Walked in on a Tuesday when the place wasn't very busy. We ordered Coca-Cola and the waitress seemed annoyed. Cool (going to order beers next, but never got the opportunity). Ordered the burger to split, also seemed like we annoyed the waitress. (Not a cultural thing, I know what that looks like) We waited 25+ minutes for our food while the place filled up and everyone else received their food. A different waiter apologized and explained that they switched areas and he took over. We waited another 20 minutes and finally were told it would be "one minute". The burger finally came out raw. Not edible. We walked out and paid for the cokes. "We've never had a problem with the burger, it was so good, we made it part of the menu." It's a problem, and always will be, when you serve it raw. We like rare meat, too and this was a health hazard.

First of all, I want to say that I was having a nice dinner when the waiter comes to us at the end with the bill and then started to push us that we must pay a tip for him because his salary comes from there. I can understand that tips are important to him but we are in Germany not in United States and this kind of behavior from waiter could be quiet intimidatory. Food was okay and the price “not cheap” but also okay.

DO NOT EAT RODENT (Mouse) PROBLEM (when there is one mouse there are many, many more) in the dining room. Mouse 🐭🐁 casually walking around the dining room. Photos attached. Monday 15th of May 2023 time 21:38/09:38PM Btw it's Monday night, not during an event, not during any sort of German festivities it's an evening meal on a Monday? Wait staff alleged the door was open and the mouse came from the market. Um...... Also said it's a major problem in summer. YUK!!! I did have something black in my pork knuckle. I felt that it should not have been there so I picked it out and brushed it aside. Thought nothing of it continued eating. I say this now after seeing that mouse and the restaurant could have been. Maybe I don't know. A robust pest control management plan by a reputable company that specialises in this area should make the restaurant rodent free. As there is no pest control at this restaurant. If you are German can you please report this to the health department as rodents in a restaurant is......... Der Pschorr

Real good, solid Bavarian food, impeccable service and good atmosphere. Only downside is the pricing - €6,10 for a half litre of beer is expensive, then again you always pay for the location, too, so I understand. Recommended! 💯

Unfortunately this place changed lately. I used to go quite often but my last times there with working colleagues and friends were quite bad. I’m feeling sad sharing this feedback but I want to be honest - location is perfect - food is pretty good - beers are top - service is bad, arrogant and unprofessional

Beautiful, spacious beer hall in Munich. Reasonably price and excellent quality.

A modern yet traditional beer hall. The food is solid, the beer is excellent (Hacker Pschorr from wooden cask is seriously underrated) but unfortunately pricey and sometimes underpoured. On the flip side, you get a great atmosphere right at the Viktualienmarkt.

Crowdy and busy place in the city centre. Typical bavarian atmosphere. Nice to see.. Excellent beer like everywhere in Munich

Fair read meat. Some real good read wine would be necessary. But we’re in Bayern land of beer. 😊

The beer was nice and cold. Service was warm and friendly. We tried the crispy duck, which was okay. There's nothing to call home about, but it is locally bought, so that's always nice. Good place to stop if the biergarten is too packed. Enjoy!

Food was good but the service wasn't always. The staff doesn't like working there, I think. Prices are a bit high for the quality of food and drinks. In the end, they automaticaly add 10% on the bill as a tip. Criminal! Tip should be voluntarely if theres good service... Not typical german either by the way.

The food and service here was probably the best we experienced in Munich. The beer from the wooden barrels was also excellent.

We are on the patio, and it was fairly busy. Our waiter was very attentive and tried his best to accommodate our lack of language skills. We ordered 2 entrees and 2 appetizers, both of which were excellent

This is a good spot if you’re looking for a casual, Bavarian restaurant and brewery near the old town of Munich. The restaurant is packed during the day, but that’s a testament to what the place is, a very Bavarian watering hole with good food. We went for lunch and the place was crowded with locals and tourists (like ourselves) looking for a liter of beer and some hearty Bavarian dishes. I ordered the 1/2 Schweinshaxe (pork knuckle) and my wife ordered the Gnocchi (Feine Nocken). Both dishes were filling and delicious! The service was good, though at times chaotic with some miscommunication between the waiters. Because of how busy it was, it did take awhile to get additional rounds of drinks. If it’s your first time to Bavaria, this place should be one of your first stops!

Good atmosphere and excellent service. The wine was great. I was excited by the prospect of steak, onions and potatoes. Literally my favourite combination but it was relatively average in taste and the steak a little bit tough, unfortunately. Next time I’ll try something a little more bavarian. If you’re in the old town it has a fabulous amount seating inside and out, and very clean toilets.

Overall great place in Munich. Food also very good. We came for later dinner on Saturday evening and was disappointed that waitress didn't tell us on time there are no deserts left. Would be nice to be a bit more thoughtful of your guests and say in advance if something is not available from kitchen.

Great location and a very beautiful building. The menu is short, but has a nice selection of meat dishes, if you are a neat lover you will be happy. The beer is ok, the service is chaotic. Beware of the wasps during summer!

I didn't get photos of this place, but it was phenomenal. I got the Semolina soup as an appetizer and then the beef sausages for the meal. The sausages came with whipped potatoes and sauerkraut with bacon. Everything was so flavorful and cooked perfectly. The venue looks new and is right near the market. The service was great, it was a little pricey, but it was worth it. Edit: visited again around the Christmas market time and it was absolutely packed! Again, the service was really good for the amount of people that had to be taken care of. This time I got the Entrecote, which was okay. The potatoes were the star of the show and the vegetables were the most disappointing. Almost kind of a jumbled together mush? I don't know. I should have went with the zwiebelrostbraten, or the sausages I previously had. Definitely not as good as the first time there.

Siisti. Saimme pöydän ilman varausta pyhäpäivän iltana.

We had such a good experience that we went back again during our short stay. It's such a great find and in my opinion the best food we had in Munich. Excellent service and great selection of drinks and farm to table food.

Nice Place, but I prefer HB. The meat is good but could be better. As a comment for the owner, the waiters can attend much better.

Great food and beer, service was excelent. The prices are higher than most for bavarian food but again, they serve very well executed dishes so it may pay off.

The best meal I've had while in awhile. Beer was great (cold and poured with a good head). The steak was cooked to a perfect medium and very juicy/flavorful. The service was polite and the food came out 10 minutes after I ordered.

A very nice Bavarian restaurant in the heart of Munich. We went on a Friday so it was quite busy, but the staff did an amazing job. The service was very fast and the food and beer were delicious. It's not cheap, but the portions are large so you will not leave hungry. Will definitely visit again next time I'm in Munich.

The place is quite nice and the staff is friendly, besides you can sample excellent Bavarian beer. The food is not very good though. We've had beef tartar which tasted a bit strange... The vegetables were not very fresh, a bit sour... Other than that the place is okay. Maybe you will have more luck with the meals 😉

  • 5/5 Pedro 1 year ago on Google
It was very busy but service was quick and the meal was good. Price wise is a bit on the expensive side but that's to be expected given the location.

Salad was good. Service was really good and the place was packed! I only drank here but the entrées looked really good. my wife had salad and was good.

Nice beer house off the beaten track, especially on the weekend where the pubs/restaurants as part of the market square tend to be booked out. This wine was also a delicious find.

  • 4/5 Luka L. 9 months ago on Google
We had the pork knuckle, a big portion and crispy skin, you can't go wrong with it. The staff was fast and efficient.

  • 4/5 Marta S. 9 months ago on Google
The food, drinks and service were great. We visited on a hot Saturday afternoon and it was packed but not crowded. The low point of the visit was the woman sitting at the toilet entrance expecting payment. For people from outside Europe it is hard enough to get used to the whole idea of paying to use the toilet, but doing this at a restaurant is unacceptable. Please move on into the 21 century!

Comfortable spot to grab a beer or eat a meal close to the center of town, right next to the Viktualienmarkt. Convenient location and staff usually speaks English. I’m Dec 2021 they are checking vaccinations along with your passport to verify your identity.

if you are fan of beer & disent crowd then you should visit this place. the beer & food are really delicous & price are correct. little problem with the service. the server don't have time to explain the disses, special when we are not german then we felt like lost in translation.

Been coming here for years and they have good beer, good food and good service. The location is also great right next to the Viktualienmarkt. Plenty of outdoor seating and the menu is small but great. The haxe here is good as are the beef sausages. The helles from the wood barrel is really excellent and overall a great experience.

Great place to eat. A bit pricey but definitely worth it. The service is ok. Obviously the beer is fantastic. It gets very crowded.

  • 4/5 Florian W. 4 years ago on Google
Tasty, abundant food of Bavaria - high quality and very authentic. Service is quick, too. You better reserve a table, though, as it gets very crowded very quickly. It’s also very pricey (expect between 20 and 30 Euro for entrees). When things are in full swing, it also gets very loud - don’t try to have a quiet evening, it’s impossible. But you wouldn’t come here for that anyway.

Got there at 21.05 and told that the kitchen closes at 21.00, even chips were not an option. Maybe you should update your opening hours on Google. Ordered a beer and to great disappointment it tastes like iron, definitely the worst tap beer I have ever had in Munich and also the most expensive. I definitely won't return, you're much better with Paulaner, Augustiner or Hofbräuhaus.

Great location. Very good food, specially the local bavarian dishes. Great Pschorr beer.

  • 4/5 Motassem H. 10 months ago on Google
The place was nice, casual, yet the service is not very friendly as I would expect. The place was crowded but there was a place to sit indoor and outdoor. The food was nice and tasty, yet, you need to work on your German language as English language is not very strong in the place. Do the service was not very friendly, it was good yet we were lucky seeing a waiter who has been to Egypt several times, so we found a common ground to joke about which broke some ice.

Large portions and kindness. I have asked to warm up again my dish (as i was busy changing my baby) and the servior brought back me a warm dish to the kitchen. Bravo

I think the food is "okay", but overall very nice atmosphere and attentive service. Also one of the very modern beer hall in the heart of Munich 🥳

Superb bar, you should try their recommended beer which is freshly tapped out of a wood cask.

First night in Germany started to rain we decided to duck in here to get out of the rain. The beer service was super quick and the food was amazing. We had the half duck and it couldn't have been more tender and had the sausages which were just great glad we stumbled in here

  • 5/5 Aldenora P. 2 years ago on Google
Beautiful location, excellent service, wonderful food, the duck, whose name I don't remember is in the photo here, it was simply indescribable. As the Portuguese speak, 5 stars!!! I recommend!!!!

  • 4/5 TH3 T. 2 years ago on Google
Pretty good restaurant in the city center. The menu only features regional, seasonal produce and meat! You'll pay a premium for this but the quality and assortment of dishes is suitable for it. The meals are traditional Bavarian, some are the chef's special creations. Staff was very friendly, service fast. Only the steak (Zwiebelrostbraten) seemed to have been made in a hurry with the outside being crispy rather than tender. Otherwise recommended. Interior is a mix of modern and traditional design, can be rather noisy due to the open concept. Reserve ahead because it's usually very busy.

Ate here tonight, limited menu, nice decor, food basic but tasty and staff friendly. We had the Goulash soup which was just on the cusp of being overseasoned but it was very nice and hearty.
