We recently got married in Las Terrenas and while exploring the area the year before, we stumbled upon el Loro as it was near our AirB&B. From the first time we stopped by, the staff was friendly, attentive and very accommodating including finding ways to serve us breakfast after regular service hours. The food was always fresh and delicious becoming our default go-to while we were there. Therefore, when it came time to decide on a place to bring our guests the day after our wedding, The Loro was a no-brainer. We hosted our post-wedding brunch at El Loro last month and it was a fantastic experience! Alice Bunetto was incredibly easy to work with and was super open to our ideas. Since most of our guests were not Dominican, we wanted to treat them to something different and worked with her team to create a version of the Dominican Chimichurri (a traditional street sandwich, not the Argentine sauce) among other treats and an assortment of cocktails and beers that our guests absolutely loved. The folks at El Loro set up tables, chairs and a buffet station under the shaded side of the beach restaurant making the experience feel private and relaxing. Most of our guests stay there way after the brunch was over enjoying the bar and the beautiful beach. The Loro has become a mandatory stop for us whenever we are in Las Terrenas!

The El Loro also operates a very, very noisy beach club that keeps guests of the neighboring Hotel Alisei awake until 2 a.m. . Respectless.

Enjoyed several breakfasts here and each time was excellent. Friendly service and smiles. Good quality food, fresh fruit, and nice seating area. Visited the beach bar and received great, friendly service and a delicious margarita 😁.

We tried the beach bar, waiter tried to cheat me for the price of drinks, until I showed him the menu card with the prices printed, and when I asked for a receipt for my drinks the prices got correct, dont trust them!!! The beach is nice Edit after answer from owner: I spoke spanish with the waiter, so there was absolutly no misunderstandling in language, he was 100% trying to cheat me

We came with family of 8-9 people. Mahi-mahi (dorado) was good. Red snapper that I ordered grilled wasn’t fresh. It was hard to chew 😵‍💫 After we ordered drinks, we waited around 30 min to receive them.. though only 1-2 tables were apart from ours. I and some people became nervous and I reminded to the waitress about the drinks.. it seemed that she forgot to ask the barman as she only then started preparing them.

Good place for a beach drink. Prices are good a just at the beach.

Great place to stop before having dinner. We had a couple of cocktails and enjoyed the sunset. Friendly staff.

We had outstanding crab tagliatelle and a shrimps with rice here. The restaurant is very beautiful. Waitress lady with big earrings always smiles in the most charming way.

Very good pina colada at the beach, but tasted less good when we ordered the other day in the resto. Instead of buddha bowl they didn’t have we took fried rise and veggie burger. The rise was over salty average, the burger had weird consistency. I would not recommend the food much..

I haven’t been there yet but it’s on my list to go places but after reading some customer reviews they have very poor customer service when it comes to replying to some reviews of you want your business to grown you don’t tell the customer he’s wrong even if he’s wrong that’s where customer service comes in you got to treat every one with top of the line service that’s what keeps customers coming back and most importantly telling others about your place now a days bad reviews can do a lot of harm to any business so I recommend you the owner be more professional and more polite when writing back to some negative reviews if I was you when I have a complaint I’ll give the customers a 50 % gift card to be used anytime later in the future because you can have the mice’s restaurant but if you don’t have customers you have nothing

The food was ok, staff was nice and I can forgive the tip is automatically included on the bill, but the prices are without taxes. This was negative surprise for me. Start to be honest with customer, please!

Very chill vibe. We sat by the beach. The drinks were good, beera were cold and coffee (cafe con leche) was amazing. We also had coconut water from freshly cut coconut. Everyone enjoyed the food. Service was great. Would come again.

The beach and the beachbar are awesome, staff is very friendly and the drinks and food are really good! They match even the high expectations we had! Robert is best! Can fully recommend the place :)

Best restaurant in Terrazas, can eat with the sand at your feet for the most romantic sunset dinners ever, check out those Sunsets!!!

It's a lovely restaurant but sadly the food is not. I ordered the linguini with clams and it was tasteless. My partner ordered red snapper and had to send it back as it was bad. They sent out another fish which was tasty and perfectly cooked. Service is good minus the kitten at our feet and the dogs in the restaurant. Sadly, we'll not be back.

Food was made to order. It needed some more flavor but it was okay. The appetizer came after the meal so it wasn't finished. A few vegetarian options pictured here.

This one was a miss. Ordered grilled shrimp with grilled vegetables and a side of mashed potatoes. Got five small bites of shrimp that wouldn't feed a cat at our feet, a small lump of mashed potatoes, and two small roasted cherry tomatoes. Waiting time 1 hour 48 minutes, the bill would cover three decent meals in any other place within 3 km radius.

Casual restaurant at a nice hotel. Enjoyed their buffet breakfast. Friendly staff. Dinner took an extremely long time to prepare but it must be the Caribbean way. Food was good.
