Parkplätze in der Nähe, teilweise kostenpflichtig. Sehr schöne Klosteranlage mit verschiedenen Lokalen/ Restaurants. Man kann das Kloster so anschauen ohne Eintritt, aber dann kann man nicht die Gesamte Anlage anschauen. Wer Bücher mag, im besonderen alte Bücher, sollte auf jeden Fall Buchladen Krüger besuchen. Sehr schönes Ausflugsziel, vor allem, wenn das Wetter mitspielt. Immer wieder ein Besuch wert, wenn auch nur zum Essen oder verweilen. Oder wenn man mal wieder ein neues altes Buch haben möchte.

This monastery was founded in 1147! And is one of the best preserved in all Europe. It is stunning in beauty and holds many stories (take the guided tour it's worth it). The monetary was ruled first by the catholic church (the Cistercian order) and then by the protestants. Make sure you enjoy the dining room with its acoustic ;)

Der Klosterbesuch ist zu teuer für den Gegenwert. Da UNESCO Weltkulturerbe und auf vielen Bawü Top-Listen zu finden hat man schon eine gewisse Erwartungshaltung und leider ist es dann doch recht unspektakulär. Der Hof und die umgebenden, alten und schönen Häuser sind beeindruckend, allerdings kostet das noch nichts und deswegen nach Maulbronn zu kommen lohnt nicht. Auch ist es schon eindrucksvoll solch alte Gebäude zu sehen. Das möchte ich voran schicken. Ich bewerte den Eintritt ins Kloster. Der ist mit 9 Euro pro Person und 12 Euro mit Audioguide oder Führung (warum kostet Audioguide und Führung das selbe?) schon sehr überzogen für den Gegenwert. Drinnen wird es nämlich sehr enttäuschend. Es sind wirklich nur leere Räume zu sehen mit einer kleinen Tafel und Erklärung was da mal war... völlig leer! Einzig die Kirche ist dann halbwegs sehenswert und der Innenhof. Aber dafür 9 Euro? Mehr als Wucher, da muss man sich schon mit anderen Sehenswürdigkeiten messen lassen. Parkplätze teilweise kostenlos, aber auch kostenpflichtige. Extra nach Maulbronn fahren lohnt sich auch eher nicht, der Ort ist recht beschaulich. Insgesamt daher enttäuschend, wer sich Bawü anschauen möchte, sollte auf einer Top 10 Liste oder gar Top 20 Liste definitiv andere Ziele stehen haben, da gibt es unzählig besseres.

Der Klosterhof ist der schönste Platz in der Region. Die historischen Gebäude werden in hervorragendem Zustand gehalten. Obwohl das Kloster als Weltkulturerbe registriert ist, hält sich die Anzahl der Besucher in Grenzen. In der Regel ist es hier sehr beschaulich. Trotzdem bieten sich eine Anzahl netter Restaurants und ein Biergarten im Klosterhof an, um zu verweilen.

Really nice monastery full with interesting small spots to discover. Paying the ticket to go inside is totally worthy. Don't forget to get the secret path to the nearby lake.

Nothing special. If you are an experienced traveler, it could be just a nice getaway for a couple of hours, to enjoy the good weather and tranquility of the place. However, no need to go there deliberately. Wheelchair accessible outside only, all in paving slabs. You can get inside with a push chair.

Interesting monastery with good audio guides

Most complete monestry of cistercians north of the alps. Established 1147. After reformation used as a shool. Most famous person attending and running away Hermann Hesse. Freely accessible even after hours for a stroll. Good Times to visit end of June midevil market and Christmas Market. Cool tours to book, even some with an description of the local bats. Dr. Faust was also living here for a time. The museum is also worth a visit. Do run concerts as well.

Beautiful, and just oozing serenity. Believe in God or not, this place has seen things and it wants to tell.

Wow! Spent over 2 hours exploring the Abbey and gorgeous compound. Simply impressive. Offers both guided, depending on availability, and audio device which worked great for me. Both drink and restaurant options within compound.

Sehr schöner Ort wo man sehr schön laufen kann und über die Geschichte viel informiert wird ( Es gibt auch sehr viele Parkplätze neben dem Kloster in der Einbahnstraße entlang)

Eine Führung bei Kerzenlicht ist eine ganz besondere Atmosphäre. 350 Kerzen erleuchten nur schwach die Gemäuer und geben einen Eindruck, wie die Mönche früher gelebt haben. Die Führung ist außerordentlich gut. Der anschließende Glühwein ist Geschmackssache… dennoch sollte man sich das nicht entgehen lassen. Und dann noch mal eine Besichtigung bei Tageslicht machen.

Ganz nett. Wir waren zufällig in der Gegend und sind dann spontan im Außenbereich spazieren gegangen. Ich hatte es mir allerdings schöner/irgendwie spektakulärer vorgestellt. Vielleicht genießen wir die Atmosphäre nochmal während des Weihnachtsmarktes

Die Klosteranlage ist wunderschön und beeindruckend. Dieses Mal hatten wir uns entschlossen auch hineinzugehen. Ein Eintritt von 9€ pro Person (+3€ für einen audioguide) ist bei 5 Personen schon eine Investition. Es war dann eine Überraschung, dass alles komplett unbeleuchtet war. Vom Chorgestühl konnten wir nur mit der Handy Beleuchtung ein bisschen sehen. Man konnte sich in die Lage der Klosterbewohner versetzen an einem grauen regnerischen Tag. Da ist tatsächlich ein inneres Licht nötig, das wärmt und erleuchtet. Ich kann mir vorstellen, dass sich für den Klosterbesuch ein heißer Sommertag besser eignet, wo einen dann angenehme Kühle empfängt. Besonders schön ist der Innenhof, der kreuzgang der kaskzde Brunnen ...

Interesting old buildings and Restaurant Klosterkatz is a very good place to dine.

Well preserved monastic complex complete with medievil structure village and walls. Many great examples of gothic stone work. The grounds are beautiful and the surrounding shops sell wine, beer and food. Well worth a visit!

Absolutely amazing food served inside could not recommend it more. The monastery itself has very intricate designs inside and is a fascinating tour although because it is still used as a modern day school some of the places are blocked off.

I visited the monastery on a very cold, February day, but still it was one of the most fun trips I had in that region. The monastery is not the most typical place you would visit, but still it's definitely worth the extra distance. It's very well conserved (built in medieval times) and even in high season not overcrowded.

Really nice historic place you can visit, I would recommend it during a warmer time of the year so that you can enjoy the surroundings as well. The interiors are also worth a visit. Plan a couple of hours.

Superb monastery still in activity It is basically a complete village by itself with its of own lovely town and city hall within the city fortifications

Very nice place. When we where there is was not that busy. Enjoyed the beautiful monastery. It reminded me of a small Hogwarts!

This visit was a very nice experience. It is like entering an old perdectly mantained Medioeval village. In order to get the best experience it is adviced to use either a guided tour or the audioguide. Recommended!

Eine sehr schöne und erklärte und ausgefüllte Führung im Schloss Maulbronn erhalten. Wir waren bereits bei anderen Führungen der Abteien , aber dieses Kloster hat uns am besten gefallen, da es das einzigste ist auch noch so gut und komplett erhalten ist Sehr zu empfehlen um es zu besichtigen.

Interesting place to visit, full of history. Make sure to take the audio guide to experience the best of this place. There is also a path using the wooden stairs besides the rathaus which leads to the small lake besides as well as a small path through the fields above.
