I went to the restaurant to see how different the food, especially the pasta, is from other branches I have tried in New York, Dubai, Seoul, and Italy. Food was not so much different from that in other countries. But the service was the worst. The worst service I have ever had at Eataly among all the branches. It was my first time to be called "hey, hey" by a waiter to grab my dish by myself. The guy "Fabio" was kindly handing out dishes to others but it was only me who was served in this terrible manner. I don't know if it was because I was alone or if it was because I was an Asian. The guy even threw the bill onto the table, when I asked for the bill. Munich, especially the old town, is really a nice place to learn how Europeans perceive other ethnicities other than Europeans. It was really an unpleasant experience for 60 Euros. There are much better authentic Italian restaurants around the town where you can get the better food and the better service. This review is based on my experience 1 year ago as it has been removed by the restaurant or Google. I hope that there has been an improvement.

This market/ restaurant is for Italian food lovers dream. Rare spices, sauces, various pastas, olive oils... all that you would need to make the most extravagant Italian dish just like how they make it in Italy. They also have fresh produce as well as making bread, pizzas, and pastries fresh daily. They also make killer pastas too.

This pathetic excuse for what they called a lobster was €32. I literally had 2 bites of lobster and it was over. Lobster was over cooked and dry. The other dish a seafood pasta arrived with ice cold muscles and clams. Complete rip off. Complained and nothing!

Original Italian food, tasty Tagliolino Al Tartufo and mouthwatering Tiramisu.. however for the price you paid (€24 for the Trüffel pasta) I think the services should be more welcoming and professional. Waiters were always running around and cannot be bothered… (don’t bother asking for an English menu or asking them to explain a bit more) For this price I strongly recommend you walk 15 mins further to Tavernetta ( near Maximilian str), the food is equally delicious or even better and the service is never disappointing

This was one of my best experiences in Munich. I’m actually surprised by the other negative reviews! The place is extremely amazing and the food was just perfect. Our waiter was extremely helpful and nice and the price was just right. The verity of food and drinks were so good. I’d definitely go back there in my next trip.

We stopped at Eataly for lunch and it was pleasing. Since we are at the very core of Munich, many tourists, so the service here is very impersonal yet pragmatic. The food is good, the quality of the ingredients are great yet it wouldn’t expect less as the prices also reflect that. If you want more ambiance then eat upstairs, if you want a bit more privacy and a broader choice with the wine, go downstairs; here you’ll find more locals or actually Italians in my opinion. Eataly is always good to stop for the products, yet I am never super happy with the service.

Ate dinner here with an Italian friend and he said the pizza was very authentic. I had the meat platter to start which was nice. My pizza was pretty good but I have had better hence the 4/5 review rating.

I’ve been a few times now - because I had some nostalgic memories of Eataly - but the restaurant experience has always been mediocre to bad so far. This is also why I want to write a review now. The service is really unprofessional and unfriendly - starting from the weird non welcoming host to the indifferent waiters (only men for some reason) and generally being ignored all the time, the food quality is ok but not worth the prices charged combined with that service. Every time I went something made me feel unhappy and that’s not great for a restaurant. Tonight I didn’t even tip because I felt they really hated having us as customers. That was my last time there for sure.

Great place in the centre of Munich. The smell of cheese, the smell of salami wafts to your nostrils and mixes with smells of all types of other great Italian delicacies! There were so many different things: many different pasta, sauces, olives, wines and much more. There was probably nothing Italian that was not there! We did not eat there but looks like a great place!

One of the best gelatos in Munich. Large scoops on a cone, friendly staff, and value for money. Totally recommend.

Pizza was good compared with other restaurants. The atmosphere is nice, sometimes you have to wait a bit to be seated because is crowded. You feel like you are on italian’s roads, a bit too narrow, sitting on the table.

I always have great experience in Eataly! If you’re looking for authentic, Neapolitan pizza, Eataly is the best place. The pizza chefs are from Naples. This is a rare case for Munich, most other places are only pretending to be Italian. In Eataly there’s also a large grocery store with Italian products. If you enjoy things like guanciale (for true carbonara!), piadina, various products with truffles, — you can find all that in Eataly. Such things are not sold in regular supermarkets in Munich. Generally if you’re looking for true Italian, authentic, high-quality food and products, Eataly is your go-to-place in Munich.

This first time we came in for evening drinks at the Aperol bar, our server was amazing, friendly, fast and efficient. The amaretto sour I ordered was the best one I’ve ever had (not overly sweet and syrupy like the ones I typically have had in the US). Because of how great the drinks and service was (as well as equally great service at the coffee/dessert bar the next day), we decided to stop by during our third day in Munich for lunch on the pizza restaurant side. Took about 20 before a server took our drink/food order, but once they did, they all came out super fast and efficient. The pizza was delicious, and the limoncello tonic cocktail was so refreshing for such a hot day. Marco behind the pizza bar was very friendly and helpful, and the two pies we got were incredible. We had the margarita and the Napoletana. Although the food was good, our server never came to check on us and it took a really long time to get a server to take our order and even longer to actually pay it. Eventually I tried waving down our server, who completely ignored us, and then another staffer came by, who said his coworker would be right with us to take care of our check. Finally a third person came to run our card, and the machine was broken (it kept saying “not connecting”) but he was acting rude to us as if our cards were declined (we tried three different cards, all of which have more than enough of a balance to pay for our 50€ bill), and finally he re-ran one of our cards and it connected correctly and the payment went through. Because of the service issues during lunch, I knocked it down by one star, but I would like to reiterate the friendliness of the pizza chef, Marco, and the great bar and coffee staff who took care of us on our previous visits.

Went there for the first time last week, the food was quite good, however the traditional items from the menu were missing, like spaghetti Carbonara or a simple pesto pasta, the menu selections sounds great but a little more choices would be nicer. The service was good, nothing out of the ordinary, however the prices are quite high in my opinion. I'm guessing that's due to its highly touristic location. There are far better Italian places in Munich at a much lesser cost, don't think I'll be visiting this place again.

Amazing napolitana pizzas and tiramisu. I can only complain about the Aperol Spritz, too expensive for the prices you find in Munich (8,5 euros) and was not really good (too much Aperol and lack of soda/champagne). Anyway, we love Eataly 🙂

The service was average and the pasta was below average and overpriced! There are much better Italian restaurants in the city where you can go for better service and food and pay decent prices. The waiter serving food didn’t really seem interested to pay any attention to guests.

Was fairly disappointed by the Aperol Night. The event runs from 5 to 9 p. m., we got there at 5:30 and we barely had a place to stand, let alone enjoy our drinks and food. Extremely crowded, which makes purchasing a ticket beforehand a waste of time. Quite frustrating!!! The food was tasty, but very heavy on carbs, the Aperol really watery.

I really like this spot despite very high prices for still simple and traditional Italian cuisine. It is very busy on the weekends and you might need to wait eternity for a table. All in all: elegant market with very decent restaurants and friendly, funny staff. The truffle pizza is a bomb! Super delicious.

We were there on Saturday early afternoon which surely we had to queue. They didn't take us long till we got seated. They offered nice option of Italian food. We had antipasti plate (small one) to share plus two glasses of tasty red wine. It was a good portion for two.

Superb location but its service standard and quality of food require improvement. Saw from outside very crowded and big, we thought it must be a good restaurant and quickly asked for an inside table. It took very long for the waiter to come to take our order. Our table was empty without any cutlery until the food was served. We waited very long for the food. I had to go to the parking meter to buy another ticket as the first 70-minute ticket was not enough. After getting another ticket for my car, I went into the restaurant to ask about our order and was told by a senior restaurant guy that there was a mix-up in the kitchen. He apologised unreservedly. The two spaghetti was eventually served in 10 min but it was way below our expectation. Knowing that we were very upset, the restaurant gave us a free meal. This is commendable as it shows the restaurant still cared. I would like to appeal to the restaurant to live up to its location and name by improving the service level and quality of food.

Most expensive truffled pasta I have ever had, and it tasted like butter and no trace of truffle. The service was terrible. Don’t waste your time.

We were a group of 6 people and a reservation was done beforehand. We got some appetizers and Aperol spritz before the main course. Overall the appetizers were great, it was tasty, made fresh but the Aperol was a bit watery (maybe a bit too much ice and less of other stuff), but for me the pizza was a bit of a disappointment. I had the buffala mozzarella pizza and safe to say I have had better. Nevertheless, the weather was nice, the serving staff were curtious and always smiling and attended to our needs very quickly. It was an evening so it was still crowded but they are doing the best they can with the space available.

Really impressive place, the selection of produce is jaw dropping. There is so much to grasp in this vast space. Great if you’re into experimenting with cooking and would like to use premium quality products.

Tasty San Bitter for 4,50. Slow and not reliable service in the restaurant side but very sweet staff in the vegetable market corner and in the Venchi and coffee place. Toilets downstairs on the basement floor. This is the unique market in Munich where the cucumber cetriolo sort and fresh almonds are sold. Their season is May and June. They have also the Baratiere cucumber sort but haven’t seen the fresh almonds yet this year.

Everything was fine until the waiter came to us with the bill, and told us the tip was 10%, he put the credit card on the machine and it was done... we made our research there is no obligation to pay so much for the tip, and the service was just basic. If you are a tourist don't go there or refuse to pay a Tip so expensive !!!

Service was very bad. Service came to our table 20 minutes later to take the orders. We received food but no cutlery. Received antipasti plate with no bread. Not attending to your table. Watch out that they charge you for the more expensive wine instead of what you have ordered. In the end he said we should pay the correct amount but he refused to change the bill. One waiter could not speak English or German, only Italian. The food quality was the worth the price.

Eataly is one of my favorite restaurants and this one in Munich is as good as the other ones I visited. If you’re planning a delicious Italian eat out, definitely check this place out.

Traditional Italian restaurant in the city of Munich, directly at the market. The food is very fresh and seasonally different. It was full, and the service was not so fast, but friendly

Incredible nice area to be with a great pizza and the best Aperol Sprizz and Limoncello Tonic in Munich. Thank you Sandro for the excellent service.

This is the worst pizza I have ever tried in Munich and the most expensive at the same time. I have complained with the waiter and he agreed I was right. The dough has not grown up at all, there are very few and small bubbles of air. Also the dough had the consistency of gum. I have blue digestive issues . Pizza Hut or pizza domino might be better. 20 euro for such pizza are a shame. Also I’m Italian but the waiters cannot speak properly German..

☕️🧀🍝Cafes and groceries from fresh fruits, Italian coffee beans, amaretto biscuits, balsamic, olive oil, sardines, ham, parmigiana and other cheese from Italy. They have it even freshly bake bread. Near to the popular market and Marienplatz.

Walk-in, no reservations available (not sure if this is norm or what)…but worth the wait (party of 4). We had pizza, calzone, bolognese & dessert. Service was prompt and attentive, highly recommend!

Dont know what happened, what used to be fresh and nice is now moldy and old. Entire cheese and meat desk full of mold and out of date products. There are fresher and better markets close by, go there instead.

Great quality of food but its a busy popular place. So prices are not the most reasonable for the size of portions and pf course services its always on a rush. On the back the market its outstanding, its a paradise for grocery shopping.

This is a gem in the center of the city. You can find basically anything you desire from Italy here. You will be confronted with too many choice for you to know which one you want, which is part of the fun. The grocery store is nice and the quality is high. Though, the prices are also high. This shop tailors to the tourist that flood into the place since it is near all tourist attractions, and those who have the money to spend. I suggest to come when the tourist hoards of people are there. It will be a more enjoyable experience for you. Also to check out the basement wine cellar. Not many people go down there and you can find some really nice items down there.

We would like to register a complaint regarding the person in charge of the Venchi section. He said his name is Christiano (or Tiziano). I couldn't hear his name properly over the phone. First of all, he charged us extra for the luxury chocolates we bought. When we realized this 5 minutes after leaving the store, we rushed to the store and tried to return it (and also offered to exchange it). But he was very uncooperative and kept justifying himself. He simply wouldn't accept his mistake and instead demonstrated aggressive behavior. We were charged 14 euros extra. So Instead of paying 28 euros, we ended up paying 42 euros. I am a regular Eataly customer and I have never had any problem buying at Eataly. But I found this man's behavior execrable. I hope you will take my complaint seriously and take necessary action.

Clean and bright place. One side is the market and the other the restaurant. Purchased an Arancini and the worker gave us the wrong one (wanted the tomato, not yellow rice). He then decided not to warm it up, so the food tasted old. Lastly, we asked where to sit down since the nearest sitting area was full, he directed us to the restaurant. When we got to the restaurant (after ignoring us), the waiter says that we're not allowed to sit there. Very incompetent workers and mediocre food for the price. Even seeing our frustration, they didn't even bother to correct the mistake. Not very customer-oriented.

Eataly is a large food store and restaurant next to Viktualien markt and is located in the old Schrannen Halle. The place is great for fresh and authentic Italian food and the restaurant serves pasta and pizza. Often there are samples of food provided, which is great to taste before you purchase. I would also recommend the bakery where you can buy freshly baked pastries and lunch snack.

The ambiance is amazibg, I liked the one in manhattan and this is somehow similar. The truffle pizza tasted very delicious 😋 I loved the Cazoza Italian drink similar to sprite but more like lemonade 😋 😀 The ravioli with pumpkin 🎃 muuuum not really the best . For that the 4 stars
