I took my wife here because she likes seeing how people lived in the past and how their living arrangements are different/ the same and we got a great glimpse of that here. We did take our kids and they tolerated them sitting on the ground since they got tired of standing lol.

If you're in Laramie, this is a place well worth a stop to see! Stop in the carriage house behind the mansion to get a ticket for a tour that starts on the top of each hour when they are open. The mansion is an amazing example of Victorian architecture and it is filled with period antiques. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and we really enjoyed the visit.

It would be incredibly useful to put something like "hourly tours, tickets sold behind house" in the details section of this page

Beautiful outdoor area. My wife's fandom group had a marriage vow renewal ceremony there. "Marry me in Laramie"

We visited the Ivinson Mansion on Sat Oct 28th, for the Halloween tour. There was a delightful student who was kind enough to share all kinds of information about the History of the Mansion. I wish I had gotten his name, because he was very knowledgeable and helpful. Thank you !

This was an amazing place to visit and learn. I homeschool my boys, and we are driving home from Alabama to Nevada . We are visiting historic areas, and this is a must-see. What an eye opener and just wholesome history. We had a great time. The staff was amazing, very informative, and answered all our questions. If you ever find yourself here, take an hr to tour this bit of history. 😁

So grateful for the tour and information. I really enjoy learning about history, and in such a grand house and carriage house! Plus, they have a great gift shop!

Our docent was very knowledgeable. We learned about the Ivinson family and saw amazing antiques. Well worth the time and reasonably-priced tickets.

We took a self-guided walking tour of Downtown Laramie and came across the Plains Museum in the Invinson Mansion. For a small fee we toured the three-storied historical home of one of the wealthiest families of Laramie in it's early years. Our guide led us through the home, telling the story of the home's family, servants and events. If you want to immerse yourself in the rich history of Laramie during the Territorial days to Wyoming's early Statehood, I would highly recommend this museum.
