It's a really cool lake that has swimming, paddleboarding, canoeing, kayaking etc. You can rent any of those and they have free lifevests for kids because everyone who is on a boat has to have a lifevest. No motorboats allowed, just paddleboats. They have a lined off kiddy area and you can find some cool rocks here! There are some gardener snakes in the waters but we didnt see any until after the sun had set. Gorgeous views though, and the park ranger there was super cool and helpful! Will return many more times this summer!

Very pretty. You can rent a canoe, kayak, paddle board or bring your own. There's swimming in the summer too.

It is a nice lake with a man made beach. Great for paddle boarding with friends like we did. $10 admission fee is reasonable. The parking lots for Soda Creek were full by 12 though. The only negative thing I can say about the place is the mosquitoes. OMG, there were a lot. So along with your sunscreen, bring the bug spray!

Soda Lake Beach is an amazing get away. Super close to home but you still feel like you're getting away. Everyone is pretty nice and easy going here too. My wife and I come here often weather it be swimming fishing or hiking. Sometimes i grab some snacks and just head over to have a little picnic.

This place is amazing but CROWDED on weekends, you better get there early to find a good spot to park your car and your butt on the beach.

A fun beach with sweet mountain views for relaxing, cooling off in the summer, and building sand castles! Be careful in the family section as there are a lot of rocks so tread carefully! It's also $10 for a day pass at the front entrance to Bear Creek Lake Park.

Bear Creek. Nice friendly environment. Open spacious areas. Love coming here with my family to enjoy a cookout BBQ or even some Carne Asada. $10 daily admission per vehicle. You can rent tubings / paddle boards etc. Check this place out.

Everytime I come here it's fun, the water is clear does get crowded but once your on the water life gets better, 10$ a day, but worth it even if it's packed, cause the view is amazing

From the online pictures you'd think that this was a remote beach. It is not. It was a beach party with a ton of people. Which is all fine if that is what you're expecting. We rented a cable and paddleboards, which were really fun. It was hard not to bump into people it was so crowded on the water. You are not allowed to swim outside of the beach area, which kind of sucked. Very pretty views of the mountains though.

We have gotten the yearly pass ($80) and gone paddle boarding with the kids. You have to get there early if you want a good spot and start out without many people. Beach is clean and nicely marked off for the kids to swim. Several entry points to get paddle boards in. We typically leave early afternoon when the crowds start and get packed. Would recommend!

This is a fun option for kids to hang out and have a fun, safe place to swim! It's still a reservoir, so keep an eye on littles or weak swimmers. Dogs are not allowed on sandy area and must be on a leash at all times. Costs $10 to park. Credit cards are accepted. Paddle boards and boats are available to rent with life jackets provided (required for minors).

The Soda lake water is so beautiful! So clear and soft. One of the best places in Colorado to paddle board. Expect a crowd but it's worth it

I love this place!!! The beach area and swimming areas are wonderfully maintained. Lots of space, some shade, lots of tables. Clean restrooms. Life preservers free to use for all kids. Park rangers that are friendly and easy going. Rentals on paddle boards, kinda pricey. Best part? $10 for a vehicle load. Last year, I had 9 13 & 14 year olds. Ten bucks. No, really. $10. Whaaaaaatttt. Been back lots since it's only ten freaking dollars. NOTHING IS ONLY 10 DOLLARS IN 2022!!!

Sandy Beach for the kids to run around on a full playground bathrooms barbecues , they have to whole set up ❀️ I've been coming here for years 10$ for a daily pass to the park (per vehicle) And it's more than worth it!

Best Saturday beach party every weekend during the summer! Get here early and get a spot. We brought stand up paddle boards and paddled all over the lake. There were so many other people paddle boarding, kayaking, and swimming having a great time. Don't expect a wide open quite time here, come for the party and bring you shade.

I used to live near here and I would always drive by and think oh people look like they're having fun maybe I should stop there sometime. But in all my years living in the area I never did. This weekend I finally gave it a try because I knew Chatfield was going to be overloaded and I just didn't want to deal with that level of crowd. I was looking for something a little more toned down so thankfully I chose Soda Lake Beach which is part of Bear Lake State Park. Unfortunately is not covered by the state park pass that you get with your registration now and I'm not sure why but that was my first disappointment. And then my second disappointment would be that it smelled kind of rank. And I have been places with an algae outbreak that smelled way worse so it's not like that but it does smell like a stagnant pond I guess. It was a lot less populated compared to Chatfield so that was cool and then you can drive around a little bit after but there's not much to see or do unless you bring stuff to barbecue or you are going to kayak or you want to horseback ride things like that might make it more entertaining for you. And then it was kind of weird to see the highway from the lake. I don't know. I'm not sure I will be back maybe I will just brave the crowds at Chatfield next time haha. Or go up farther into the mountains and get away from the crowds and the traffic. I think it would be way cooler if you lived closer then maybe it would be worth it. But I went on a bit of a drive to come so I just feel like that might be a one and done kind of a thing for me. The coolest thing that I experienced that day was that the geese were really interested in me. I think they hoped that I had some food or maybe they were attracted to the colors I was wearing. Or I'm probably just a Goose Whisperer that's the obvious answer lmao. But it's also kind of sad because they are looking for food which means that they are not living life as they should naturally and it could cause them difficulty finding food if they don't have access to human snaxx in the future. Que sera sera. But I would recommend it if you live closer by or if you have some water sports you are trying to do that might make it more fun. Or if you enjoy watching the traffic on the highway and you laugh at the people who are stuck in their car as you are relaxing maybe that makes it cool. Lol.

My favorite beach close to home πŸ’• This park is so well maintained and always beautiful. We love packing a lunch and spending the day paddle boarding with views of the rocky mountains and Red Rocks. The lake is small, but that means no boats, clear water, and a hidden sand jetty πŸ˜‰ It's always a good day at Bod Soda!
