Large museum took us several hours to walk through. This was my second time and it was just as nice as the first. I would recommend starting on the bottom floor and making your way up. All was very interesting although if you do not have children the area above the main entrance is very skippable. My favorite is the top floor. I believe admission was $4 for children and $7 for adults which is a “donation” so I’m not sure if it’s required or not to be honest. Overall a great way to spend a day.

I grew up in Kansas City and had NO idea this place was here! My 7 year old loved it! It was the perfect day trip. We are already planning our next visit!

So I make it a point to visit every single museum that has fossils - no matter what I'm in town for, I have to make time for it. This one was small but it has a lot packed into every exhibit - there's a lot to read and learn about - i loved it

Seems like we've been going here since the beginning of time...not much has changed but the kids of all ages still love it! There was a museum staff member (I unfortunately did not catch her name) and she was very helpful and informative. A great experience!

I absolutely love this museum. It has a certain charm that I like in small museums. It’s especially fun for kids and they have some scavenger hunt activities. If you go please consider a donation.

Loved the museum overall. Great fossils display. Spent about 1-1/2 hours going through the 4 levels. We came about 10 hours away to see Comanche and was very disappointed that the only info given on the horse was how it was mounted. No story about how or why the horse was mounted and on display. We know the story but still deserved so much more.

Free, but accept donations as entry fee. My kids loved it, and my wife and I had a great time as well. The different floors have different themes, and there's so much fascinating stuff.

Beautiful, interesting, and well curated. You'll learn a lot about the prairies as well as fossils found in the area. There's also a lot of information about Darwin, Origin of Species, the Galapagos, and Central America. The bug zone offered shivers. Suggested donation for entry and pay to park in nearby structure.

Great hidden gem on campus. There are a lot of things packed into this museum and it's pretty affordable.

Great museum. Lots to see. You can get through everything in about 2 hours. Don't forget to stop in the gift shop before you leave.

A very full natural history museum with many different collections, some live things as well, including bees and lots of reptiles! We enjoyed all of the dioramas of the biomes- they are so well done. As a homeschooling mom, I LOVED that they had many different worksheets kids could work on while exploring. Awesome. Awesome. If you go, make a stop at the art museum and the student center. The campus is very nice to walk around!

The family and I really enjoyed this museum. The small mammals displays and interactive displays were a hit for the ten year old.

We had a great visit. 4 floors with great diversity of things to see from living bugs to fossils. Although the museum is not huge, it is packed.

I went to this museum for the first time with my child on a field trip. There were no fees. But they have a recommendation for donations of 14 adults and 7 for kids. There were fossils, furs, and taxidermy. It was fun because the kids played bingo, and had a scavenger hunt with the different clues and pictures on the paper. We were able to have a science class with experiments of matter, mass, and destiny. It was very fun and i'll have to go back. When fewer children are running around to enjoy some items that I missed.

A nice natural history museum that makes for an interesting day/field trip from Kansas City. You can find public pay parking near the museum. There are several levels of exhibit space and not to forget on the bottom level all the dinosaur bones!

I recently visited the KU Natural History Museum--Dyche Hall and was thoroughly impressed with the specimen collection on display. The collection is vast and varied, with everything from fossils and minerals to taxidermy and shells. I was particularly impressed by the quality of the specimens and the level of detail in the displays. I also appreciated the interactive exhibits, which made learning about the different specimens fun and engaging. The staff was also very friendly and knowledgeable, and willing to answer any questions I had. I highly recommend KU Natural History Museum--Dyche Hall to anyone interested in natural history and geology. It's definitely a must-see for anyone visiting Lawrence, Kansas.

This museum is AWESOME - all mine heartbeats spoke of, the rest of the weekend was going back (we will be) - the American history - the art of taxidermy - take the time & READ - such an appreciation

Seriously great experience. The museum is pay-what-you-can but they suggest a $7 donation for adults and $4 for kids. My favorite exhibit is the triceratops skull.

Unique and artistic collection with lots of useful information. Staff is super nice and helpful and exhibits are interesting for both children and adults. The live bees on the top floor are super neat! A bit more 'stuffed' animals than I was expecting, but awesome nonetheless.

Was a great place to visit. The cost was cheap but well worth the money. Glad I had the chance to go

This museum has SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE! I thoroughly enjoyed the reptile and bug exhibits, as well as the dinosaur exhibit and large array of taxidermy.

This is a nice little museum, the admission is free with a suggested donation of $7 for adults and $4 for children. It's a bit much for what they have on display, but it goes to the university so I'm in favor of supporting my Jayhawks. There's a few interactive displays as well as live reptiles and insects but a large selection of fossils and stuffed animals. We went on a Friday afternoon and was not busy at all, perfect time to take 2 kids.

👍 Small but nice little pond to walk around, over the years the have added more trees, a pavilion and a day time bathroom. This spot does connect to the bike path and you can walk out to the lake. They have a restroom you can use, which makes it nice to stay longer and enjoy fishing, and birdwatchi...
