I booked this hotel based on the good reviews but was quite disappointed. Las Terrenas is great but this hotel sort of ruined the experience. It’s feels too much like an ibiza-wannabe place, ridiculously overpriced filled with arrogant french people and no longer like i’m in the DR. Location wise we also didn’t enjoy it, too far from all the fun stuff in the city. The rooms were quite basic nothing wrong with them but not in line with the prices at all! On the plus side breakfast was GREAT and so was the staff!! we ended up only sleeping there but for the most part we went to other beaches and other restaurants. If you really want the right experience I recommend looking closer to Las Ballenas super fun area!

The worst hotel to stay at for the price. The rooms are dated and old. We paid extra to have a king size bed with balcony and sea view. Coffee machine didn’t work. Breakfast was horrible no milk/cream for coffee. We booked for 3 nights and left after 1 night. The people are nice especially Christian. We moved to the Saman!! No!!!

Perfect little Las Terrenas getaway. El Mosquito is the toast of the town. Right on the water, plenty of covered and outdoor lounge seating. Great service with delicious food and excellent drinks. The view is out of this world, the sand is so soft, the water is crystal clear and they have a spot to rent surf boards or paddle boards attached to the hotel. Even if you aren't able to book a room - be sure and come by for the food/drinks and views! 10/10 would recommend.

Delicious food, decent service and lovely ambience at the restaurant. The receptionists are unfriendly and not professional. This is a hotel, yes? Check in was smooth, as the reception is the first that receives you. For the price you pay mm- yeah no.

Never before we have experienced such poor service, in fact there is no service at all. Even though there are more waiters than in most other restaurants none of them seems to be working. Most of the time you see them standing around in little groups chit chatting, completely ignoring their guests. Even when I made the effort to walk up to a waiter directly asking if it was possible to order he replied back he would come in 5 minutes, giving me the impression he was annoyed by my approach. And guess what, 5 minutes later, even 30 minutes later no one showed up. They just don't give a sh.. about their customers. We are deeply disappointed as the location is absolutely stunning and we would have loved to come here again but not under these circumstances. Very sad... BTW, we can't say anything about the hotel as we only went to the bar/restaurant, but never booked a room.

Hotel looks really nice! Didn't stay there but their outside lounge area by the beach is very cute! The beach itself is very nice as well. Worth checking out. A lot of surfers come here as well for lessons.

The location is amazing, my Shrimp Pasta was loaded with shrimp but quite bland tasting. The service was appalling! Waited extreme times for EVERYTHING, from our 1st drink order to getting change from the bill. It was a busy day, but surely management would have anticipated this and added extra staff. It was brutal!!

Loved this place. We spent three days lounging on the beach. We told our waiter Kenluis we wanted shade and he found us a lounge and brought out bean bags just for us. The bartender Jorge acomadated our allergy and showed us his trick on our favorite drink. Sunsets on this beach are breathtaking.

Such a nice place. Perfect beach and the restaurant is really good. Rooms are not really dark, even with the closed shades. We were there with our 1yr old son and he loved it too.

Only stopped in for lunch and a beach stroll, but will be back. Mofongo was excellent, as was the chicken and rice. Server spoke slow, clear Spanish that I could understand (made me smile).

We didn't stay here, but walked by as we strolled the beach. Mosquito was packed in stark contrast with the rest of Playa Bonita. Maybe that's ok, but not for me!

The restaurant/bar is amazing. We enjoyed it. Margaritas are delicious and coquitos as well. We had empanadas and wow so good. Pepe was our bartender and he went above and beyond with his service. He’s great.

Waited 2 hours before we finally ate. Our server came to see us 25 mins after we sat down and then left on break so another server came to take our order for the food. It took 2 hours before we got it. It was good, but we waited so long for everything (even the bill)…

I absolutely love the location and the vibe. But I have never experienced a place with a worse service. We waited one hour for a waitress who never came after waving our arms out. When we walked up to two of the waitress both said they are not responsible for our table. We never got served that day and went to a Pizza place after we gave up. Next day we gave it a second chance. And again never got served again.

Surf Vibes! Our family enjoyed dining and hanging out here. We didn’t stay at the resort but used it for its free parking to access the surfing and beach areas. We usually ate at least one meal a day at their outdoor restaurant. We also would order drinks, snacks and enjoy the outdoor seating. Incredible atmosphere and an amazing relaxed vibe. The kids loved the $2 artisan popsicles. Great sand surf break and overall beautiful beach. Hence the name Playa Bonita. One of our favorite beaches and restaurants in the area.

Great drinks and very entertaining spot on the beach. Lots of fun. Went here several times for drinks. Last night went for dinner and just super slow. There almost 3 hours. Food was good but not outstanding

This review is mostly for the actual hotel and staff: The hotel and staff are all lovely. Our suite was extremely beautiful and luxurious at such a decent price, air conditioning, towels, toiletries, etc. and the beds are EXTREMELY comfortable. Perfect place for beach bums to come hang out as the beach is accessible the second you open the door from your suite. The beanbags and lawn chairs/lawn beds are very comfortable to lounge on when you’re in the sun or just hanging out with a drink. Staff is super friendly, accommodating, helpful, and they also do laundry onsite and clean your room in between. I will say the restaurant food is a 6-7/10 at best but is quite overpriced in my opinion. The drinks are good, but the food is fairly expensive considering portion sizes and flavour profile if I am to be brutally honest. Complimentary breakfast with stay is always a plus, but don’t expect anything super out of the ordinary. Service is also quite slow here — staff are friendly though. Restaurant/bar service aside, if you are looking for a place to relax, have great amenities within your suite, and all at a very reasonable price, Mosquito is the place to be. We loved our stay here.

This review is only for restaurant. We dined there last week twice and had no issues. We went back for lunch on Wednesday afternoon and our drinks container tainted alcohol ( methanol in it ). Stay away from drinks not bottled ( beer, wine ). We were sick for remainder of vacation as a result and have not recuperated. One of the people in our party diagnosed it as alcohol poisoning and told me if we had drank more we could have died. Went back for food on Sunday, told waiter this, no one from management even came by to apologize.

I stayed at this hotel for 3 days. The experience was incredible! The staff in particular were outstanding. Very kind, warm, proactive. Cristian Jesus Padilla in particular made the stay special and one to remember. It was easy to eat every meal at the bar restaurant on site or within a short walk away. The food was good and service was great.

The food was horrible today. Let’s start with the coffee that I receive with bad milk. And thy told me they don’t have another milk And after we receive the food cold and in the moment I’ve smelled I know it’s was bad. My friends eat and they now in the toilet crying for not listening to me 😫 even the little dog outside didn’t want to eat from the food. Way too expensive for a bad meal.

This was my first time at this restaurant, recommended by my wife’s friend and I have to say it didn’t disappoint. Environment on point but what did it for me was the service. The view is unforgettable.

I could have put 5 stars because the food was great and the view amazing, but damn the service was terrible. We had to wait more than an hour to be served a club sandwich… on top of it, people arriving much later than us and ordering the same thing got served 20 minutes before us Too bad because it deserves better

7/2/22: Augusto the bar tender was excellent, we thought he owned the place, he was everything a server should be, friendly, carefree, happy, great service. I strongly recommend this place, we are definitely coming back and enjoying all the services, the beach and beautiful island.

About beach bar: for some reason we were not attended at all. First time we came we waited for 30min And No one came And then in the afternoon same. I ordered calamares And got shrimps And we waited another 30min to get a receipt. Pizza was bad. The place looks nice but it would be way better experience if it wasn’t for stuff.

Amazing hotel ! We stayed 4 nights and we couldn’t be more happy to have come here. The restaurant is super nice with a good breakfast super dinner and cocktails. Our room was just in front of the sea so we were sleeping with some waves sounds. But the best part was the staff from reception to the restaurant and to the bar every person we met were welcoming, authentic and friendly. Special mention to Joan who took so good care of us ! Thanks

This review is only for the restaurant and bar, visited back in Feb. 2020. Good cocktails, obviously and atmosphere is good as well as sitting and view. However, the service is perfectible: waiters are snacking in front of us while not paying attention although we were waving at them. When they reached to us, they were not friendly nor welcoming. Regarding the food, it was okay and I don't think the value is great for money. I would only recommend this place for drinks.
