This is the only place we stopped at to eat while driving through New Mexico. And yes it is a bit off the main road and a bit of a drive through Las Cruces NM., but so worth it. The location looks a bit sketchy, but again it is so worth it. The food was throughly enjoyed by my entire family. And to top it off the service was amazing. This is one location we will always stop at whenever we are in Las Cruces NM.

Food 5/5: Tried the soup Fideos, very flavorful. Thin, tiny, noodles and like a Mexican rice broth. Also had the beef enchiladas w/ red sauce and an over-easy egg. It wasn't spicy to me but my wife initially said it was too spicy for her so we switched. I had the chicken enchiladas w/ green sauce. It too was very good, just not as spicy. Service 5/5: self seating, waitresses help each other and quick service. Food came out quick. Atmosphere 5/5: it's a Cafe but has an authentic vibe to it.

We came here for dinner. Amazing service. The servers were very sweet and they recognize the regulars. I really like my tacos estrallas. My husband ordered Gorditas and they were ok. I wish the meat is more flavorful. Price was reasonable and portion was generous. It got plenty of parking spots behind the building. They don’t serve alcohol though here. Overall I would come back here again.

Absolutely one of the most authentic food experiences you will ever have. Attentive staff. If you only have time to eat at one place in Las Cruces this needs to be it!

Pros: -FAST and friendly service -no overwhelming selections. Just a short solid menu -nice Mexican music -the creamed corn and squash soup is AMAZING Cons: Not so much a con but if you’re looking for something fancy - this ain’t it. It’s just a solid local eatery for fast, cheap, friendly eats.

We had a Taco Salad and a Chicken Fajita Salad and we’re not impressed with either one. The service was okay, but not great. We came because the reviews and ratings were so good - however we are used to having great Mexican food so I don’t see us coming back.

Deliciosa! Traveling through New Mexico and wanted some green and red chili flavors, this hit the spot! Chips and salsa tasty and quick service. We had the chili rellenos, combination plate, and turkey and avocado sandwich. The chili con carne on the combo plate and the chili rellenos were so good! Neither red or green were too hot, but you definitely need to like chili flavor to eat the red 🌶

I went in for breakfast and I was not impressed. There are few options and I thought it was very expensive. We were a party of 4 and we payed $70 plus tip for breakfast. We were mislead by the high ratings. I would say go somewhere else.

Excellent. We wanted some local flavor and this was it! The beef enchiladas with Christmas salsa (red and green) were very flavorful and filling. The barracho beans (?sp) were the best. The combo plate with Chile relleno, taco, and enchilada was equally fabulous! A must when in Las Cruces! Also excellent service!

Our waitress brought us chips and salsa after we were seated. The chips had been heated over an open flame...nice touch and the salsa was spicy, too! I ordered the Fajta Chicken Tacos, and Stephen ordered a Chicken Enchilada. The food was good, but we were expecting it to be more Southwestern Style since we are in New Mexico. The chicken fajitas were tender and filled with cheese and sauce. The veggies were on the side and I ordered the whole pinto beans instead of refried beans.

Food/Taste/Flavor: 5/5 - menudo with flour tortilla was absolutely delicious without being queasy. So flavorful with the acidity, spice, and kick from the chili powders. Very filling so we were full from sharing one Ambience: n/a - ordered food to go. Older shop but lots of customers Service: 5/5 - friendly and super quick service Value for price: 5/5 - quick service, delicious and filling food

What a great find exploring for the first time in Las Cruces! Cozy atmosphere with warm and friendly staff quickly followed up with great New Mexican food. My wife who never eats omelettes stole my initial choice of the chile relleno omelette which was both something a little different and very tasty. So I switched to the huevos compuestas, delightful corn bowls filled with chile and topped with eggs. Christmas style chile of course which both red and green were fantastic. Oh… and my wife couldn’t stop mentioning how good the corn chips with the great salsa were… she’s very picky about corn chips! If in Las Cruces do yourself a favor and try this place. If you enjoy New Mexican food, you’ll not be disappointed!!!

I stopped in on my search for the best tacos. The tacos I ordered were deep fried and a bit greasy, however very tasty! Plenty to fill me up. Staff was nice and polite. I'll definitely come back to try more menu options!

This Cafe was authentic. The atmosphere was right there in the hood where the best food is. The waitress was good but she didn't understand not spicy so keep that in mind. Lol

Salsa was on point, Chile relleno plate was very good. I ordered with ground beef on top and green sauce. Also the Calabacita was perfect. I'll definitely be going back.......great service, great food and reasonable prices.

Its Christmas Eve and we walked in half and hour to closing time starving. They were super nice and sat us. Our waitress was very friendly and did an amazing job. She recommended the Christmas special (Green Chile posole). Really glad she did, it was delicious and perfect for Christmas Eve. Thank you to everyone there!

La Nueva Casita Café deserves a solid five stars for serving the best taco I've ever had. The flavors were absolutely outstanding, and the quality of the ingredients was evident in every bite. The taco was a true culinary masterpiece, and I can't wait to return for another delicious experience at this fantastic establishment. Highly recommended for taco aficionados!

My food was very delicious. I ordered the Estrella Tacos, I think that’s the name. My husband had cheese enchiladas and they were flavorless. He ended up eating my food. Super cute atmosphere, very nice waitresses, order the Estrella tacos.

The food was great! My sister is a chef and said the green chili is awesome and red chili great! I had the specialty tacos and they too were wonderful! Service is the best great people!!!

I’ve been in search of the best chili relleno in El Paso, and of course it’s in New Mexico. Theirs is not over-battered, perfectly cheesed, and pairs incredibly well with the red sauce. My table also had chicken enchiladas and chicken tacos- all fantastic! The red sauce on the enchiladas is a perfect warming spice level with a nice deep flavor- also really well done. And our server was awesome! She was very friendly, helpful, and kept our salsa cups and drinks full. We’ll definitely come back!

I’m from austin and I’m sad we don’t have anything this good and authentic back home. I don’t usually leave reviews but I felt it was absolutely necessary to brag about this place

The chips & salsa are very good. Salsa has just the right amount of kick to it. The green enchiladas do not come with the traditional crema, which is a bit disappointing that you have to ask for it and then wait. My daughter ordered the beef tacos and loved them. I drink tea unsweetened, and it's often hard to find really good unsweet tea because it's often bitter. But the tea here is excellent 👍🏼. It really doesn't need anything else added to it. It gets very busy at this restaurant because of their high rating on Trip Advisor, so it's likely you'll have to wait to be seated. We waited about 30 minutes, then service was a bit slow because it was so busy. They have a good amount of parking located behind the building and it's free.

This was our first time trying La Nueva Casita since we were passing through Las Cruces. The food was hot and fresh and the waitress was amazing and kept our drinks and chips and salsa filled. The desserts were super good and all the portions were perfect! Great service, prices and food tastes homemade
