I would give a 5 star rating for the magnificent building. Unfortunately the quality of the food in the restaurant is over rated and is more of a canteen in style with staff that appear to be very unhappy and not exactly quality service. That would be 2 stars. The place appears to be used for many events. When we stayed we could not even visit the cloisters because of private events! The modernization of the building interior was a huge mistake. It is more like an airport terminal, only saved by some good art on the walls.

Worst Parador!!! It used to be wonderful, but they renovated this historical building in a ultramodern style. Yuck! Why pay more for the historical building just to get a modern Holiday Inn? No charm, and the bathroom had no ventilation or privacy!

A truly five star hotel and deservingly so. The location and scale of the building creates an image of the hotel that the interior and staff match. There are original artworks and historic pieces in all parts of the public areas that catch the eye. The service has been impeccable and the quality of the food and wine has been second to non. It is a grand hotel with a unique history. Walking around the cloisters and in the chapel has been a privilege and we were very fortunate to have had the opportunity to stay here.

This hotel is spectacular. The monetary attached to it is beautiful and the meeting of ultra modern and classical has been pulled off to brilliant effect. Our only negatives were the pretty poor reception we got from staff when we arrived and the fact our room kept getting warmer no matter what we did to the air con. That said we would return to spend time in the incredible building.

A stunning Renaissance building. We sat on the terrace in the river side of this parador and had a drink and excellent tapas as the sun was setting. It was a peaceful, lovely, and restorative setting.

Amazing place to stay in León Spain / España. Once a Catholic convent on the Camino de Santiago, now a historical hotel with updated finishes & contemporary features. Well worth a visit & stay here. Gracias!

Very nice, modern, comfortable. Nice design. Central. One of my better stays in Northern Spain.

Setting is magnificent. Some European hotels use a valve on their sink drains instead of a gooseneck as is common in the US. Unfortunately these valves seem to stick in the "drain" position sometimes, allowing sewer gas to escape into the room. Several of these valves apparently malfunctioned on the third floor including the one in our room. The smell was pungent and overpowering in the early afternoon. The smell went away once guests arrived for the evening and used their bathrooms, but this detracted from an otherwise wonderful experience.

Looks amazing from the outside and indeed the inside too. It is very modern inside - not what I was expecting after staying in an old monestry a few days earlier. A lot of things are form over function. You shouldnt need instruction on how to operate taps and lighting. Being a pilgrim I was disappointed to not have a bath. Maybe they do have rooms with baths, enquire if important. My shower leaked all over the floor and air con was way too loud. Also far too far out of town, especially as I had walked over 20 miles that day! This is my fault I should have done my research. Breakfast was outstanding. As a vegan I haven't eaten particularly well. Loads of wonderful choices. I LOVED THE BREAKFAST. I didn't eat any other meals at the hotel but the reception just told me to mention to dining staff that I was vegan and they would make something off menu.

This is a fantastic hotel. In a historic building, beautifully decorated with a modern touch that doesn't interfere with the historic character. Rooms are spacious and well equipped. Staff is very friendly and pay attention to kids. The free tour in the weekend is worth joining.

Magnificently set in a historical building, comfortable and well appointed. Worth the trip.

Beautiful facade, however, the three year remodel has left the inside too modern for my liking. We had a tasty dinner despite being given old croquettes at the beginning, which they gladly replaced. It is located 15 minutes walk outside of the center. I wouldn't recommend staying here with children if the idea is to walk around the center.

It’s a fantastic hotel, basically a monastery converted. Great service, great rooms and a lot of history.

Recently renovated hotel with good sized bedrooms. Very beautiful facade. A bit of a walk to the city's bar area.

Beautifully restored monastery with spacious, elegant bar and restaurant. For pilgrims: the hotel can arrange a very high-quality, in-room massage with michael Blanco (€80 for 90 minutes). Michael is fantastic!

Simply stunning building - not stayed, just popped in for a pitstop at the Café... friendly service in a relaxed environment.

If you are passing through Leon this hotel should be on your list of places to stay. We have stayed in multiple paradors across Spain and this has been the best so far. Don't miss the chance to experience this beautiful piece of history.

Off the scale sumptuous, indulgent. Contrast with ancient and ultra modern architecutre exceptional. Artwork the same. They also found a prcious earing of mine in super quck time. Plus Leon is a city that properly struts its stuff. So much action.

Loved my stay at the parador. It was my treat for myself during the camino. They allowed me to check in early (I arrived around 930am and was just planning to drop my backpack) because a room was already available. They also told me about the 10am free tour of the monastery for hotel guests. The tour (it was in Spanish) was wonderful, such an honor to see the nooks and crannies of the monastery. Service for lunch and breakfast were exceptional, the food was delicious, and check in and check out were seamless. Wifi was fast, and I loved the fact that they did not use small disposable containers for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Its a bit of a walk to and from the cathedral, but its on the camino trail so easy to start walking the day after.
