2.5 stars. Lets start with the good, great service with nice staff & thats about it. The food was extremely average, not bad by any means but also nothing I would recommend. The 3 appetizers came out all about 5 minutes apart from each other with the last one pretty much coming out with the main course. The backs of the booths are not supported by anything so if you have someone behind you hope they done move to much. Now onto the house keeping, the sushi counter was littered with different packages of chop sticks, napkins & containers. The bathrooms were clean but again house keeping issues, they couldn’t be bothered clean graffiti off the inside of the stalls & the door latch was very crudely fixed with tape & cardboard giving it a real truck stop vibe, there were cleaning products on the floors there is a gap in the stall right next to the urinal on the outside so there solution was shoving toilet paper in the crack. I think this place has all the capabilities of being great but sadly whoever is running this place needs to get it together. I had a overall ok experience but will not be returning especially at their price point.

We sat at the Hibachi table. The kids and I had a great experience. The food was delicious, the staff friendly, and they gave my daughter a cake for her birthday. It was a fun time. My boyfriend had sushi. I liked the tofu rolls. Really great place. Definitely going back.

Came here for lunch after our golf game at Red Hawk. Wouldn't say it's a nice and decent place, as upon we walked in, the dark ambience made my colleague thought we went in the wrong place 😅 Food was fine from an overseas Japanese cuisine perspective, udon soup and yaki soba both were fine, the Hibashi Fillet Mignon was one dish worth a recommendation. Well, have to mention a little about their services, the guy who took care of our table was fine-nice while he could be a little more friendly.

Place was packed for a Friday. We sat at the grill. That was entertaining. First time sitting at a grill. Positives; good tasty food. Of course served hot. Entertaining with the chef. Negatives: chef spilled the whole bottle of beer on didn’t get comped for another. They dismissed it as if it never happened. Chef was throwing food at customers in the mouth and was about to quiet Saki in the baby’s mouth that was sitting next to us. Dirty place, sticky floors in restaurant and bathroom. Their cleaning supplies was out in the open. They took for ever to bring our drinks. Was not impressed with the way they ran their business and entertainment. 🤘🏼🖤

Amazing! It's a little overwhelming ur first time because there are so many choices, but I highly recommend sitting at the Hibachi. We had a blast and the food was amazing. We will DEFINITELY be back!

Moved here last month from Pittsburgh, by way of Chicago, by way of Texas. Sushi is my favorite food, preferably simple and fresh. I eat it weekly, so moving to LC, I had to ask around about good spots and Sakura was recommended to me. Disclaimer, I’ve only had it delivered via DoorDash, and that being said I would rate it a solid 4-stars for delivery sushi in Las Cruces. This is not Chicago, obviously - we are in a relatively small desert town and the supply chain situation probably doesn’t lend itself to the most affordable, freshest fish (I can’t get 2-day Amazon Prime delivery!). So I’m very satisfied given the situation! After about 5-6 orders now, my go-to is the simple tuna roll and salmon roll, with cream cheese rangoons. I have tried 2-3 more special rolls, and I didn’t love them (it’s not usually my choice). I am also usually a spicy tuna ride or die, but I actually did not like the one here (too much tempura/crispy filler). The sushi/nigiri was okay, salmon and tuna was best, yellowtail was okay. I think the simple tuna and salmon rolls are the most forgiving to the fish and they really hit the spot. I’ll order some ikura sashimi to top the salmon too if I’m feeling fancy. I will say - 9/10 on the crab Rangoon! I was hesitant because Pittsburgh had horrible rangoons, but these are crispy, the sweet chile sauce is among the best I’ve had, and the only thing is that there’s not much more than cream cheese inside. If you’re mad at that, don’t order them, but if you expect more cream cheese than anything they are great. I’ll continue to order from here, it satisfies my sushi cravings!

Very expensive for how little sushi you get. Did not used to be this way. The 4 mini rolls in this picture was $70!!! Pretty disheartening when the owners all park new Porsches and Mercedes cars out front. It's ok to make money but don't rip off your customers with small portions. Fish tasted "dusty" too....not fresh.

This place was an ok place to eat…. We were invited by my brother in law and his wife. Our time together was Great! The food was, ok! The building looks attractive on the outside but dated on the inside.

Vibrant and boisterous ambiance. Consistent service. Wide food and drink selection for a variety of tastes. Amazing presentation. Spring rolls are fresh. Onion soup unique and flavorful. Great value for the money. It’s a no-brainer to come here repeatedly! Featured pic is the Party For 4 sushi platter, 6 rolls of sushi for only $42.

Driving thru Las Cruces on our way to San Diego, was uber hungry, like everyone else in the car, we originally set out for another place, however they where closed. Our driver had noticed Sakura and suggested we go there. OH MY GOSH… This place is a hidden GEM! We ordered the Dynamite Roll, New Mexico Roll, Mountain Roll and Volcano Roll… all was excellent, our waitress was super friendly and helpful. I’ll also suggest the white peach sake, edamame, avocado salad and the soups… This will definitely be a place we stop at for lunch or dinner whenever we’re in the area.

Went for a late lunch today. We both ordered the Yaki Soba Noodles with steak. It was ok. Nothing to rave about. It came with a soup or salad. We opted for the salad. It was just chunks of iceberg lettuce with a watery, orange colored dressing. I had to add a lot of salt and pepper just to add a bit of flavor. Our meal came out in a reasonable amount of time. The noodles were nothing special. Basically just ramen noodles with onions and chunks of steak that were like pieces of shoe leather. Absolutely no flavor. We had to add quite a bit of soy sauce to the noodle. I ended up bringing my home in a box so I could add some veggies and garlic chili sauce. It was pretty good after that. I have eaten at fast food places that were much better than this. Save your money and just buy the yaki soba noodles at the store. It tastes about the same.

I ordered a blue crabmeat avocado and got primarily an imitation crab meat avocado with flecks of blue crab, it tasted horrible and I complained, the management did not want to do anything to satisfy me like remove it from the bill. I let them know the other food I ordered was fair and tasted okay. When I told them I did not want to pay for an item that was clearly not what I ordered they insisted I did get what I asked for and threatened to call the police. This is not a place I would recommend to anyone who has sent back a dish that was poorly prepared or misrepresented on the menu. Both were the case in this situation. There was no customer service. Just owner self indulgence. 0 stars is gracious I was forced by the program to give at least 1

The sushi is pretty good! The gyoza is great!! They offer indoor dining with regular seating and hibachi seating. They have a lot of rolls to choose from. The turn around time for food is quick and the staff are really friendly. :)

I ordered a classic- miso soup. Then smoked salmon sashimi, tuna sashimi & salmon sashimi. Everything was absolutely fresh, and delicious. All of the sashimi was yummy, but the star of the show was the regular salmon sashimi! It melted in my mouth & the piece was thick & beautiful. Highly recommend this place 👌

We’ve only had take out and sushi from Sakura so I can’t speak for other items on the menu, the service or atmosphere. We just moved to LC and I was happy to see that there was a highly rated Sushi restaurant near us. Unfortunately, it’s very expensive eating from this place that I don’t think we’ll do much of it. The rolls that are cheaper (in comparison to others on their menu) are very small and the more expensive ones are an okay size. For 2 small rolls and 2 decent sized ones we paid almost $50 and we were still hungry after. The sushi itself is good, not great, but good. We’ll probably try other sushi places around here and hopefully we have a better experience.

Some of the best sushi and sake I’ve had in a while! Our waitress was so friendly and kind and very efficient. We were only traveling through town, so finding such a gem in a city we knew nothing about was such a highlight.

Sakura offers exceptional food and service, making it a great culinary experience. The flavors and presentation of their dishes are outstanding, showcasing the chefs' dedication and skill. The staff is attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, enhancing the overall dining experience. However, the restaurant could benefit from updating its atmosphere, as the decor feels dated and the lighting could be improved. Despite this, Sakura Restaurant is still highly recommended for its delectable cuisine and top-notch service.

First time coming to this Japanese steak house, we've been to many, and this one was the best. Our server was very kind and fast. Our cook was funny, energetic and made us delicious food. I mean everything was cooked perfect. Will definitely be back.

I thoroughly enjoy this place! The staff are quick and helpful and the food is super fresh and tasty. Definitely a gem amongst the other somewhat subpar options

Love this place! Just switched favorite sushi restaurants for sure. The sashimi is FRESH and tasty, not an easy thing to find in Las Cruces. And the prices won't put a hole in your pocket. Highly recommend!

I came for Father's day and it was a great experience. Our server was really nice and she made sure we were happy. I've never had hibachi here but the sushi is really good.

I was not impressed with the chicken tempura lunch. Two very skinny chicken strips, with very little chicken. It looked like a child's chicken plate. It was crispy but lacked flavor. Vegetable tempura ok, also lacked flavor. The round, fried shrimp were good. Onion soup was served cold. Salad and dressing were good. California rolls are not traditional. They are skinny with no flavor. The restaurant is very dark. The service was great.

Wonderful, sushi and scallops teriyaki. To top it all off at the end of my stay there the waitress told me that the two women at the table next to me had paid for my meal! I don’t know if it was a random act of kindness, or that they overheard that my brother was having surgery when I was talking on the phone. In any case, thank you so much you wonderful people!
