this was a great place to say and all the service was exceptional. When we went into our first room it was filled with ants and probably because of a heavy rain however they were super friendly and accommodating and let us know they would change your room and make sure to spray it so we would have no problems with bugs. Obviously things like this happen when you’re on an island. Nature is intense. However the important part of this is that the service was exceptional. Everyone in the entire hotel was super friendly. The food was all right, not the best however it was fresh and there was a lot of variety. The beach was so beautiful and it was great to be able to have water activities like paddle boarding etc . I had a really great time with my family and I absolutely recommend it to anyone going to Samana

Pretty disappointed at our stay here. You are first greeted here with staff that doesn’t want to work. Only have about 3 friendly people in the entire resort. Also was approached by members of the staff to offer me private tours not included in the resort. There is a lingering smell of waste water in the hallways as you go into your room that doesn’t go away. The “waterfront” room was 3/4 of a mile away and maybe with binoculars you can see the water. Our room was damp and the AC quit working at about 3am our last night so we checked out as early as we could. The toilet paper roll was wet with “brown water” so we had to toss it as if nobody checked our room before we walked in. We didn’t mention any of this to the staff since every time we mentioned anything they seemed bothered. Looks like management needs to step it up here. Las Terrenas is beautiful and a trip around the area and mountains makes it all better but the stay at this resort was not worth it.

It was our first Adult only resort in DR and we weren't disappointed. Perfect location beautiful grounds always maintained and clean. It was great that we didn't need to hunt for beach towels you can just grab them near the pool and drop them to the same place. And there are always plenty of them . We stayed in bungalow highly recommended if you want privacy and quite place. The customer service is great whenever we had small issues they were addressed fast and always with the smile . The food was good always versatile. Would be great to have more musicians coming playing in the resort not only Spanish singers .

The staff: The staff was not friendly at all!!! We tried being nice and polite always saying please and thank you and no one ever even acknowledged us or responded back. They all seemed to be mad about having to work at the resort. There were only 3 people who we came across that were friendly but other than that everyone was rude. No one seemed to want to help and it felt like you were being a bother to them when you asked for something as simple as a spoon. The rooms: Rooms smelled of mold/humidity as well as the pillows and towels (as if they were left in the washer too long). The TV worked but couldn’t turn the volume up but we could not turn it off nor disconnect it which meant we had to sleep with the TV on because our phone didn’t work to call the front desk and it was late and were too tired to walk down to the lobby. The next morning we went to the lobby to tell them of our issues and were told they would fix it. They did not, we went again later that night after noticing and the phone technician was not in so it would have to wait until the next day but they did send out someone to fix the TV. The phone was never fixed the entirety of our stay. Could not order room service. So annoying! Food: food was bland (even at the reservation restaurants), they always ran out of plates, tables were not set on time, needed to request utensils and napkins several times before getting them, and always had to hunt waitresses down for drinks when eating at the buffet. Bars: drinks were not tasty at all….and they did not prepare the drinks like they should (lacked ingredients). Everyone made drinks differently, their own way, and at 2 different times there were 2 bartenders who didn’t know what I was for (even though it was on the menu) and didn’t know how to make it….they had to look at the menu to see what ingredients to use. Entertainment: entertainment was boring and did not have much. The app showed many activities throughout the day but only saw a couple of them actually happening and it was the same thing every day. The entertainment staff acted like they were guests at the resort, one of the female staff had a tumbler and I saw her hand it to the bartender and I thought she was getting water but he filled it with beer and neither was being discreet about it. I guess they’re allowed to drink in the job? Also, they go to the nightclub at night to dance with the guests dressed in their own personal attire which was fine, but I did notice some of the guys approaching women and flirting and seemed to have an attraction between them…they would go out and “talk” outside and leave and come back. I thought was not appropriate as staff members. All in all, I was not impressed with the resort and staff, this made me not want to go back.

We had a very bad experience in this place, we arrived yesterday to the states, we couldn't wait to be back home. I would not recommend to anybody. To start the rooms had a humidity smell every time you walk into the room. The waitress/waiters were not at all friendly, it looked that they were bothered by working in the hotel. Although I must say that some people in the front desk were polite and very welcoming. The food was TERRIBLE, it felt like it was pre heated all the time. NO FRESH food AT ALL. Even the restaurants where you needed to make reservations for the food was not tasty or fresh, except for the Fusion restaurant which was the only place where we were able to have a decent piece of steak. The buffet was HORRIBLE, again nothing was fresh, and it seemed like the same food from breakfast was served for lunch, my husband got very sick really stomach pains and diarrhea. No doubt it was food poisoning. NEVER COMING BACK TO THIS PLACE. The only good thing was the beach, the scenery that we got to see when we were being transferred from the airport to the hotel, and the driver who was very friendly other than that we were very unsatisfied with the service and the food. This hotel should have a 2 star rating. I don't understand how it reached the 4 star rating.

Wonderful situation in the middle of a tropical forest and with a private beach. Even if there is another resort next to it, you fell it’s just for yourself. The rooms are basic but comfortable, air con works perfectly fine and water pressure is good. The little balcony was appreciated. Resort itself has good facilities with a nice pool with Bali beds, a beach bar next to the beach and a beach volley court as well as body boards, surf boards and stand up paddle. However, the staff wasn’t friendly at all. It’s not a 4 or 5 stars standard. I was surprised to see that for an international brand like Wyndham. The worst was at the lobby where you feel like you are disturbing the guy when you check-in. Staff at the restaurant need more training as well. Food was very very disappointing unless for the last night where it was good. We asked if they changed chef and they actually did. I put 5 stars because even if the service was bad I enjoyed my time there, the situation of the hotel is just amazing and we made good friends there.

I just spent a week here and just had to share my experience since there were so many negative reviews. I am genuinely shocked that so many people complained about this place, the food, and the amazing people who work here. I genuinely believe that those individuals are just unhappy people who bring their unhappiness with them wherever they go. This resort is absolutely beautiful. The beach is pristine, it was never overcrowded or chaotic. It was perfectly balanced with fun and relaxation. The staff was attentive and very kind. We especially appreciated Gelso our server for dinner every evening and Jefrey & Jordan who made sure we had a great time every day. The music does go until 1am but it is barely noticeable in the room. We had a blast dancing every night at the discoteca and enjoyed delicious food every day all day long. Our room was clean, cool, and the mini bar was restocked every day. So please, disregard the Negative and give this place a try. It was stunning and the people make it even better. My genuine thanks to the staff who took great care of us.

What can I say about this place. Overall its not a bad resort to stay if you are in Dominican Republic. The beach is probably the nicest one I've been to EVER. And the rooms and overall resort is very nice and clean. The resort has very good entertainment and the shows that they put on are very good. The staff doesn't seem totally interested in the guests. Especially when you are getting drinks by the bar, and sometimes at the various restaurants. Also probably the worst and strangest part of this resort is the amount wandering CATS and DOGS around the resort. This is the weirdest thing I ever seen and no one seems to care. There's this one restaurant by the beach that is just filled with CATS wandering around WHILE YOU EAT. I cannot let that slide and to be honest I wont be coming back to this place. Nice resort, but get rid of the wandering animals for christ sake!

please everyone be careful with the photographer who works for the hotel. While photographing women, he likes to reach into your bikini. It's disgusting that something like this can happen in a hotel, I made a complaint, but I'm not sure it reached the boss.. The incident happened in October and I haven't forgotten it since. It is unbelievable that such a person can work for a hotel. Very bad experience. Never going back into this hotel!!! I do not recommend it if you are a woman!!!

Don,t be fooled with the star rating provided by the operators. It is at most 3 stars comparing to other resorts. We are still here. The first impression when we entered the lobby was Oops... instead of WOW! It just did not look like a 4 star resort which means that we definitely overpaid. The room is extremely small only fitting a bed, like a room in a cheap stay and flight hotel. No sofa no chairs. There are chairs outside, but if you want to watch TV, the only option is to sit on the bed. The AC does non work. You can turn it on/off without automatic temperature control. The first night I was awaken because the temperature in the room went down to 18 C. Fortunately the weather is not hot, so we do not need to use it any more. 😁 Even in the lobby bar they serve cocktails in cheap terribly looking plastic glasses. Probably not a big deal, but we are in a 4 star resort. 😁 However - Don't worry be happy. If that's happened that you are there just enjoy and try to take everything from your vacation! 😁 The stuff is friendly and is better than in the other places, but we prefer to never expect too much. 😎 Just remember this is not Mexico. I have nothing to say about the beach because the weather is not good. The buffet is OK, no lines at all. The food at the a la carte restaurants is great and we have not had any issues with reserving them.

We had a wonderful time! Stayed a full week at the beginning of July and came home refreshed (and slightly tan). The beaches are emaculate and the water was gorgeous. There are several shallow reefs for snorkel near the shore, or kayak over to see the sea life. At night, we had some great singers for entertainment....not to mention the food! I really expected it to be subpar, but even the buffet was delicious. The workers seems happy to be there (please be sure to tip) and everything was very clean and organized. I wouldn't hesitate to visit again and highly recommend couples to visit.

The beach was has a lovely long walk, the resort is small and easy to navigate and the entertainment was excellent. The service people were very friendly and pleasant, but I would like to especially commend Wagner, the water sports supervisor.I was floundering and off balance in the high waves and he came running across the beach to lift me out of the ocean. He was not on duty as a lifeguard - he was just super alert to a possible problem. After that, he was extremely friendly and sociable. He is an excellent dancer and in the evening always asked the guests to dance and made the evening fun. My friends and I went on the catamaran ride with him and he took good care of us. Although we spoke different languages, his warmth and kindness came through. You are lucky to have someone of his caliber on staff.

Not sure how this resort got 4.5 stars. I’d be very generous to give it 3 stars. Staff don’t want to work (doesn’t matter if you tip them or not). The rooms were cleaned daily but if they forget to leave you towels or toilet paper it’ll take forever to have someone bring you what you’re missing. We had to call 3 times over 2 hrs to get toilet paper. The table mats they put on tables during breakfast are absolutely disgusting, you can see black mold on the edges as if they were never cleaned. during dinner we witnessed on multiple occasions a filling spoon would fall on the ground and they will wipe it with a cloth and put it right back to use. The beach bar would only rinse used cups with water and put them back on the clean rack. The food wasn’t that great it was good “Cuba” standard. The bathrooms near the reception and near the beach smell like waist water all the time. We would for sure visit Samana again but definitely we’ll avoid this resort.

Had an amazing time, because it was down seasons the resort was not as busy which we enjoyed immensely! Staff were super friendly and accommodating. I overdosed on the fruits so fresh and flavourful. Only thing I would improve if the wifi in the resort, but other then that had a great time!

From the moment my husband and I arrived we felt like VIP’s. The staff was very friendly, professional, personable. We recommend a bungalow when booking if available. Everything was as described and pictures matched what was at the property. When they say all inclusive they mean ALL INCLUSIVE, alcohol, food, pool, beach access. The buffet changes every day. All three restaurants are excellent as well as the snack bar. I would definitely recommend this property. Things to know: if you fly into Puerto Plata it’s 3 hours from the hotel, the hotel offers excursions I recommend the Las 3 Playas, there is multiple excursions and they do offer transportation from the hotel

Beautiful resort! Important to note that the airport close to the resort doesn’t have flights from the US all year round so we had to fly in to Santo Domingo which ended up being about a 2 hour drive to the resort - the resort provides a ride you can purchase which was very straight forward. The food at the resort was good! We found that although the restaurants (which you reserve a spot for once you get there) had pretty good food it was just as good quality to just go to the buffet instead of waiting for your food at the restaurant(s). The room service was great, the beach was amazing, the massages were professional and relieving, the excursions available were lots of fun

Excellent resort! We had a great time and it was very LGTBQ+ friendly!! Our stay was over New Year's and they threw a great party for the guests! The pool and beach were very nice, a lot of available seating, good food and drinks and clean rooms. The Animacion staff were absolutely excellent, especially Giuliana, Lola, Aldana, Ludmi, Speedy and Betty! Great energy and always making sure we had fun. Our highlights were the Silent Disco, Acrobatic show and learning to surf. Would go back for sure!

Not sure how this hotel has a four star rating but this is at most a two star hotel! The scenery is beautiful and the pool but that’s where it ends for me. The hospitality in this place is disgusting! They ignore you when you try & get there attention, some of the staff have attitudes, some of them look as if they don’t want to work. When you go the buffet that has poor variety and try to get a drink they take forever to get to you! I even got up once to serve myself water and a lady told me to have a seat they’ll bring it to me & waited an extra 10-15 min for it! There is a tall Spanish guy that serves coffee that not once bothered to come to our table & serve us any coffee but proceeds to go to the table next to us! I was with a group of 18 people & we all said the same thing! Not one of us will be returning at this hotel which says alot about this place!

Before arriving I read the reviews and was ready for the disappointment. Even though room did smell not very good because of humidity, and was a bit oudated we had a wonderful time! The beach, ocean and view are incredible. Entertainment team are so amazing, they kept everyone busy and entertained all the time, especially when it was raining. Food was good! Our top choice was pizza, it was delicious. And we loved cocktails (especially bahama mama😁) Again, we didn’t spend much time in the room, as we were enjoying our vacation. There were shows and parties every night. We are completely satisfied. Definitely recommend

We haven't even been here more than 3 days and I am giving this place a 5/5 star. The staff is amazing and always have something fun planned with great friendly attitudes. I do not feel pushed into buying or doing anything either if we don't want to. The set up here makes everything part of the scenery blending each other and its absolutely gorgeous. Everyone is super laid back and it has a very relaxing vibe. The dj at night was fire! The food here is 10/10 and the beach is gorgeous. At this resort you have the mountains on one side to look at and the beach on the other. Take a walk down the left side of the beach a ways and you'll find a swing that goes over the ocean and a flat beach to run on. So cool

One of the best all inclusive I’ve had. Wonderful place to relax. Good food, cleanly rooms and friendly staff. Highly recommended and We will be back to visit again in the near future.

Wow! What an experience! The only bad thing about the stay was that the road that leads to the hotel was under construction and did not have an access road; however, once you are on the hotel grounds, you are on paradise on earth! The hospitality of Juan at the front desk, to the hospitality of Daniel at the buffet bar and to the attention to detail and finding ways to accommodate our big group celebration of Hanser and Evelyn, this place is truly magical because of the amazing amenities and personnel. Truly looking forward to coming back in the near future.

I want to start this off with saying that upon arrival of this resort we were amazed on how beautiful the grounds were. Once checked in we were brought to our ocean view room where the view was nice! We decided to take a tour of the property , where we immediately were ambushed by a gentleman who seemed overwhelmingly excited to offer us a free one hour couple massage at the spa along with a gift package for attending a no commitment 15 minute seminar member invitation. The next day we met with another person who after 2 hours of questioning us tried to convince us to buy a membership with viva for 9K. Once declined everyone’s attitude changed and proceeded to rush us out the office with a $30 gift card towards the spa….We then took a dip in the pool that seemed never to be cleaned and was full of yellow foamy substance and tons of bugs. The entertainment was very lousy and consists of 5 people. The FOOD was a big reason I wouldn’t return. It did not Match the image of the hotel. Items were always cold, bland or just salty. All the restaurants had very limited options so we always ended up at the buffet. To be honest the best thing we ate was room service breakfast. And if you are coming for the “all inclusive” drinks, that doesn’t match up either. I was excited to see a few bottles of mid tier liquor only to find out they are for “club members only”. So as a result we had to drink the best cheap liquor they had which was watered down Brugal añejo. All in all the service was very lousy and staff seemed overwhelmed and overworked. I either got an attitude when asking for anything and their was always a long line with one bartender at 2 bars on opposite sides of the hotel. (Very inconvenient) I wonder who is the general manager of this hotel because I hope he reads this. Not at all the experience I expected, especially from a small resort. I wouldn’t come back to this hotel especially for the overpriced pricepoint. After doing a lot of research before arriving, this hotel was very disappointing. I expected a lot more especially with all the good reviews. I’d rate 2/5 stars. 2 stars are for the grounds being contemporary and modern. I think I’ll try sublime next time which is next door to this hotel, they aren’t all inclusive but Ive heard that service and food is 5 star.

Very friendly staff since the whole crew I was traveling with came in until the day we left. No reservations needed for specialty restaurants, just getting in and getting a sit in a couple of minutes. Activities staff they know their stuff and not overwhelming. Staff at the buffet were setting up our sits and table all the time. Would visit it again!

Since first day that we arrived we were given the wrong room we had requested an ocean view with two double beds and I was given a King bed in no Ocean view. In order to fix this they upgraded me to a bungalow however the bungalows A/C Not working and the plung pool was dirty. We reported this to management the A/C was fixed the same day however the plunge pool they advised me that had a plumbing problem for days and they would not be able to fix it. Next morning the refrigerator in the room was leaking this was reported to management at 7:30 in the morning and reported three times during the day. At 5 PM I went into the room and didn’t see the water all over the room, I slipped and fell. The staff was very nice they sent me a bottle of champagne to the room they followed up on my fall they fixed the refrigerator immediately they sent a plate of fruit . The food was OK but other than that I would not stay at this hotel again.

Very cosy, beach is wonderful , relaxing places, beautiful garden, food and beverages are very good. Location is perfect for holiday. Recommend this hotel . Later edit... We were invited to a presentation at the reception of the Viva Club concept. In the final of presentation , chief Christian spoke very badly, aggressively. He didn't know we understood and spoke Spanish. The gentleman who gave us the presentation was very nice, kind, he did the presentation very well but this concept is not our style. This chief is a big minus and a disappointment for Viva Wyndham.

The hotel is very nice. The garden, pool, beach and restaurants would get 5/5 points. Unfortunately the room we had (1104) was not so good. The main problem was the air conditioning, which smelled very strong, so we had to turn it off. We asked at the reception if someone can check it. After the check it was slightly better but still smelled bad. We heard the same issue als from some other guest, but to be fair, we also meet guests without this issue. Another annoying thing for us, were the sales man in the area of the reception, who want to talk you into some timesharing contracts with the hotel brand. For us it is fine to ask once, but we started that we had no interest and still got asked by them every day, if we want to join an info seminar.

We arrived on NYE - The resort was gorgeous, beautiful pool/ grounds / beach area clean and not busy at all. We met some amazing staff - Hanser, Deter and Francisco who kept us well fed and laughing. And the Activities team are truly lovely, engaging people (Jordan, Hendry, Roberto, Luis, Janko, Mary, Johanna, Jefrey, Daley). The Silks Acro show by Roberto and Hendry was incredible, never seen anything like that in resort entertainment. Bravo! The a la Carte restos had a some delicious items on the menu. The buffet or Beach Bar not so much. And forget asking there or Room Service for Vege / Vegan options - there are none. One of our party got food poisoning from lobster paella at the Gala…and spent the next day puking I’m the room, the Dr was no help and any requests to Front Desk went ignored. All in all, the beds were comfortable, bathrooms well equipped, great shower water pressure. The plunge pool was clean but never used. I’d have liked to sit in the private patio but the bed and chair cushions smelled moldy. Would be helpful if the awning could be retracted to allow some sunlight to the patio area. It would have been nice if the staff could have arranged or removed some beach chairs to reduce the clutter and clean up the area but totally understand that resources may be limited with Covid. Special Thank You to our new friends Wilson, Santo and Ronny, great to meet you all.

The hotel is very well located. It’s a few minutes from the downtown area of Las Terrenas and the beach next door has a little beach hut/ restaurant by the beach that’s fenomenal. The hotel food - either one of the restaurants - is terrible. We had to go out to eat every night outside of the hotel. The breakfast was ok. Las Terrenas downtown has a restaurant called Le Tre Caravelle - fenomenal - make reservations in advance. The hotel service was mediocre. There’s no quality control at all. We called numerous times for more towels, no soap, tv malfunction, door doesn’t lock, laundry service, etc. Sit down and wait - hours will pass by before the attendants come to your room. The room smelled really bad after the second night - moldy. The hotel power also went out while in the shower. I suppose that the main electrical panel could not support the amount of lights put on for the NYE event. While waiting in the lobby for our excursion, employees held hands and kissed each other. What else can I say. The pool is not heated, neither the hot tub or private jacuzzi inside our room. - Do not pay for the upgrade to have a private jacuzzi. Unless you are going in July / August - the jacuzzi is a waste as it’s freezing.

The hotel is more beautiful than the images! The entertainment and sports staff members were amazing. They made our stay worthwhile, never a dull moment. We spent the holidays there and they made our time there feel like we were home with family. I will never forget the shows, the dances and the activities. Thank you for the birthday shoutouts. The activities were well organized. I would like to give a special shoutout and thank you to Jordan, Wagner, Jendry, Jeffrey, Nicol, Deylin and Mari. Please look out for them when you plan to stay next time, they are pleasant, friendly and entertaining. Thank you entertainment team for loving your job! There was no other way I would have loved to spend my birthday! The beach was wonderful, the kayaking was fun and the acrobats amazing! Additionally, I want to thank Joel the bartender at the club for also being extremely personable. The hotel was clean, food was excellent and activities well organized! I hope to plan a trip here soon and will tell everyone about my experiences!

Nice hotel ,perfect location just on the clean beach. Great service. Taking that all into consideration I really don't understand why they spoil so much the "juices "served for breakfast. It is just coloured water and so in the country with the richness of excellent and cheap fruits
