Rooms are very outdated for a $200 a night hotel. I had no microwave or fridge in my room, things that I thought were pretty standard these days. Even worse was the AC! It hardly worked. I couldn't get the room to cool down at all, and in New Mexico that's a big turn off. It was also hard for me to find a place to charge my phone since there was only one available outlet in the whole room, which wasn't even near the bed! Service was just okay. At one point I had the "do not disturb" sign hanging but the room keeper still called on the phone and told me they are waiting outside my room with robes they forgot to put in the room. Like was it really that important? The only good thing I can really think of is the location. It's great. The hotel is right across from the mall and lots of restaurants within just a 5 minute drive. But there are other cheaper hotels in the near vicinity anyway, so that's not saying much.

I stayed at this hotel while in town for work. I’ve stayed at heritage properties in Santa Fe and have had a good experience. The property left a lot to be desired. It wasn’t as nice as I would expect. The laminate on the door in our restroom was peeling and not maintained. We requested for our room to be cleaned 3 times and had the service sign on our door but our room was never cleaned. When we got back in the evening (our third call) they said house keeping was gone and couldn’t clean our room. We requested fresh towels twice and never got them. The location was great. The staff was friendly and the property has potential but there are much nicer places to stay in Las Cruces. I don’t know that I’ll stay here again unless other options are exhausted.

We attempted to eat in the hotel restaurant on Saturday evening arriving at about 5:15. There were another 15 or so customers in the restaurant.  After we placed our order, we waited. And waited. And waited. The server assured us that our order was coming out, but it didn't. About an hour and a half later, it was served, but it was served incorrectly. Not focusing on quality like gummy risotto and dry chicken, one person in our party ordered the steak, the only steak I think, without the mushroom  topping, smashed potatoes, and asparagus. The server took the order without comment. What was served was steak with mushrooms, some sort of potato pancake, and no asparagus. We asked the waitress and she said, this is the way the chef says he can make it. It would have been nice to  know that they weren't cooking what was ordered before it was  placed in front of us with no opportunity to order something else. We asked for the chef. He said this was the way potatoes were on the menu. We disagreed and had him look at the menu. He agreed that the potatoes ordered were on the menu, but the menu was wrong. He took the plate and walked away. No offer to redo it. I personally found his arrogant behavior rude. Two members of our party ordered ice cream, which was eventually served the consistency of a milkshake. Regular contacts with the hotel and the corporate office have not resolved the issue. Needless to say, we were very disappointed in the poor treatment and the behavior of the chef, but even more so in the lack of responsive resolution.

I have a single issue complaint. When I checked out and paid my bill I noticed a $15 amenity charge. I asked the clerk about that, saying I had not been told about this before booking the room. She said that it's for use of the common spaces and outdoor pool. It was 40 degrees outside and we did not use the pool and I've never, ever, been charged to use a hotel's "common spaces". Like being charged for using the lobby? I said it is inappropriate to charge a customer for a service without briefing them beforehand. I asked for a refund. They ignored my request. I'm tired of hidden, unapproved by the customer fees, when traveling. I would not stay here again.

Would not recommend staying here at all! We had issues from the moment we arrived. Parking at this property is ridiculous. The tv would just shut off and we kept having to call for maintenance to fix the toilet. The bathroom was so small u could hardly turn around in it. The ice machine was next to our room and sounded like it was dying all night. The water takes so long to heat up u have to start it way before u actually want to shower. We had to finally ask for another room. Never occurred to the staff to offer this on their own. For the price you’d expect some better upkeep. Everything looks old. When I received my credit card statement I noticed a separate charge and was told it was for amenities. So I’m paying to walk through the lobby to my room? We’ll never stay here again.

It should have been a better experience. Disappointing because the bar and hotel was closed on Monday. No breakfast in the restaurant untill Tuesday. The pool area was being maintained and dirty. Some of the furniture in the lobby is stained. The staff was very helpful. The room was large and comfortable but the TV was not seen from the easy chair it was so far inside the cabinet. Sadly I will stay elsewhere for the price next time.

We love this hotel. The staff always goes above and beyond. The food and the margaritas are wonderful. The new restaurant is a great addition and the outdoor patios are so unique! The pool is gorgeous in it’s surroundings. The rooms are very nice. Our shower floor on the 7th floor was scary slippery!? Next year will bring a bath mat for safety. Won’t stop coming, the place is like home!❤️👍👍

This is one of the older hotels in this small resort chain, so it shows in much of the building. It does have a very friendly and accommodating staff. I was surprised by the use of text messages by the front desk to the customers for just about everything(It worked very well). We had a small fridge moved to our room all through texting. The hot tub was awesome at night and the large gas fireplace was nice and surprising as my wife & I were the only people out there on a weekday! Usually businesses would have these items shut down. Great people working here!!😀

EDIT: the manger called me to discuss my experience and was very apologetic and kind. She will address the issues. I appreciated her time and our conversation. I will stay here again. Thank you! We stayed at this hotel over Memorial weekend and I wanted to love my experience, the hotel atmosphere is very beautiful but there were some major issues and no management available during our entire stay and I have been calling and leaving messages for a week including completing their survey with no response. We booked the patio/pool room which was nice except for the broken shower which only produced cold water the entire time. YES cold showers of them to be exact. So I hope no one else gets room 118 or they will have a similar problem. Our room had a nice outdoor seating area to enjoy with friends EXCEPT apparently this pool is a public pool as there as an endless string of people attempting to enter the pool area with their keys “not working” if we saw a key at all. When we asked people to go through the lobby we were cussed at and often kids were instructed by their parents to climb the brick wall and let them all in. Which was ended by the slamming the door and being rude and inappropriate to us for not letting them in. I didn’t know I was paying so much money to be a door man to folks that were overrunning the pool so much so that we could not even get a place to sit there. They were all having big parties, bringing in crock pots and coolers. Of course with all the additional people there were no clean towels available for actual guests. We asked multiple times to speak to a manager and were told they were all on vacation, there was NO ONE running the hotel. We also attempted to have breakfast one morning. The food was cold and what I ordered specifically so that I could enjoy meat that only burnt little crunchy pieces of what I assume must of been meat at some point with cold dry potatoes. The waitress was also the bar tender and completely alone. When we again asked were her manager was and why they were not assisting we were told they are on vacation and there is no one to assist. I have left messages and no one has gotten back to me. The poor folks who stayed in 118 after us I’m sure are enjoying their cold showers. I might have to call my credit card company and dispute the charges because it was completely horrible experience and the last of customer service is mind blowing.

I didn't stay here, this is on behalf of my dogs. my three dogs were let out of the yard and went out for a night on the town. Apparently they wandered in to the hotel, jumped into the fountain, and then went into the bar where they were graciously met by guests and the hotel staff. They were given treats, water, and an entire ballroom to hang out in while the staff notified me and I was able to get them back home safely. They seem like they enjoyed their stay immensely and I'm grateful to the staff for treating them well and getting them back to me.

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Its a beautiful hotel and looked very historical. We had a very nice stay, staff very friendly and room was quiet. Las Cruces is a very cute College town. The University campus is gorgeous and the town has a lot of great restaurants and breweries. Definitely would stay again.

We stayed one night in the Deluxe Terrace Pool Room. The room has been well designed and the terrace area is great. The hotel is an unexpected oasis in the middle of Las Cruces. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Loved the hot tub and outdoor fireplaces, a great touch on cool fall evenings. Breakfast was good and well priced.

We booked a same day, last minute stay on our hunting trip and this beautiful hotel exceeded our expectations! The restaurant was beautiful with swanky vibes but still casual. I wish I remembered our servers name as he was amazing! We had the filet and tuna and both were delicious and they did fantastic accommodating my gluten, dairy and egg restrictions! The front desk staff was delightful, even at 5am. The beds and pillows are very comfortable. Very pleased with our stay!

I attended a fundraiser for a political candidate here recently. I was once again reminded about how well run this popular Las Cruces hotel is. The staff was pleasant, efficient and unobtrusive in a good way during the event. While I've never spent a night here since I'm a long time Las Cruces resident, I'm sure a stay here would be equally as pleasant and comfortable as the event I attended was. The staff seems trained and dedicated to always making their guests feel at ease and having the best possible experience during their time Las Cruces visit.

Nice hotel BUT room did not have a fridge or microwave. The room was good but a few things. Needed a little TLC like the doors cracked outlets. Speaking of outlets. Could have been more. No Free breakfast and no to go menu. It took us 45 minutes to get our breakfast of 2 huevos rancheros. I waitress could not have been slower if she wasn’t moving at all

Fantastic location, great staff, beautiful decor with a pool. The only thing that did not make it a five was no refrigerator in room and bathroom needs to be updated. Will be back looking forward to it! Letty gave us a fantastic recommendation for a local bakery, 👌 👏 😀 👍

From the very minute we walked in greeted by Devon at the front desk we were impressed. Very professional and very nice. Throughout our stay he greeted you and others always checking if your stay was good. We will be back. The maintenance crew was on top of it keeping outdoor fires lit pool area clean it is an absolutely gorgeous hotel. We will be back. We had the King with a terrace. The food in the restaurant was awesome as well. I got not one negative thing I could say about our two day stay. You will love it.

Let me start by stating at Davion at the front desk is incredible. Had the best recommendations and even let us know the hotel had sleds for the white sands instead of having to buy them there. It was much appreciated. The rooms were well sized- not like most you come across these days. Breakfast was superb too. I would 10/10 recommend staying here. Tell Davion I said hi!

This is a great Hotel compared to the big corporate ones and I stay around the country all the time. Extra touches, free water, toiletries in the bathroom in case you forget. A lot of southwest character! Pool SPA (open) and great patios. Don't stay at a corp chain when you can stay here.

Hotel Encanto is beautifully landscaped and has elegantly retained its heritage inside. The staff is universally friendly and helpful. The food is good, and the drinks delicious. It is beautiful and stately like hotels used to be. We have stayed there many times, and we hope to do so again soon.

Such a great experience. The place is beautiful and our poolside room was clean and accessible to their lovely courtyard and pool. The beautiful decor made for some great pictures. The food at the Azul restaurant is delicious. One of the best desserts I’ve had. The staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and definitely recommend.

My stay was great but this Hotel added a 15.00 amenity fee with an explanation that parking and using the facilities nice areas that were once free now cost on top of all the taxes for each night of stay. I do not believe this fee to be reasonable but another way to gouge the customer for more revenue. I loved this Hotel and have stayed their at least 10 times but will no longer stay at the Hotel Encanto. Very sad.

Room had leaking shower & a/c air intake vent (probably mold on carpet). Housekeeping did not clean room one day (3 night/2 day stay), got on phone to call front desk & phone didn't work. Went to front desk and waited 20 minutes to talk with clerk to get housekeeping to deliver towels (room phone still not working at checkout). Breakfast at hotel is carryout food from another location. Food was cold and order was not correct. This WAS our hotel of choice for work and personal stays for years. Not anymore. Granted, this stay may have been a "one-off" but the rooms are outdated and based on the condition of our room, not regularly maintained. On the positive side, Staff was courteous and the pool area is the highlight of this hotel.

"suite" was not sweet. No microwave you have to request a fridge not a c. In a room with a bed. The outdoor space is nice. The pool ,hot tub and fireplace are enjoyable. Next time I'll try a room on the 1st floor with the outdoor space.

We stayed 3 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is so beautiful, very comfortable room, breakfast was delicious, the staff ( everyone we encountered) were very nice, accommodating and I loved that, I’m thinking bell hop?, gave us a history of the hotel. I will definitely stay here again.

Been here twice in 6 months. Beautiful hotel and would definitely come back again next time I come through. Beautiful Mexican ambiance and great staff. Great and beautiful pool. Near a good mall and some great restaurants. Great view of the mountains.

I am so disappointed. I wanted to like this hotel so badly. The hotel itself is beautiful and the customer service is amazing but unfortunately that about ends the list of positives. The room was tiny and filled with cheap looking furniture. The bathroom desperately needs to be updated. There is no fridge, no safe, and no microwave. The only amenity in the room is a single serve kureig, I’m sure they probably charge for the K cups so I didn’t touch it. The pool is incredibly small and doesn’t have near enough seating around it. The water has so much chlorine in it my eyes burned after just a few minutes of swimming and my skin still itches even after showering. The restaurants have the smallest menus I’ve ever seen and the prices are absolutely outrageous. I could go on but that at least covers the most prominent issues. Overall, I should have spent the extra $10 to stay at the Drury.

It was really fun stay, staff were so kind. We made it the jacuzzi a little late and planning to stay for a short while but staff welcomed us to stay longer. Which meant a lot to us. Rooms were clean, and overall enjoyed the stay!

Historic but beautiful property not far from campus of NMSU. Gorgeous outdoor pool and massive patio and deck area surrounding it. Bar and two restaurants, inside and outdoors, as well as conference facilities. Rooms are nice and comfortable with views of fountain and pool. Close to many restaurants and shops and plentiful, secure parking available.

Friendly desk and service staff, including a warm greeting from the bell person. Clean, comfortable room (bed was amazing). Lobby has Southwest charm and New Mexico hospitality. Beautiful view from the property

This hotel has a great pool and patio area and the restaurant is pretty good when it is open. My problem is that there is no refrigerator or microwave in the rooms and there is no pantry available to purchase drinks or snacks. There is a gift shop that sells some items, but well over 25-30% airport prices. And the gift shop is rarely ever open. And never past 3PM. The hotel is located in a sea of mediocre chain restaurants that all close by 8 or 9 so no matter what you do, if you stay here be sure to have dinner first. And bring a cooler.

Comfy room and incredible service. Amenities were wonderful. Only thing we’ll do differently next time is request a room away from service folk’s closet and a room that is not connected to an adjoining room. The baby crying next door got kinda loud, as did his parents

We had another family reunion at Hotel Encanto last week. The rooms were clean and updated, the pool & hot tub were clean and in good working order, the beds were heavenly comfortable, and my dog was accepted and supported in her stay. However, Davion was the one front desk person who was able to clean up the many room billing tangle that we created, and he did so with grace and respect. My mother had double booked and changed around the rooms last minute according to her idea of location and preferences, and the room had been pre-approved at special rates, so the other front desk personnel had them completely mixed up and over charged. We are super grateful to Davion for his superb customer service!

Everything was perfect! No complaints at all and I enjoyed all the beautiful art all over the hotel it is a sight to see. As for the beds and pillows they were the most comfortable that I have had . I slept well and had a great night sleep wake up and not have my body hurt was a plus. I really recommend staying here if you are looking for a nice room. It is a safe place also the location is great the view is amazing pom trees in the landscape. I would stay again

I can see where the reviews are mixed, given we all have different thresholds. For us, it was a GREAT stay. We stayed 2 nights for a family event in town. We come to Las Cruces regularly and have probably stayed at most of the hotels around town - newer to older. Hotel Encanto has a lot of personality. The property is really pretty, the lobby gorgeous with an old world feel to it and lovely Saltillo tile throughout. Yes, the guest room area feels older to some degree and there could be some updating done but our King Terrace room was very nice, comfortable, clean with great sleep quality. I loved being able to sit out on our little patio and drink coffee and stare into the courtyard. The front desk staff, along with any staff that we encountered were genuinely friendly, warm and welcoming. We had a little issue in the room, and maintenance came quickly and took care of it. I visited the cute gift shop that had lots of handmade items from the area and the shopkeeper was very nice and helpful. My only call out was one morning we saw this lady holding the lower pool area gate open and letting (what was clearly local family/friends) non guests in to use the pool. We did not use the pool as we had found it super crowded, maybe because folks are sneaking people in?
