A small museum dedicated to the history of telling of time. As I don't speak German I was given an iPad which was very easy to use explaining in English each exhibit. It covered ancient Egyptian methods to latest digital. Worth a visit.

I definitely recommend a visit. It will take a couple of hours for a leisurely visit. Tablets with a guide- description and video are available. Interesting specimens, both fine clockwork masterpieces and old unique originals and copies, such as the Giovanni planetarium and others.

A cool museum tucked away in the basement of a the Beyer Watch store. It is very high end. The collection was very nice and spanned the history of time keeping and they gave me an iPad with English descriptions of the time pieces.

If you are curious about how the devices of measuring time evolve in the history, this is a good place to spend about 45 to 60 minutes. Use Zurich card to enter for free. Get the tablet to see some videos of the movement and animation of some clocks because some are not live clock, watches. I recommend to go near each exact hour to hear some extra sounds. There is only one floor. Short but worth it.

Beyer Watch and Clock Museum is located on Zurich Bahnhof Strasse. It is very small but there are some interesting pieces like Sir Edmond Hillary 's Rolex Explorer, a vintage Rolex Daytona and some very old clocks. There is a very small entrence fee. I would advice a visit to the museum, about 30 to 60 minutes followed by a coffee session at the adjacent Sprungli.

Beautiful clocks and history. A little weird that it's in the basement and is only open 4 hours but definitely enjoyed myself. A small museum but if you like and appreciate clock's it's a must see

Definitely worth checking out. Tucked in under a watch store, this museum captures the essence of timekeeping across the ages. From the very first “water clocks”, passing through elaborate beautifully designed watches, all the way to modern watches, the collection is very rich. Some of the pieces are a marvel to look at, with elaborate moving pieces (eg a dragon that moves its wings every hour). My only comment is that the provided iPad, while helpful to read non-German translations, makes the tour take longer as you have to find the right description for every piece. Adding a printed English description would be really helpful.

Extensive private collection of clocks, watchs and other devices for the measurement of time. As expected some superb examples of watch making. Not a comprehensive story of time, but an individuals personal collection, which is a privilege to be able to view. Looking forward to the public showing of the automatons that are in their collection. Don't bring the kids, or a partner who doesn't have at least a passing interest! Accept the offer of an iPad with multi lingual offering of descriptions of the collection.

Small museum on the basement of a Beyer flagship store (it's basically one large room). This is a gem for anyone interested in the evolution of clocks and their mechanism. The staff is kind and helpful and can provide you with a tablet based interactive guide.

If I could give a rating of 50, I would. The unique exhibition of beautiful clocks from different epochs, technical solutions and belonging to many famous people. Must visit. Please note, that it opens only from two o'clock in the afternoon. There are discounts on tickets for pensioners. Guide accompaniment.

Museum is on ground floor of the watch shop. There are lockers and hangers for coats. The watches are all within the one room and does not take long to go around. There is an iPad that one can walk round with to translate the German information on the displays There are some nice souvenirs for purchase at the counter

This is a small treasure in the most commercial street of Zurich. A watch museum that although small, it exhibits some of the greatest time measurement achievements over history. Starting from prehistoric time measurement to more recent time. There’s no Apple Watch of course! The Beyer family collection makes every watch enthusiasts envious.

It's a pretty small museum but informative. All the labels are in German but they do provide an iPad for visitors to look up items in English. But that got old pretty quickly. IMO, they should have just bilingual labels on everything.

Very interesting collection of time measuring devices from many centuries and cultures. The pieces are displayed well for close viewing. The iPad guide includes a great deal of information about most pieces and also displays videos of rare clocks and timepieces that alarm with some form of animation. As a side note, it's a cool place to spend an hour during a hot summer afternoon.

(Translated by Google) A small, cozy museum with a private collection of watches. Admission for children under 12 years old is free, for adults the price is 10 francs. In my opinion, the exhibits are very interesting. The oldest watch model dates from the 1400s. BC.!!! (the original is kept in another museum). The watch is solar, water, oil, in the form of a candle ... tiny, smaller than a nail, large in size by meter per meter, completely wooden, in the form of a picture, large walkers, small in a box, inlaid with precious stones, etc. It seems that the room is small, but a lot of interesting models are collected here. We were with children 8 and 5 years old. At the entrance, we were asked to leave outerwear and a backpack in the wardrobe. Then we were given a tablet in which we could see all the exhibits by topic (hours of "elements", "curious" watches, and watches by epoch). In addition, you can specify in the search the inventory number of hours written on the card next to them and read detailed information about them. In addition to English, German, French and a couple of languages, there was also Russian. True, not all exhibits had explanations in Russian, in some places it was in English ... But still, I was pleasantly surprised by the presence of a Russian translation. The youngest daughter was not very interesting at first, but we entrusted her with an important mission - to carry a tablet. Therefore, she was also interested in her own way and she felt very important. In the end, she even turned to the museum inspector with clarifying questions about one of the exhibits. In general, we all liked it. In addition, at the exit we were all treated to branded packages with marmalade bears inside, and the children took an apple - after that they were especially pleased with the visit 😆 (Original)
