Outstanding. Wonderful warm welcome of tea, coffee & homemade muffins served in the lounge. Beautifully large bedroom. Spotlessly clean. So many little thoughtful extras ranging from toiletries in bathroom. Savoury snacks & chocolate bars & fridge in bedroom. Superb delicious breakfast with wide choice.

Mel gave us a warm welcome and showed us to our spotlessly clean and comfortable room. She had made sure there was vegan friendly milk and snacks for us. The bathroom was stocked with lovely products for us to use. Breakfast was an incredibly generous and delicious meal. We walked from the guest house into the village for dinner along a wonderful canal. Such a beautiful location! Well worth a visit!

Mel was a wonderful host, welcoming us on arrival with tea/coffee & yummy cake. Superb room & facilities. There was nothing Mel hadn't thought if, every little detail was amazing. Sadly we were only here for one night while passing through but will be looking to staying for longer very soon. Fab-u-lous it's a 10 from us x

Absolutely lovely overnight stay. Tea/coffee and cakes on arrival and a warm welcome from Mel. Large comfortable room with quality products and complimentary chocolates, biscuit and nibbles. Well stocked refreshment tray. Beautiful surroundings and lovely doorstep walks. Delicious breakfast with plenty of choice. Spotlessly clean and Covid safe environment. Faultless.

Just a one night stay for myself and my husband, to get away from it all for 24 hours. Capernwray House did not disappoint. Mel was a wonderful host, such a lovely, friendly lady, making us feel welcome from the moment of booking, and such a wonderful cook! We had such a lovely, peaceful and homely experience. The room was gorgeous with the most wonderful view. We had a warm welcome on arrival with coffee and cake. Nothing was too much trouble for Mel. And an exceptional breakfast which set us up for a big walk the next morning. I would not hesitate to stay here again. Thank you! 🤗

The venue warrants 5 stars alone! We were very warmly greeted by the host, Mel. She showed us around the venue and introduced us to our room. We were offered tea or coffee after our journey. This was presented beautifully, together with homemade cakes. These were absolutely delicious. The really nice touch for.me was the bone China crockery and fantastic coffee. Our room was enormous and spotlessly clean and was equipped with plentiful, very high end products both in the bathroom and for making our own drinks with. The bed was huge and very comfortable. Breakfast was as well simply amazing. Stunning tea and coffee served in a Bodum of which there was unlimited quantity. The cooked breakfast was simply delicious with zero grease on my plate. The toast and preserves fabulous. The fresh fruit salad stunning, all served in a delightful dining area in a totally relaxed atmosphere. Would I recommend this venue,. with a massive big fat yes I would.

We had a lovely 2 night break. Very comfortable room. Excellent host in Mel. Ideal location to explore the area , but quiet enough not to have a disturbed stay. Happily recommend it and would stay again on our next visit to the area.

Loved it here. Excellent room, nice view & a brilliant choice of breakfast. Strictly B&B, but information given for local eateries. I didn't arrive until 8pm which wasn't an issue, but I did advice in advance.

Love Caperwray House! Mel is a wonderful hostess, her rooms are lovely and clean, spacious and comfy. You are greeted with a tray of tea or coffee and a cake! Mel's breakfast selection is amazing, and nothing is too much trouble. The views from the house over the countryside are stunning, and the grounds of the property are nicely kept by Mel. If you want a peaceful getaway, this is it! Windermere and Kirkby Lonsdale are but a short drive away and Carnforth Brief Encounter Railway Station is a must. We will return again.
