👍👍 We had a tornado warning in our area and most homes locally do not have basements. Approximately 30 neighbors came to the hotel for shelter. Katy and her sister, who both work at the hotel, were fantastic, even offering free refreshments. The entire staff were great. The place looks really nice. The staff were all friendly and professional, breakfast selections were excellent, gym and pool were clean, and the room was mostly clean. My complaints concerning cleanliness are that the corners of our bathroom contained hair and debris, there was a fair amount of dust and debris on surfaces throughout our room, the air conditioner had a mold-covered piece of something in it (food, I’m assuming) which means that moldy air was being blown into the room (I didn’t notice this until we were leaving), and the interior of fridge was pretty gross. See pics. This hotel isn’t as clean as others we’ve stayed at during our cross-country road trip, but it was clean enough.

Everything was good including friendly staff and decent breakfast. However, the female manager Jane at front desk was VERY RUDE to customers and pet. It was a terrible experience. We kept getting phone calls and room services knockings in the last hour before checking out. Even though we had set up a late checkout (12:00pm) and a quiet hour (11:00am-12:00pm for a virtual meeting) with the front desk when we checked in, we started to get several calls and knockings at 11:30 am. The lady warned us that we should have checked out at 11:00 am and there was no record for the quiet time. NOTE: WE REPEATEDLY TOLD HER THAT WE WERE IN A CRITICAL MEETING IN ALL HER CALLS TO US. When we checked out at 12:00 pm, she did not say sorry to us. She kept blame us on the late and denying the truth about we have received the confirmation of one hour extension when we checked in and we have told her that we need late check since we are in the middle of an important meeting. OTHER THAN RACIST OR DISCRIMINATION, I HAVE NO IDEA WHY SHE ACTS LIKE THIS. In addition, she also blame us that we should have confirmed with the front desk that I had a pet. However, when I checked in, I hold my puppy in my arm, met face-to-face with the front desk and said I had a pet for checkin. I do not know how I can help the hotel triple confirm everything they need. This should have been their job. The management is disorganized here. I would give zero star if I could.

Not very good room service. We spent 4 nights and 5 days there and our room never was cleaned. We asked for the service and they said that they do that every 3 days , they were supposed to cleaning on Sunday and never went. Hotel was dirty in general. Over charging in bar they don’t have a menu with prices , first they charged us one price and next was high price for the same cóctel 🍸 . Breakfast area was very dirty 😣. Not good experience there. Not coming back there.

Overall good experience, but I opened the coffee machine in my room and found a swollen wet bag of coffee in it, left by the last customer, not cleaned… really gross!! Room service should pay attention to that.

Loved it from the moment we arrived. The lobby was inviting with lots of seating options for conversations with friends and family or just relaxing. Our spacious room was everything a traveler could want. The workout room had a variety of equipment with something for everyone. The hotel location was close to the interstate and within an easy drive to a wide variety of restaurants. The best hotel I've stayed in a long time.

Since ownership has changed, it is not at all the same hotel. I am leaving this review purely for the benefit of other travelers. The place needs a good cleaning and so do the rooms. The looby floors are sticky both times we have stayed there. The elevators are dirty and our room smelled like dog poop. When I informed the front desk ( Atheena) we were treated with rudeness and basically told to deal with it. I think the hotel is challenged with hiring quality staff and that is unfortunate as it used to be a really great hotel.

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Stayed here for one night with the dogs while driving by. The hotel is clean and updated. The lobby has nice furniture and lots of natural light. They also have a pool, fitness area and complimentary breakfast. Their breakfast spread was great, with lots of savory and sweet options. The rooms were clean, updated and big. The location is very peaceful with lots of grassy fields around. Overall, a great experience.

I spent two nights here and would return in a heartbeat. The place was nice and clean, the room cozy, and the staff friendly. Considering how easy it is to drive across Lawrence, the location is excellent. I had a wonderful stay.

It was fine. Nothing special. Bathroom door was weird...sliding door of the 'barn door' style with about an open 1/2" on either side, which was not very private. Free breakfast was typical. Nice building and well kept grounds in an easy to get to location.

Stayed for two nights during student move in and thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The hotel was clean, the lobby bar was a welcome surprise and breakfast was good and well stocked. Lydia greeted us upon arrival and even though the hotel was busy she was friendly and professional, she was behind the bar the second evening was again very attentive, friendly and efficient. All other staff we engaged with were also friendly and professional, no complaints. Will definitely be staying again.

My daughters and I stayed here one night on our travels. The rooms were clean, and the staff friendly. This is a nice location and we door dashed some dinner as our arrival was late in the evening. The food arrived quickly. The Continental breakfast was plentiful... Many, many options. I definitely recommend this hotel. The five star rating is well deserved.

This is by far the best hotel we have stayed at in Lawrence. Every other one seems run down and old. The staff here are amazing and friendly. To top it off they have a outdoor fireplace and they are dog friendly! They also give you free s’mores to roast on the fire!

The quality of service had diminished since the hotel is no longer BW Plus. We have stayed here previously, and the service was fantastic. There was no one at the front desk or the breakfast bar this morning. There was no coffee. The water container still had yesterday's water, lemons, and limes. The omlets from Sysco were burnt, the potatoes were soggy and cold, as was the sausage, and there was some mysterious rectangular food with the sausage that was not identifiable. The room was clean and the beds were not bad.

The young gentleman at the front desk was friendly and professional. The room itself was spacious and clean as far as hotels go. Only stayed for one night, but it was a nice, quiet stay. Beds were a little firmer than I personally like, but they were fine for one night. Overall, I had a good experience at Stone Hill!

Again During my recent visit to the breakfast area, I encountered a distressing situation involving a specific staff member. As I approached, I noticed her hurriedly rushing to the kitchen, quickly retrieving a bowl, and removing a significant number of oranges from the display. Perplexed by her actions, I approached her to inquire about the reason behind it. Unfortunately, her response was both rude and disrespectful. Not only did she display an aggressive attitude, but she also raised her voice while asserting that she needed to reserve the oranges for other guests. In an attempt to emphasize her point, she loudly counted the oranges she claimed to have left for me, stating "1, 2, 3, 4, 5." This encounter left me deeply unsettled and disappointed by the lack of professionalism demonstrated by this staff member. Given the gravity of this incident, I kindly request that you conduct a thorough investigation into the matter. It is of utmost importance that you review the security camera footage from the breakfast area to obtain an accurate account of the interaction between myself and the staff member involved. This will provide undeniable evidence of her disrespectful behavior and help ensure a fair and just resolution. As a valued guest of Stone Hill, I have always held the highest regard for the quality of service provided by your establishment. However, this incident has significantly marred my perception of the hotel and the level of respect shown to guests. I trust that you will treat this complaint with the seriousness it deserves and promptly address the issue. Please provide me with an update on the outcome of the investigation, including any necessary actions taken to rectify the situation.

We had a large group with multiple rooms and felt very well taken care of. Our rooms were clean, the kids loved the pool and the breakfast did the trick. All staff were friendly - even with the kids asking for stuff! We will be back

Clean, nice rooms. Continental breakfast is good. One EV charger in the parking lot is really convenient and it's free but I wouldn't mind paying if they would install a few more because they're increasingly busy. Overall a nice place to stay.
