One of the best views for a Cafe and great coffee... The food is decent and is fine for the prices, which are not very extravagant. It was easy to get a table here on a weekday. Anyone who visits the peak should spend time at the cafe for a breather and appreciate the view and the weather.

What a beautiful view from this place. The food was fresh, delicious and well presented. Customer service was excellent, with a very relaxed and extremely friendly approach. They speak multiple languages so not having command of the German language is not a problem. My family and I are happy to come back. Please note that the outdoor area is not smoker free so if you have issues with cigarette smoke, it is better to sit inside.

The potato soup is fantastic. My friends also extremely liked the schnitzels. The cakes were all excellent. The food and view really goes well together. The after hike satisfaction is unmatched. It’s a wonderful place for a family lunch. The service is very friendly and the staff is very polite and nice. Will always keep going back every time I hike up there.

The hike up is quite difficult in the snow but the view from top is worth it. Would definitely recommend it all year long and even better on sunny day with clear skies. There's a Café on the top beside the ropeway station which has a scenic dining place and fast service with menu ranging from Coffee, Wine to Pommes and Pastries.

A very nice restaurant on top of the Schauinsland! After taking a cable car to the top and walking around, we were happy to find this restaurant for our lunch :) The food was excellent and the staff is so friendly. Menu is in German, French and English. The black forest cake is yummy!

There was beautiful views of Freiburg from the cable car. It takes around 20 minutes to travel up. At the top there is a restaurant. From there you can walk to an old mine ( I think it does tours on sundays) or there is an old farm house. These are a 20-30 minute walk. There is a tree top observation tower as well.

Beautiful and nice location. Not too crowded and perfect for a day trip if you are somewhere around Black Forest. There is "Cafe and Restaurant" too, which serves great food. A must visit place ❤️

Great food, excellent service and depending on where you sit a good view as well. Friendly staff. Good vegetarian options as well. You are allowed to take your dog in.

Amazing views, friendly staff, and tasty food left everyone happy with our light lunch snack here. Maybe the flammekucken (sp?) Was a bit too heavy on the onions. But everything else was great.

The view is absolutely amazing and makes this totally worth the trip. The food was food and typical to the region. We took the gondola to get to the restaurant and you can do some hiking once you're up there.

Good quality food we had schnitzel and pumpkin soup. Drinks were ok also. Seating outside was catered for with shawls or small blankets to keep customers warm in winter...

You should go to Bergstation if you visit Freiburg. Nature, forest, fresh air. The cable car takes about 16 minutes one way and 3300 meters. Enjoy it :) You should take number 2 tram and get off it at the last station. Then you take number 21 bus.

This place is amazing! You won't regret going. I've been twice so far and will go again! I went for the views (amazing!) but the restaurant staff are very friendly, helpful, efficient, quick, everything! You feel so welcome! The food is delicious, with lots of options, even for veggie and vegan and allergies! You get big portions for the price! I 100% recommend a visit.

Great and typical Freiburg experience to go up with the Schauinslandbahn and then enjoy breakfast at this place, you can buy a ticket that includes the ride up plus the "all you can eat" breakfast (29 euros up and down plus breakfast, 26 euros one way ride plus breakfast). The food is amazing and the service is wonderful, don't miss the amazing views all around. Very recommended.
