You can climb the apron for about 15 minutes in reference and stairs or take the cable car from the center which leaves you almost outside the castle. From above you can see the whole city and You can relax in the garden or there is a cafeteria to sit. It has toilets, relatively clean.

Well, nice to visit once and only during the season, otherwise everything is closed. But the view is very nice. Maybe could be a place for a family picnic during the summer.

A beautiful and peaceful historic castle, the observation deck of the surrounding garden is the best place to have a panoramic view of all the beautiful scenery. The facilities inside this garden park are well-maintained and there is a clean toilet with wide space available for tourists near the entrance to the castle. Because of the limited time, I have no opportunity to enter the castle for viewing. In addition, it should be noted that there are only limited parking lots along the hill pathway around the castle. If you visit on weekends or national holidays, there is a high chance that you will not be able to find a vacancy in the parking lot area and detour to other parking spaces nearby the old street.

This is beautiful view place in Heidelberg city. Every one has to visit at least once. Nice view towards hills and city view. Zigzag roads to the top of hill. Parking is free in top of the hill.

Stunning views of Heidelberg as well as the castle ruins. Very peaceful early before the crowds. If you're ambitious you can even walk up from town. Look for the green parakeets.

I was very disappointed by this "garden". I expected some plants, flowers, or other ornaments. There is nothing except grass. The view from it is incredible but this is not a castle garden.

There's nothing much on garten. Very few flowers. But the view from the garten is breathtaking. You can enjoy the view of the city, river and the hills.

Interesting Castle. Lot of walking inside castle and nice scenery with Neckar River and bridge view. With the Bergbahn ticket, you can take a 2 minute Bahn drive up/down the mountain and also access to go inside castle includes balcony, Apotheke museum etc. have a pleasant day in castle.

Excellent place. Very well allocated, super clean, nice service, delicious breakfast and close to public transport (you can reach old town in max 15 min). I really dont understand bad reviews. Probably a bunch of Karens

Constructed on the mountains. A big castle with thickenss of the walls may be above 5 feets

Although a great place to relax and chill, the gardens are really disappointing in terms of being castle gardens - it's just like a normal city park just at a higher elevation, so you have some nice views of the castle buildings and the city. If you go there expecting intricate gardens (like in most palaces) with flowers and such - walk away, you won't find them here.

Awesome garden for a walk. I visited during an autumn rainy day and it was still beautiful.

On one of the information boards you can see how majestic the original gardens would have been in its heyday. But let that take nothing away from the amazing views of the town. In my opinion THE best views of Heidelberg. And it's free. So if you don't have time and/or money, skip the Koenigstuhl, skip the entrance fee of the castle, and come straight here. It's not much of a garden now, but at least you still get peace and quiet, away from all the tourists at the castle entrance and at Elisabethentor, who don't know what they're missing out on.

Very beautiful historic place, with special atmosphere. To feel it more fully better go to the garden from the town by foot because by the way you will see many incredible views to the castle.

City view. Beautiful garden inside the castle. River. Bridge. Fortress with a view.

Really cool place to go. From this view, you can see 80% of all best places to go in Heidelberg. I really loved it. The view, its air and atmosphere were really awesome. We plan to go to König Stuhl next time. It was the only thing we could not see fron there. Only cons would be parking lots. It is difficult to find one on weekends and also tooo expensive. 1€ per 20 minutes of parking.

Relax and chill. The castle looked so classic and unique by its collapsing part.
