Can not fault the staff or the hotel’s beauty. Unfortunately that is where it ends. The breakfast was absolutely terrible. Poor quality produce and overcooked. Not what you expect for £15 per head. Other options available subject to additional charges. All guests were packed in like sardines. The poor elderly lady next to our table was unable to get in or out of her seat without the tables being manoeuvred around the dining area. The bar on the evening was understaffed, not a particularly busy evening, yet a good 5+ minutes to order a drink and at £46 for 4 drinks I would expect a faster service. The room was not particularly clean, dirt and dust in the corners of the bathroom, splash stains on the paint work and tiles. The shower needed a good clean, body fat and dirt around the base and door seal. Rather disappointed, wanted to stay here for many years.

We were in Leeds for a concert to celebrate my wife's birthday and decided to stay overnight and after a spot of googling I picked the Queens and I'm so glad I did as it was absolutely spot on ! All staff that we came into contact with were lovely and helpful. Our room was spotless and had everything you need , bed was extremely comfortable and the pillows divine. Buffet breakfast was just right but other options were available to order. The Queen's has an arrangement with the handy Q Parking multi storey and overnight parking was only £15.00 Will definitely stay here again and I highly recommend that you do too.

Just arrived home from a 2 night stay here. The hotel is bang next door to the train station which is brilliant. When you walk in the hotel not only is it beautiful but you are greeted with the most amazing smell, which I meant asking what it was as it’s there at whatever time of day you go in. We stayed in a family deluxe room, myself my daughter 18 my friend and her daughter age 15. The room was simply amazing, spacious clean and really nice. The beds are so unbelievably comfortable and the black out curtains are also fab. Had the best 2 nights sleep in this hotel. The staff are friendly and very helpful. House keeping are also great, we were still getting ready when the lady came to our room so we told her not to bother so she asked us if we needed anything and topped us up. I cannot fault this hotel, absolutely beautiful. Our room also had a great full length mirror which was fab with us girls all getting ready and in the bathroom there is another big mirror, the shower was all unreal. All round a fantastic hotel and affordable. We can’t wait to return.

Great location, very close to the railway station, the rooms are comfortable and clean, tea and coffee provided. Great cocktail bar, the Grand Pacific restaurant is nice, food was good, nothing exceptional. Very old worlde ambiance in the lobby area and art deco design. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Stayed with my sister on her birthday visit to Leeds. I have often passed this hotel when visiting the city and wanted to try it. it did not disappoint! Everything about our stay was just lovely. the room was comfortable, spotlessly clean, breakfast was great. Without exception, all of the staff were friendly, helpful and polite. We loved out stay and would definitely recommend this hotel.

We didn't stay at the hotel, we just called in for a drink on a Saturday evening. The place was moderately busy but it was still quite easy to get a seat. I just had a very simple G&T, Bombay with regular tonic. I don't care much for passion fruit and angels fart gin. The drink was just what I wanted and was mighty fine Nice place.

Stayed here for a work conference and it exceeded expectations. Beautiful, stylish decor, clean and comfortable room, excellent service and the food was amazing! The breakfast buffet was epic and they catered our lunches and a dinner. Fantastic and varied vegetarian options. And again, the staff was wonderful!

Booked a 2 night break for last Thursday and Friday, we requested an upgrade to our room as it was a birthday celebration, wasn't sure if they would oblige or not but I have to say they came up trumps. We ended up in a suite (separate room with large TV and other extras) all staff are so helpful especially the concierge (forgot his name but he has been working there years and is so helpful and has a great customer manner) 👍 Brilliant location, the beds are comfortable and bedding is fresh and clean. Breakfast was great yet again and the hotel always feels welcoming.

Lovely hotel, lovely breakfast the next morning (included in the price) we stayed in the superior King room, nice view of the city Square. The bed was a great size, and very comfortable. The flush on the toilet was not great (this needs looking at) the shower was powerful and spacious. The TV was my only complaint, you could rent movies for around £7 which we chose not to do. The TV guide on the normal television didn't work, it just said no information, no option to look into the settings to fix it so we didn't know what we was about to watch, not ideal. Overall I would stay at this hotel again and we are impressed, lovely decor throughout.

Absolutely delightful Art Deco building throughout. Rooms are large and nicely presented and exceptionally clean. We only had breakfast at the hotel as their famous restaurant is actually not dog friendly while the hotel is, and the food at breakfast was really high quality. Service is very good too

My husband & Cousin came to Leeds on the train today, for a business presentation. Having arrived early, they needed somewhere to refresh themselves, and shelter from the snow. They stepped into the hotel lobby, not knowing what type of reception they'd get. They were warmly welcomed, and were pointed into the direction of the coffee bar. Coffee was purchased at a very fair price, and due to this, free internet access given. A return visit for lunch was made, and it sounded like, I had missed out on something special. All they could speak about was the fantastic food, venue, and friendly staff. Well done, and keep it up. We'll be back on mass next time...!! (They didn't rate the rooms, as an overnight stay was not required).

Opted for a “cosy room”, the cheapest rate for a weekend stay. We were pleasantly surprised with all aspects of our stay. Friendly reception staff made the check in process seem less and enjoyable. The room was small, but equipped with everything you’d need for a weekend stay. The bathroom in particular was modern and well equipped, far better than any chain hotel. Finally, the location is spot on. Less than a 5 minute walk from the train station and stumbling distance to a multitude of great bars and restaurants, would definitely revisit.

Brilliant Hotel, great location, lovely room and a good night's sleep 💤💤. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely use the Queens Hotel again. There is no car parking at the Hotel but email or call them and they can help & advise with a couple of car parks and offer discount codes to help with Parking. We used Q Park just a few minutes walk to the hotel and it was excellent.

Close to the station, great breakfast, friendly staff, comfy bed. I liked that there was a full length mirror with lights in the room, and the shower was good. I had an issue with the sink as the plug was stuck and wouldn’t come up. Would be better if there was a mirror on the desk and if there was a bath also, but overall a good stay.

Great service as always here. Staff very attentive and polite. Great location in the city center and next to the station Rooms nice, although the room this time was on the small side and a lack of power outlets but it was ok for the price I paid. Had lovely views of the sunrise over Leeds

Actually pleasantly surprised!! The Queens used to be "that run down hotel in the middle of Leeds" but it's now very smart. Not quite on par with some of the ultra modern hotels in Leeds but a very nice reception/,lobby, good quality rooms and great staff. The only slightly weird bit is the breakfast room in the basement which is very brightly lit. The food is great but it's so bright in there. Not very condusive to a relaxing breakfast. You feel like you are on show to everyone. Just dim the lights a bit Queens!! It'll make the experience so much better.

I went to a debutant ball at this hotel, and my initial impression was fantastic. Situated in the city centre and conveniently close to the train station, this hotel is truly a gem. From the bar to the rooms, it made a positive impact on me. While the food was good, there is room for improvement. However, the bar staff were amazing.

Visiting Leeds for a business trip and had the pleasure of staying at the Queens Hotel. Finding the entrance was made a bit more difficult by the current road works, but you can follow the signs. Check in was great and a small problem with the booking was sorted out easily. I found the room very comfortable, though perhaps a bit dark as there were not any overhead lights. The desk was usable and the sockets had USBA and C chargers, so work was productive as well. The bed was comfortable and the room was very quiet - I was looking out onto the square but wasn't disturbed at all and the view was great. Very thick curtains and so wasn't woken up by the light. Breakfast was good - you can ask for vegetarian food to be made as well as the cooked and cold standards, and although the selection wasn't perhaps as broad as some other places I have stayed, it was very tasty food and filter coffee to start the day, as well as a nice selection of juices. I was there for a conference and thought these facilities were excellent - good rooms, excellent bathroom facilities, friendly staff. Shout out to the check out staff - I was in a rush to leave and they helpfully pointed out that there is a secret door that opens out into the station, which makes leave very easy. All in all a great place to stay, and hopefully I get to use it again should I be back in Leeds.

We had our works party here. It's a lovely venue. The staff work hard to make sure your visit goes well. The food was very tasty. I had a great evening.

We arrived to lovely smelling hotel in the foyer & a warm welcome from staff members and immediately allocated our rooms. The rooms were lovely, clean, spacious and modern with to update coffee maker , ample coffe & sugar etc and had great decor on walls - especially in the bathroom. Staff attended to all our needs forthwith via telephone or in person. The beds are so.. comfortable & the large hallway mirror is great for getting ready. The bathroom products provided are top class, which suite all types of skin/hair that I went out & brought some when I got home. The breakfast is absolutely brilliant... with lots of choice and beautifully presented & kept clean at all times. Access is just the best as it's within the Leeds Train station and within the City centre. We have booked to stay again - hoping to get the rooms we want to accommodate our increased group of friends. So don't hesitate to book it's at 4* plus!!!

1st impression at entrance is great. Rooms are standard to what you would expect. The shower drain overflowed into the bathroom, and reception quickly moved me to a new room. Seated in the bar area for 10 min while four employees behind the bar didn't ask me for anything, I had to go to the bar to get service. Asked for a menu and ordered food, then told to go to the dining room as they don't serve food in the bar area. Moved to the dining room, where i was eventually told to move seats again. After this, i decided to leave to go find another restaurant for dinner. Everyone was very polite, but hospitality needs to be improved.

Beautiful hotel with stunning rooms, location perfect right at the station and convenient for Leeds Centre. Service was a bit clinical but that's not a criticism just an observation as that's probably what they are trying to achieve. Hotel bar is nice and the cocktail are to die for.

The rooms are recently refurbished and it shows, they're modern, comfortable and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful; the breakfast was lovely and the location really convenient, having an access from Leeds railway station. Parking is problematic but they offer a discounted rate on the railway station cat park however if you're preferred to walk a couple of minutes you could get cheaper overnight pre-booked parking. Bar prices appeared steep (& inconsistent with colleagues reporting differing prices on the same drinks) but there's a perfectly acceptable pub on the station if you want to avoid that slightly uneasy feeling about possibly being overcharged. That said, the bar pricing wouldn't deter me from staying again.

Beautiful, stylish hotel in the Heart of Leeds Centre. It is evident from the minute you enter the building how much the staff love this place and want to ensure guests have the best experience. The food was incredible and could not be criticised. Top Quality!! Absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be back.

Lovely twin beds. Welcoming lobby with bright 1930s decor. Complimentary wine in room on arrival. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Really good selection at the breakfast buffet Would definitely come again.

Went in with a friend for a coffee. Lovely decor and comfy seating but both our coffees were lukewarm and even though there were pastries on the menu, I was told they didn't do them anymore. Quite disappointed for such a well known hotel.

Haven't been in this hotel for many a year but what a lovely surprise. A great bar area was initially let down by a lack of staff but this was quickly put to right and we were then served in a timely manner. Pricing was not overly expensive for Leeds City centre. We made our way to a lounge area where it was extremely comfortable and spent a relaxing 30 minutes drinking and people watching. Can't wait to go back.

Great location and rooms clean and tidy. Only 3 stars as suite, upgraded as a treat, was not much bigger than a normal double. Suite door kept falling open pretty much into the head of the bed. Staff good. Big q for checkout but moved very quickly. Book restaurant before you go as very busy in the lobby, bar and restaurant

High class hotel with lots of helpful professional staff and beautiful decor. My room was very comfortable and contemporary, and very well kept and clean with a fantastic view of City Square. However, the wind howls around the top of the square like the North Pole and woke me up several times. Apart from that though, the room was really quiet and peaceful. Amazing, given the central location in one of the busiest parts of Leeds.

I only went for lunch. The hotel public areas are beautiful. Loads of comfortable seating. Menu is Pan Eurasian which I am not familiar with. Had to ask what most of the dishes were as menu did not give adequate explanation. Our choices were 2 x fillet steak sandwich on toasted ciabatta, a salmon poke bowl and a cheeseburger. Only person happy with their meal was the one who chose cheeseburger. Service from Michael was great but rest of staff were lacking. Menu was new the day before so kitchen still getting used to it. I would go again as it's a beautiful place and great location but I would have a burger or a brunch on the weekend. Probably best to book meal if you know you want to go there. We were a drop in.

Stayed at this beautiful hotel last week. Sunil went above and beyond to make our stay special. Cannot thank him enough. Michael was very attentive and responsive. Beautiful hotel, clean and staff are all very friendly and professional. Will definitely stay here again. Perfect location near the train station and near all bars, restaurants etc.

Central location within walking distance of restaurants and bars. Car parking at nearby Q parking. Had a couple of drinks in the bar which were reasonably priced and the place had a pleasant ambience. Room was contemporary and clean with everything you'd expect. Breakfast was 15 pounds, the quality and variety of food was very good would recommend. I had a room away from the elevators so do that if you can to reduce footfall noise. Would definitely stay again.

Great stay. The hotel was lovely - nicely decorated and lovely ambience in the lobby. All staff were really helpful and friendly. My room was so lovely, nicely decorated and amazing shower. The bed was super comfy. The room was clean but could have been cleaner (finding hairs in the bed and sink, water marks etc) so I removed a star

We nearly booked three other hotels and decided to ‘Settle’ for the Queens because of its location. We arrived at 11am knowing we couldn’t check in till 3pm, hoping to drop our bags and wander round the city. Absolutely not was the response from the reception dream team who wanted nothing more than our convenience to be their utmost priority. Georgina, who checked us in effortlessly made sure a room was available immediately so we didn’t have to wait. Not only was her commitment to improving our convenience her priority, she was knowledgeable, so friendly and chatted to us as if we were old friends. A far cry from the lacklustre service we have experienced elsewhere. We chose the Queens Hotel because it felt convenient but we had no idea we were booking a room with friends. A ‘room with friends’ in a hotel that has been so well renovated you may never want to leave. I doubt we’ll ever book another hotel in Leeds again. We are Queens people now.

One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in, great location, right next to the station and beautiful room and bathroom. Staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was lovely. And all for a reasonable price. Cannot fault this hotel. Would definitely stay here again :)

  • 4/5 Emma W. 1 year ago on Google
Mostly a lovely stay, just a few little niggles: Reception staff were lovely and super helpful, but service in the bar was very slow - we gave up in the end and went elsewhere. The refurbished look of the hotel was great, but no hair conditioner provided in the room, which seems like a staple elsewhere. No decaff tea bags, but a good selection of other types in there. A bit noisy at night as the original window didn't completely shut and the secondary glazing didn't fully keep the noise out. Having said all that, I would stay again.

Situated just five minutes walk away from Leeds Station this is a very conveniently located and well appointed hotel. Service and breakfast in particular were good and the bed very comfortable. Would have liked to have found the bathroom a little cleaner on arrival, otherwise recommended.

Everything was top rate and CLEAN! Service, room, bed, glassware etc. I loved the complimentary cookies 🤩 and postcards. I will definitely book a stay again. 5 stars. No problems whatsoever. Staff goes beyond and out of their way to accommodate you. The decor is beautiful, very pleasant to look at and be in. I had the best sleep I have had in the whole time I've ever been in Leeds. ~Angel
