First
if
all,
I
really
like
Holiday
Inn
Express
and
it
is
usually
my
first
choice
when
traveling.
This
HIE
should
be
avoided
at
all
costs.
The
outside
and
lobby
looked
fine.
We
opened
the
door
to
our
room
and
my
heart
sank.
The
carpets
were
thin,
old,
all
full
of
stains.
The
walls
were
banged
up
and
needed
painting.
The
furniture
looked
like
something
from
the
80s.
And
the
room
was
so
small!
We
could
hardly
get
our
bags
inside.
Things
got
worse
when
we
turned
on
the
a/c.
It
was
the
loudest
a/c
I
ever
heard.
Trouble
is
when
it
hit
the
temp
it
made
a
loud
clunk
and
turned
off—then
it
was
dead
silent.
I
knew
it
was
going
to
be
tough
sleeping
that
way.
Another
problem
was
the
train
noise.
At
11:30
pm
on
train
engineer
laid
on
the
horn
and
woke
up
everyone
in
the
room.
Not
to
be
totally
negative,
the
beds
and
bedding
were
outstanding.
The
breakfast
was
good
too.
My
biggest
disappointment
is
directed
to
Corporate.
IHG
should
be
ashamed
of
not
keeping
this
property
up
to
Holiday
Inn
Express
standards.
The
hotel
desperately
needs
an
update.
There
is
NO
way
I
would
stay
here
again.
There
is
a
very
nice
HIE
in
west
El
Paso
that
is
beautiful
and
very
clean.
Drive
a
little
and
have
a
great
stay
there.
