are lousy and do not care about their customers or what they think. The keycards we got barely worked on any of the various doors of the building and our door would not fully shut. Paid for a 2 bed and only got a 1 bed room. Room was musty and had a smell. Go somewhere else if you can.
