Amazing, high quality hotel, excellent and beyond customer service and care, fantastic facilities and spa - not a single complaint! Whether a romantic getaway, an extended relaxed stay, or a quick stop by, this is the only hotel I will ever come to in Heidelberg. Aside from it’s stunning interior and surroundings, the rooms are highly equipped, clean, spacious, and up to the standard of 5* luxury. Beds equipped remote controls, toilet and shower area (with two sinks) separate, featuring posh furniture and great windows. Room service always fast and excellent, providing me with a tea kettle and bags upon request. Restaurant has incredibly food, with knowledgeable waiters and excellent cooks. Breakfast buffet has literally everything, and if it doesn’t, 99% of the time if you ask the staff will fulfill your dietary request. The spa facility is great. Rooftop pool, saunas, and a terrace with outdoor shower. Amenities are all modern and clean, and the spa procedures are magnificent and definitely worth it. I had a facial and my specialist was not only competent, but left me with a plethora of information I still use today to care for my skin. I cannot speak more highly of the staff and quality of customer service. Owners of the hotel are around and casually greet guests and engage in conversation, and every staff member was always making sure we not only had everything we needed, but even arrange for things they didn’t have upon special request. They really go the extra mile here, this hotel is the epitome of a luxury, moneys-worth experience, one of the best stays we’ve ever had!

Great hotel in the middle of Heidelberg. Clean and tasteful furnishing and competent service. The area of the hotel is pleasant enough to enjoy a drink outside. An ideal spot for important events, particularly the food is great. Overall a very good stay which I would recommend to everyone who can afford it.

Everything about this hotel was really good. Especially the staff is beyond friendly and happy to help with anything you might ask for. The spa is quite small and during Corona you have to book time slots, with the positive effect that you have the place for 1,5 hours on your own. Unfortunately one of the two restaurants was closed during our stay. But the one restaurant left was still very good and had a great wine selection. The only downside was that they charged the parking lot, which was, compared to the price a bitter taste at the end. Though all in all I can still recommend this hotel.

Wasn't impressed by the condition of this hotel. The restaurant was very expensive and not worth it at all, we were disappointed with the dining experience. The food LOOKED good but lacked flavor and quality. The balcony views are not exciting, but the room was nice. The pool area was nice and an outdoor lounge area was nice. The people at the front desk were terrific! There is a restaurant called Vetters in town that was fantastic authentic German food.

This hotel was amazing- the service, friendliness, cleanliness, comfort, everything was amazing. The breakfast in the morning was top notch. We wouldnt dream of staying anywhere else in the city- highly recommend.

Simply the best! Immaculately clean, Instant service, comfortable beds, great water pressure in the shower, spacious, Idyllic setting in great location, great workout in gym, amazing concierge with influence at local restaurants, fantastic linens and towels and pillows, met the owner Caroline von Kretschmann in the hotel restaurant. Only downside was toilet paper which was like cardboard- same as every other hotel in EU!!!

Beautiful hotel with excellent service! Loved our stay here and would definitely come back. We traveled with our baby and everyone was very friendly and accommodating.

My wife and I stayed here May 25th - 31st. Words can not describe the quality of service given from the professional staff. This beautiful place is amazing. Food was spectacular. Location is perfect, easy access to the town center and public transportation. Room was spotless, bed and bedding top notch. We will be back very soon. Thanks to all the staff. M & J Dorsey.

This is a late review but one that’s worth posting. Hotel Europäischer Hof is the quintessential European hotel where old world hospitality meets modern amenities. We stayed for two night in May and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is located near the old town pedestrian only shopping area and it’s also right next to a great parking garage that we can park our car conveniently and safely for two nights. Parking is charged directly to the hotel bill which is quite convenient! During our stay, we were able to walk to anywhere from the hotel without the need to use a car. The front desk staff is super helpful and when we had an overcharge with a local restaurant due to credit card conversion error, they went out of their way to call the restaurant during the off hours and arranged to have the credits applied to our hotel bill. Thank you Jennifer M for making the calls to the restaurant and coming up with a very thoughtful plan. We highly recommend this hotel for its hospitality, location, and world class services!

Traditional/historical hotel which is very well maintained with good quality rooms and excellent service. The spa area is lovely and the location is very convenient for a stroll through the city centre. Overall we had a lovely stay and will definitely come again when travelling by car to more southern Europe.

The staff serving breakfast make the breakfast taste even better! Their service is top class. Led by the lovely Antje, you are served very fresh food and the croissants are freshly baked which makes a massive difference for us pastry lovers. The big surprise is when the owner of the hotel greets you at the buffet breakfast. This really impressed me. She is elegant, warm and is sometimes accompanied by her also charming daughter. This hotel brings the service and class of the 70's to the modern times while also offering you a multitude of luxuries. thank you. I will be returning on my next trip

Absolutely wonderful hotel. We enjoyed the classic atmosphere because it felt homely. We slept very well and everything was perfectly fresh and clean. The service was top notch especially Sebastian at the front desk was such a kind gentleman. He took care of everything while we relaxed in the waiting room because we were very tired from our long trip. Our stay at this hotel was definitely a pleasure from the beginning to the end. Cheers :)

This family run hotel is the best hotel I’ve stayed. Very friendly staff especially Luca and Manuel. The restaurant staff could not help you anymore. The cleaners are amazing. The bar staff make you feel welcome and front desk are out of this world. As a first time to Germany my husband and I would return. Thank you so much to all the team for making us feel welcome.

A wonderful hotel, the rooms well furnished, equipped with everything a guest needs. Cleanliness everywhere. Small details like the cupcakes, fruit and chocolates with a welcome card in room show that here the guest is a king. Very good mattresses and high quality bed linen and duvets ensure a good night's sleep. The service from all staff is second to none, professional and always attentive. Excellent location, central to the old town. Very good restaurant. Great spa and gym. I love the Hotel Europäischer Hof and I am looking forward to my next stay.

An opulent Hotel with a really nice charm to it along with a team dedicated to a positive customer experience and stay. Upon arrival it started with a very warm & welcoming check-in process through the main reception area. The information is explained perfectly and getting our bearings of the Hotel layout are made easy. The rooms are huge in size as a whole with high ceilings and well appointed ammenity wise. Very comfortable beds, and very quiet. We had a really nice dinner and drinks in the Bar / Lounge area as we'd arrived later to the Hotel than intended and the staff there were terrific to deal with. Whilst not overly busy at the time we were there, they gave us the right amount of attention to assist and gave us space to unwind and enjoy. The breakfast was as expected, decent in size and plenty of offerings both from the buffet style or menu should you wish to order something seperate. Overal, the opulance and history of this Hotel is enough to keep you engaged. You can see & feel the charm and warmth right throughout. You can wander the main halls and rooms beyond the reception & lobby area and simply be in awe of how fascinating this place is. Staff were always on hand and welcoming and everyone was more than happy to make sure we were ok and being looked after. As a normal family travelling through Europe on holiday this type of customer service is what makes for a great stay. Thank you.

Super charming and classy hotel in a great location. Service is great and the spa/sauna is relaxing (the pool is part of the spa and better for adults, I wouldn’t recommend it for children even though it is allowed). But the hotel is great for families.

A 5 star hotel comes with certain expectations and they were met with gusto. More importantly, they manage to create the most welcoming atmosphere. A home away from home, really.

Lovely and comfortable hotel. The staff were fantastic - very friendly, attentive, and helpful. The room was comfortable, clean, and nicely decorated. The spa on the top floor has an indoor pool and two saunas that are free for guests to use. It’s not right in the mix of the main shopping/dining area, but is an easy 10-15 minute walk. I would definitely stay here again.

Last night after a very stressful day, then driving down from Cologne, I came to the hotel for a 2 night stay. On arrival, the front desk were extremely helpful. They checked me in, made a phone call to my friends, as my Australian phone was not working and my friends were, by this time, anxious as to my whereabouts. They organised to garage the car, carried up the bags up to the room, then organised a taxi to take me to my friends place in Heidelberg. I have stayed in many hotels around the world, but I have to say the friendliness, professionalism and efficiency of the staff was outstanding. Nothing was any trouble. Truly an exemplary, first class experience. I was so impressed that I am now staying another 2 nights. In a world full of challenges, fatigue, stress and pressure, it is wonderful to find a hotel that is the very definition of fine service and friendly professionalism. In short Outstanding.

During our recent trip through Germany last month this entire hotel and dining experience was a highlight for us and we will be back! This 5-star experience began with their comprehensive website which was truly representative and did not disappoint. We received a warm greeting and helpful information upon check in and were very pleased with the attention to detail in our lovely room. The property and the spa provided a relaxing and luxurious environment. The owner, Caroline von Kretchmann, stopped by and chatted with us during our meal and it is evident by their hands on approach they truly do care to have their guests have this 5-star experience.

I have spent the past 4 nights here as I am in the midst of relocating to Heidelberg and could not wait until check out tomorrow to sing its praises. From the moment I arrived (early), I was accommodated. I watched the owner, who is always around, deal with a challenging situation with grace. I had two rather odd requests -- I needed a voicemail in German translated for me, and I ran out of dog poop bags and needed more, both requests were met with the staff exceeding customer service expectations. In addition, the masseuse was fantastic and very sweet. When my relatives come to visit me, this is where I will recommend they stay.

This hotel was absolutely stunning ! The art and decor was museum like , every corner I turned I stopped to admire paintings and furniture pieces . Everything is in immaculate condition . The spa was beautiful , relaxing and clean . We went down one day and found the door locked but luckily we ran into whom I believe to be the manager and she promptly unlocked the door for us so we could enjoy the pool with our daughter . We were so grateful . Every room is different and the room we had was amazing right down to the door knobs . The cot that was brought in for a daughter was the best cot we have ever had in a hotel . The restaurant was pricey but the meal and service was well worth the expense . As we travel through Europe nothing has compared ..unfortunately haha . Heidelberg is a beautiful place and this hotel truly fit the mark .

I was looking for a hotel in Heidelberg and couldn't have been happier with my choice. The rate was competitive for a city hotel. The bellman was very helpful getting our bags to our room and parking our rental car. He even plugged it in and charged it! The reception staff was friendly and let us know we had been upgraded to a junior suite. The room was bigger than any city hotel I've been in. We planned on touring Heidelberg after checking out so we asked the staff if that was ok since our car was ready to go at the front door. They said "No problem. We'll load your bags. Come back when you're ready.". Service was A+. Room was great. Highly recommend Hotel Europäischer Hof Heidelberg.

I stayed in the hotel with my hubby and little baby for a few days while visiting Heidelberg and we were truly delighted with the experience we had. Yes, it is a whole amazing experience to be a guest in the Europäischer Hof. Excellent service, attentive and caring stuff who made us feel completely relaxed. The room was bright, stylish and comfortable for a stay with a baby. We didn’t miss anything. We much enjoyed to hear the sound of the fountains at 9 o’clock in the morning. That had a very calming effect. Breakfast is fantastic, so is the menu for lunch and dinner. The splendid facilities, the glorious building, the delicious dishes and mostly the brilliant service made our stay a fantastic memory. Should we be returning to the city, we wouldn’t choose any other place. Thank you so much!

The customer service is really lovely. While the hotel itself is nice, it could be renovated in some areas. On the other hand, the staff’s friendliness made our stay extremely enjoyable. I highly recommend it. We brought our dog and the staff acted so welcoming and loving with her. At dinner, we were accommodated even though they didn’t have space at our preferred spot. Their cocktails were also very good and I could see their bar gaining in popularity if they added some music to the setting. Either way, you won’t find better staff - even in much fancier hotels - than in this one. Well done!

This is the best hotel my wife and I have ever stayed at. I booked it for my wife’s birthday and requested a bottle of champagne in the room when we arrived. Even though we arrived later than expected because of traffic it was obvious the hotel staff pays attention to detail because the bottle was in fresh ice and they even had a large piece of cake with Happy Birthday spelled out on the plate in chocolate. The cake and fruit were fresh and obviously had not been waiting for hours for us to arrive. Outstanding service from the staff. Everyone that we met that works there deserves a raise. If we ever stay in Heidelberg again, we will stay here. We ate at the restaurant that is in the hotel and it too was amazing. The four course meal was delicious. All of the staff spoke English and were very helpful. I highly recommend this hotel.

This is a magnificient hotel. We stayed two nights in the junior suite and it was delightful. The interior is very classic and historically impressive. You barely find anything comparable in Germany. If you are looking for an exceptional hotel to visit, this is the place to be.

I rarely post reviews at all, but my stay at Europäischer Hof was easily the best time away I had in years. The whole atmophere was cordial and literally every staff member I had the privilege to meet granted me a sincere and honest feeling of being appreciated. On top of that the (standard) room was immaculate and the food absolutely worthy of the 5 stars rating. The breakfast options leave no wishes unfulfilled and everything I ordered at the bar was top quality as well. The location is also perfect for a visit to the town of Heidelberg. What else can I say? Try it!

Dear Dr Caroline von Kretschmann, I wanted to spend my Saturday in your lovely Hotel, notably at the Day Spa. Upon arrival I was informed that the Spa was closed to external guests. Both a post on the Spa by the Hotel on November 21 and your website provided me with the information that the Spa was indeed open for day spa guests. It is also what Hotels like the Bareiss or the Hotel Friedrichsruhe have as their policy. Thus, I was rather surprised that the Spa was closed upon arrival. Would be useful to update the website (and pdf) accordingly. Warmest regards, Dr Tobias Heuer

Total Perfection from Arrival to Departure Heidelberg was our last stop on our NYC/cross-Germany vacation; we are so glad we picked the Hotel Europaischer Hof Heidelberg for our 20th anniversary! We upgraded to an enormous and elegant dark- wood suite with a delightful view of their very own Christmas tree. The hotel is steps from the old city center which meant our car was unnecessary - fortunately, they have a car park on site. Do make sure you try the hotel breakfast, one of the finest of our entire trip. Afterwards, we would spent long days exploring the town on foot, only retiring to our room when we were entirely exhausted. That is except for classic cocktails in the even-more classic bar and delicious room service.
