Be careful when you decided to stay in this place for a vacation. I just spent a night in this place and just checked out today. First of all, the guard that you meet at the gate is not very friendly, the guard will keep on watching you wherever go. No nice parking, I left my car outside along side the street because that's what the guard told me. The food inside the resort is very expensive. I bought some food in the nearby Newtown Center, but when the guard saw me bringing the foods he stopped me because that's not allowed. A cake for example is worth 500 pesos corkage fee. Don't bring food I booked a good for 4 persons room, me, my wife, my 2 kids. But my eldest child followed in the evening. I asked for extra bed, we were told extra person is worth 1,500 pesos and extra bed is worth 1,800 pesos . That's almost the amount of the room that we booked. Now here comes the worst thing. Upon checkout, we were hold first because we were told the staff will check on our rooms first. They found out that there was a stain in the towels. Of course, because those towels are put there for the guests to use. They are not just decorations. My daughter used makeup and lipsstick when doing her pictorials in the beach. That explains the stain. 2 stains in two towels is worth 1,000 pesos. So we ended up paying too much. But emotional damage is something that cannot be paid. It's my birthday and I felt bad in this resort. Not worth the money. I should booked a much expensive resort with no extra charges. I felt scammed.

I came in late after the airline didn't put my luggage on my plane. Got to gate they wanted 1500php from me I didn't have it because nowhere was I told I needed it (room was already paid) Obviously I needed wifi to deal with the mess. Room had tons of rules n fees posted everywhere but no wifi. So I had to wait till 6:30 am to get wifi. Then I ordered breakfast at 7:40 asked for some extra eggs because im starving. Had to get it to the room because no wifi in restaurant. 10min later they call n tell me not possible to get 2 extra eggs. So I walked back n said fine just bring me 2 breakfasts I'm starving. 8:30 I can't reach airline so I must get to airport to deal with this. I ordered breakfast 45min ago and it still had not come. So I called taxi n checked out. As I'm checking out my breakfast comes. Guy is yelling at me I have to pay.. breakfast shouldn't take 45min. Room mold in bathroom, they have chart that says they charge if get towel dirty or stained but bath rug is already completely stained. Nice pool, nice grounds

Great Resort, staff are super friendly and helpful and it feels safe being there with security 24/7 The food they provide is actually really nice. The swimming pool are well looked after, the beach isn’t really what I expected with broken glass in some area, also the resort is kinda a bit far from the shop but besides this it is a really nice place to stay, the rooms are very spacious and clean.

We had so much fun! Affordable Day Use rate and worth the money. Food is great also and not very complicated menu (we love traditional Filipino food). The staff are courteous and hospitable. The pool attendant and the restaurant staff who served us were very accomodating. The guard is definitely doing excellent job,we are glad there is strict health protocols implemented upon entry. The pools are very clean and well maintained.

Great peaceful location, nice swimming pools. Great value. My only complaint is that it's a bit of a walk or drive to stores and Restaurants.

Very pretty and chill place, perfect for staycations. They have 3 pools, a kiddie pool, an inifinity pool, and one of them have a pretty decent shade if you don't want to stay in the sun. They also have a beach area. The place was so clean and the attendants were so polite, the rooms are spacious and have complete amenities. Parking is also not a problem, you can park along the street outside (only guests of this resort and nearby resorts can enter the area so there is no issue of other vehicles passing by since it is a secluded area). Overall it was a great experience staying there.

The room was nice, beds were comfy (white, crisp bed sheets and fluffy pillows and comforters are my weakness), 3 swimming pools to choose from - 2 for adults with an amazing view of the ocean while one perfect for our daughter. They only needed to improve their restaurant. We've stayed in this place 3 or 4 times already but everytime, there's always something not available in their menu, which sometimes is the one that we happen to choose. And they need to have SMB pale pilsen ready and in stock so my hubby won't complain. :) Staff: pleasant!

Vista Mar Beach Resort in Mactan, Cebu, Philippines, presents a somewhat paradoxical experience. This high-end resort, while boasting several appealing features like its oceanfront location and multiple pools, appears somewhat dated and has been grappling with low occupancy. The resort's most noteworthy feature is its infinity pool, which offers stunning ocean views, along with private beach access and two additional pools catering to different preferences. However, the surreal aspect comes into play when you consider that such a diva of a property seems to have faded into relative obscurity, often lacking guests. On the plus side, the rooms are reasonably priced, making it a potentially attractive option for travelers on a budget. However, one notable downside is the ban on outside food and beverages, coupled with on-site dining options that lean toward the expensive side. This can be a drawback for those looking to explore culinary options beyond the resort. In conclusion, Vista Mar Beach Resort in Mactan, Cebu, is a mixed bag. Its infrastructure and amenities have potential, but the low occupancy and restrictions on outside food and beverages may leave some travelers wanting more. It remains an option worth considering, especially for those seeking affordability and access to the beach and pools, but it might not be the ideal choice for those in search of a bustling resort atmosphere.

The prices of the room is quite cheap so you get what you pay for. Pros: - The rooms are clean, big and spacious -Beds are comfortable -Bathroom has a bidet (definitely a big plus for me) - Location is pretty near airport (so this would be a great place to stay if you'll be staying for a short duration) -There are a lot of pools that you may use - Design is pretty classic which I appreciate Cons -It's pretty weird that they don't let the cars go inside the place so we had to walk a bit. Maybe because of covid? but it's a little inconvenient - Location is quite deep? but you can find it via Waze / Gmaps - Shower pressure is not the best I would definitely recommend this for short duration trips or you just need a place to stay before your flight.

The venue is picturesque with 2 nice pools. It's a nice space to relax and take pictures. Our bathroom was not acceptable. The shower drain backed up the first night (They did manage to fix that within a couple hours). Hot water was hit or miss. I saw the cover missing on our solar heater on the roof, that may have had something to do with it. The shower handle was installed in such a way that you could only get all hot or all cold water (when there was hot water). The window to our room would not open, and there was permanent water on our balcony. The faux-wood tiles are very slippery when wet. The beach was okay, but had limited hours of access. There was a lot of broken glass, and I almost stepped on a sea urchin, so water shoes are highly recommended. We didn't find any restaurants within walking distance, so we ate at the hotel restaurant a lot. The quality of the food and service varied greatly. One night our server forget to bring us our drinks and appetizers. You could order something and it would be good, and order the same thing a few days later and have it served luke warm without the same ingredients they used the last time. Sometimes the server would greet you with menus when you walked in, other times they would just leave you sitting at your table until you hunted them down and requested menus or placed your order. One day your beer would be served chilled and the next it would be served at room temperature. Under no circumstances should ketchup and chillies be considered salsa. It's not that hard, put a tomato, onion, sweet pepper, and a couple cloves of garlic in the blender. Salt and add spicy peppers to taste. Melt the cheese onto your nachos or serve them with queso (dipping cheese). The mosquitos were vicious. One evening we killed 8 while waiting for our server to take our order. Other than that, the staff was friendly and helpful. the resort is located in a gated area with regular security patrols. I can't say that I wouldn't stay here again, but I will try some other places first.

would give 3.5 stars if I could. good stuff - rooms were great - spacious, clean, and nothing broken - resort had a very relaxing feel to it - hotel staff and housekeeping were attentive and pleasant enough - did not swim but the two larger pools were clean and had a great view not so good stuff - food is pricey. the menu states they add 10% service charge and 12% VAT on the listed prices. first order was a pizza and mango shake, cooking definitely did not justify the price. pizza was something I felt like I could have made at home and the pineapple slices were weird (picked them off even though I love the fruit) shake was too artifical tasting. opted not to order any of their mains so we just had breakfast with them (average price and taste) - there’s nowhere to lounge around at the resort if it rains aside from the restaurant. would be nice to have the existing outdoor areas and chairs covered. - restaurant staff can be a bit noisy sometimes when they group around the bar area - room wifi is intermittent overall happy with how much I spent for the room. i’d book again but would definitely rather have my lunch and dinner somewhere else.

5 days without cleaning my room, be careful with the free water bottles, they refill them. The worst experience in Cebu

Was here on Nov 25, 2021. Originally checked in at Sotogrande Hotel but got a privilege access to Vista Mar since they have the same owner I think (not sure). Upon check-in at Sotogrande Hotel, staff will give the key card, coupons, etc including a wrist bracelet pass that allows you to enter Vista Mar. Was able to access 3 of their swimming pools and dine in their exclusive restuarant at night. Their beach is really clean and the sand is fine. Staffs are friendly too.
