Considering the circumstances of how busy this location is/was; I was grateful to be in and out in 3 hours, for a swollen leg (cellulitis), due to a skateboarding injury I received 9 days before I walked into the emergency room. There was a line to get registered, but a nurse bright her triage equipment into the waiting lobby, to get everyone’s vitals, ahead of their visit with a doctor. My leg was x-rayed quickly, with very special, cordial service, as was the ultrasound, which included a dignified push in a wheelchair, by the specialist, herself, so I didn’t have to walk the maze of the hospital, with my hurting leg. I was discharged with a few medications, including antibiotics and a topical cream, to reduce infection, and given instructions to return in a couple days, particularly, if my condition worsened, or did not improve. I had CVS, nearby, fill my prescription. I noticed my street name was spelled incorrectly, on my paperwork, and I tried calling, to have the record corrected, but no one answered, and I didn’t want to go back, so I left it alone. Given the quantity of people they serve; it’s understandable why service takes time, but the professionals here work like a well orchestrated team, as efficient, as one could expect, under reasonable circumstances. I prefer service here, over any hospital in any other country I’ve visited. Gratitude is the attitude. If you receive service here; remember to be kind, and express gratitude to the people that serve you; they’re people, too.

HORRIBLE wait time! The staff is yelling out people's personal information. I am hearing ss#'s, birthdates and medical history of other people waiting here. It's ridiculous! HIPPA laws/rules are NOT being practiced at ALL.

The nurse can’t do anything if the patient is in pain. I waited for more than 7 hours and no medication or treatment with the pain of the patient. The nurse told me that they dont do anything with the pain. Poor services at the emergency room.

The absolute WORST experience. MY NURSES were kind and attentive, HOWEVER they put me in a tiny room with DEMENTIA patient that rips out her IV, was given a laxative and was combative when they changed her 4 times daily, the lists goes on. I was VERY empathetic to her plight, but the hospital REFUSED to move me. I’m here for a cardiac concern and was put in a room where my stress level was elevated. The treatment was CRUEL to say the least and the bathroom was FILTHY. My TV stopped working and all I could do was listen to my roommates cries. GOD help hospitals that LOSE COMPASSION. I was

Only emergency center ive had to wait 5 hours in and even then all they did was check my vitals, so I just left. Very unprofessional and rude staff, the doctor I had was at least somewhat helpful but this is ridiculous. By the time they help someone out it’ll be too late .

If I could leave a lower review I would, been here for going on 5 hours. I have seen constant HIPPA violations, medical practices that should shut this place down such as giving morphine and other narcotics without a medical history. I’m watching the medical staff give peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to a homeless man because he keeps asking for food just to get him out of their faces even though he may need surgery according to a nurse who stated this to him( another HIPPA violation). Horrible

It's disappointing to say the least that this may be the worst hospital in Southern Nevada. I went to the ER for severe covid symptoms and the Dr didn't believe me when I said I had only been experiencing symptoms for 2 day. He told the nurse that I said I've been sick for 3 weeks. He gave me a Tylenol and told me to leave. I almost crashed driving back home and almost died from the symptoms I was having. They don't care about your health as long as you have money.

Went to emergency room as I have had existing woman health issues for a few years. Decided to be seen right away as I was blacking out and was in pain. The staff were really courteous, respectful, and sympathetic. Unfortunately though what they had diagnosed was just one issue. I had a ultrasound done to where they said they found nothing. Two weeks later at my OBGYN they found three medium to large cysts on my left ovary. These cysts have been there for a good amount of time. How was that not shown with the hospital’s ultrasound?? It really makes me nervous to have my hysterectomy done next month there when it was obvious that they missed this. There diagnosis as well was a UTI. Ummm yeah there’s going to be blood in my urine. That’s the reason why I was there because of how bad the bleeding was hint why I was blacking out. This is probably the reason why I’ve had these woman issues for so long as I don’t have trust in our medical professionals. I highly respect our medical professionals but why do we as patients don’t get the same regard and care with some physicians??

Been waiting for 11 hours, still no results. Can’t use the bathroom. Sitting here in pain docs and nurses walk right past you like you don’t exist unless it’s your turn to talk. I just am not amused and can’t wait to get out of here. Won’t be coming back again. I’ll gladly drive a ways to avoid coming here again!!

I went to the ER on 04/11/2023 and the Night Shift nurse at the middle lobby desk was very rude and made me feel like a burden just being there. I have never been treated so poorly by a nurse and was already in pain, so I really didn’t need any condescending comments or being ignored when I asked questions. I was experiencing severe food poisoning and had diarrhea running down my pants while they let me sit in it in the waiting room for an hour. I get the hospital was busy, but they didn’t seem very concerned about their patients and courtesy seemed lost on them.

Sub standard hospital.......period. To be Las Vegas' only trauma center is at the same time sad and scarey. Pray to God every night you or your loved ones don't need serious emergency medical care while in Southern Nevada.

The worst ER in all of America. These doctors are made to order for a 3rd world country and the only reason they are working at UMC is that UMC is in Nevada. If Nevada was a country it would be at the bottom of the list for 3rd world countries.

UMC's staff was awesome to me. Got stabbed, they got me in and out in like 3 hours. First time I can recall as an adult thar I felt treated woth respect in a hospital. Trauma center staff was busy yet patient and walked me through every step before i could ask question, it was answered. Thank you James L Preddy, DO!

My dad had to go to the ER last night a nurse by the name of Shannon was so very kind to him. The ER might’ve took a long time on a Saturday night which is expected but they care about their patients. It’s so busy my dad couldn’t get a room for almost 12 hours but the staff charged his phone and made him feel comfortable which was very nice but Shannon in the ER stood out thank you!!

My oxygen levels tanked while I was in Vegas for the weekend. They were really good to me at UMC. You could tell they were overworked and under funded, but they did their best with what they had. Got me oxygen tanks on a Sunday and got me stable and out all in all fairly quickly. Shout out to my main nurse Ruben. He was a sweetheart.

The staff was great. They worked very hard, with good humor, and seemed to be equally caring to people of all races. But it was very crowded; all the toilets were broken because someone stuffed a towel down them; and the facility seemed old and grudgy and dirty. They were examining me right in the hallway. It was like a third world clinic, although the regular hospital looked nice. Very heavy police presence...and the staff said they wished for more police. It's a trauma center, they said. I came home traumatized all right.

Understaffed! Go next door to Valley Hospital! Expect to wait 5-8 hours around legitimately angry people. They'll occasionally they'll you up but only for insurance questions. Even in the hospital tower, which is always at capacity, you won't get a doctor unless someone complains for you.

I am just astounded about how little people actually know about how to do their jobs at this facility. Trying to get medical records and the referral that was already made was a ridiculous process with the person in medical records contstantly trying to talk over me while I was trying to get information. It’s like pulling teeth. I had to ask the exact right questions to get any explanation on what was actually going on and squeeze the answers out of them.

Worst ER I’ve been too. Got sent here by an oral surgeon because of a ginormous abscess making my whole left side of the face swell. Well 7 hours later and after only a ct scan and blood work, I’m still waiting in the lobby with an IV attachment sticking out of my arm. Watched everyone else come and go. Other patients, nurses, security guards. And it’s not even the especially crowded.

I went in for torn bicep they didn't want to help me because they wanted to give me a spinal tap. For bleeding I maybe had that wasn't there or visible two weeks prior. I declined and was kicked out and still unable to use arm. Another time I went in for BP due to transplant was held for 18hrs on verge of heartache. Was given very minimal BP meds and kicked out even though I had orders for admission from Dr.

I was in the waiting room and the guy At the front desk was really rude to this elderly black lady he told her to shut her mouth and was very inappropriate as a RN the security guard was really nice to her and gave her a burger 🍔 That Korean nurse guy needs to go take a lesson in compassionate but the security team I give 5 ⭐

Absolute disgrace of a hospital. Dirty, awful service. Held without being discharged over 8 hours and they barely check up on you.

What a joke your doctors and nurses are incapable of listening to their patients and then get rude and loud when the patient shows frustration. They are in such a rush to get people out that they don't give proper treatment. They do not care about there patients!

My experience was excellent 7/1/2023...the staff are nice and very sympathetic. My nurse Britney offered sincere comfort and my Doctor Elizabeth Chen offered practical solution to my dilemna. My husband had the same encounter with them we are sympthetically dealt with and was offered with practical solution, directly to the issue.

I went to the ER at 6pm just to only be taken to the back and have my vitals ran and sent back up to the front waiting room and it’s 10:09pm, very unpleased with this ER’s services. They don’t seem to care about any of their patients

Wow, I didn't know this hospital had more bad reviews than good ones. That makes it very skeptical about me or anyone in my family ever coming here. The reason for my 2 stars is because I don't understand why people who need to be on the phones, don't know what having phone etiquette is? Today, I had someone call my phone just asking for my husband. No name, where they're calling from. So then I asked where are you calling from. My husband works from home and luckily he was able to talk to the lady. She only said UMC. I knew it was Medical Records (I emailed the PHI form for medical records), but she couldn't say Medical Records Dept from UMC. Are they that lazy??? I remember when I was studying to be a Medical Assistant, one of the things that stayed with me was the importance of phone etiquette. It's common sense. I read so many reviews of so many places of people employed to handle phone calls, but it's horrendous. How did they get the job? You're in a bad mood, put that to the side. Or find another job OR career. I heard my husband say he couldn't go and asked if I can pick up the disc with a report. I'm sure the lady said no. My name is on file since the first time my baby went there to get his MRI done. I've been the one to schedule his appointments and to pre-register him. The CEO has to realize what people have to say about UMC. If you all get into Healthcare... then provide services as if it was your family member or LO. Don't be rude. Follow the Golden Rule.

Tracy (Registered Nurse) was so helpful and is very professional. She needs to be a director of Nurses because she does her job very well. She is absolutely and is a total blast of positivity. I felt beyond comfortable on my visit here for the first time. Whoever goes here ask for Tracy:) She will for sure take care of your medical needs!!!we need more folks like her:)

I won’t give it one star due to the nurse being such an angel but the receptionists are another story. My family member was admitted 02/02 and the receptionist was anything but kind and helpful as we wanted to know what was going on. Sadly could not get her name but was an older lady who worked from around 2pm-7pm wearing a tweety bird shirt February 2, 2021 in the adult ER. Her responses were rude and snappy. She did not want to help and said she would call me if my family member showed up in the system but then never did and pretended she did not say she would call me. Many patients walked up to help and she would get irritated and cut them off when they spoke.

I was in there for a stab wound. Almost everyone was very nice. Regardless of were you go there are always a few bad attitudes. I received good medical treatment. Other then that ALL doctors are scared of the DEA and won't send anyone home with painkillers anymore it wasn't tobad.

If you can go to literally any other quick care or hospital, I advise you do. my boyfriend got into a car accident and was sent over to this location for a CT scan because of a knot on his face that was rapidly growing after hitting his face off his steering wheel. He was seen right away but we sat waiting for some sort of results for over SIX HOURS!!! He asked doctors and nurses multiple times for something to help his pain and was blatantly ignored. There's not a single person that will give you any sort of information or update if you're in the waiting room either, you're just expected to wait hours on end with absolutely no kind of update of how your loved one is. Literally the WORST and most worthless hospital either of us has ever been to. I'd rather die than ever come back here
