As a retired nurse myself maybe i expected more quailty of care than what my mother received recently at Scotland Memorial hospital. Thankfully i was there to catch the errors in her care before it had life threatening effects on her. My mom was admitted for pneumonia on a Sat. On Tuesday she was almost unresponsive and very lethargic. Her heart rate was in the 150's, her potassium was low as well. Come to find out they had not been giving my Mom her heart meds nor her potassium since admission. The CEO. ,Nursing Patient care supervisor for this floor, the Nursing Quality Care and down to the floor nurses were all made aware of this error Please make sure you verify ALL medications your family member is suppose to be on ,dont assume it will automactically be given. Totally unnacceptable for this to have occurred when the hospital had an updated list of medications she was supposed to receive. They were other issues but this mefication ettir was the most serious!!

This hospital just keeps getting worse. I went to the ER for terrible pain in my back. The PA came in, asked what was wrong, sent off for shots and said she was giving me a prescription and sending me home. Was told she wasn't gonna do test or give me what she wanted to give me because I didn't have a driver, for starters, then told me that if she did "proper treatment," I would be there for about 8 hours. I really think proper treatment should always be your first option. The whole time I was there, it felt like they were trying to rush me out. I got up from the bed I was placed on to move around because of the pain. I walked outside to get some air because I was feeling sick. The nurse came outside and told me to sign a paper so I could just go ahead and leave. This is the worst experience I've had at this hospital and will probably be my last. Management really needs to evaluate it's health providers and maybe consider getting people who really want and care about their job.

Bottom tier care, horrific bedside manner all around. Karan in the front has an attitude problem, which seems to stem from her lack of capacity to do her job properly. Such a disorganized and disrespectful environment; disappointing seeing as people are supposed to seek care and comfort here.

I tried to give 1 and a half but you can give a 1 or 2. That's because I came Monday and I at least found out what was wrong, they said I have a pinched nerve shooting pain down my arm but there's nothing they can do for me. So now a week later I'm in the same situation. Now I'm here with my wife because she has no blood flow on her arm and her fingers have turned blue. Still waiting.......still waiting......

I took a chance and drive to Scotland instead of first health with my 4 year old after waiting 3 hours at first health being ignored and then given the excuse the computer was down and the doctor didn’t know we were there!! Scotland was amazing, the staff was friendly and very helpful. The doctor was compassionate and caring. They did multiple X-rays and took great care of my little guy! I will NEVER USE FIRST HEALTH AGAIN! The wait wasn’t too bad they were very busy but still took great care of us.

I went there for a sprained ankle. They took my vitals, checked me and took an x-ray and checked me out no doctor and asked if I wanted crutches or anything. I mean I'm there for help I got none.

Never been to such a dirty, unhygienic hospital in my life, and I’ve been to a few. They seem like they need to re train their staff to properly clean and disinfect. One of the most basic task. I don’t fault the staff but their leadership for failing them. Wait times are to be expected as normal. I think I was there for about 2 hours waiting, got called to take vitals and questions, wait some more, finally called to a room. Wait, saw a nurse and answered questions, wait, saw another nurse, answered the same question, wait, another nurse asking about stuff that they should of taken down at the start of the visit. Saw a doctor, ask the same question the nurse asked… I’m like is there not a chart for me not being made… and their was a good bit of trash in my room. If that’s the stuff I can see, I wonder how much of the stuff I can’t see is there… Upon discharge, the nurse then came back asking if I was ready to go. NO ONE CAME BACK TO TELL ME WHAT THE ISSUE I HAD WAS or WHAT THE TREATMENT PLAN WAS! The nurse then ask “did the doctor came back to explain the situation, I said no and she then told me the rundown. So much for communication in this hospital. Get it together y’all.

I stayed in hospital for 22 days and it was a great experience for the most part. Special thanks to the following nurses: Brooke, Summer, Jeannette, Hailey, Coretta and Wendy. Dr. Shalloum thanks for always checking in on me and giving my mom and I updates. You are a gentle soul. Thanks for all you do.

Went up here on a the other day with vomiting headache and chest pain. Everyone was really nice and proactive. The problem is after doing multiple test they sent me home with a I don't know whats wrong with you. Doctor told me to call back in a couple of days if my problems continued. I called and was told I could come back in and be seen again and they could do the same test but they would charge me for it again. So what is the point in going to a place that has no idea how to fix you and charges you everything you have to do nothing. This place is as pointless as can be.

I have not been here, but they keep calling my number asking me if I'm Cassandra Davis or if I know one. To Pat: I don't know a Cassandra Davis or a Robert Davis, please stop calling me!

The goal here isn’t about patient health and providing the best care possible it’s about everyone getting their pay check and going home.
