A clean and well maintained centre in the heart of Leeds. Some shops seemed to be closed at midday but overall a good place to visit with a variety of shops.

Interesting in of shops and retailers in a nice set out setting. Worth a browse as you can more than probably pick up a bargain or two whilst enjoying a bite to eat and a drink in one of the eateries that are situated here. I recommend using the Merrion website for more information. 👌

Nice for all the different shops. Always looks a bit dated. Think it needs decorating or updating. You can find almost anything in the centre. Recommended.

A very functional shopping center with many useful shops such as Home Bargains, Morrisons and Iceland. It's incredibly handy for a cash stretched student in the city. 4 stars because it feels dated and could do with modernisation.

A brilliant centre, not a large place. We went for a Chinese meal, which was delicious. Very friendly staff. Not a big place. I can't remember the name, but it's the only one in the Merrion centre. We'll certainly visit again.

Great little centre with multitude of shops of all descriptions. Includes Morrisons, Heron, Leeds United and so many more. Some great food outlets and restaurants on the outside.

Went into the Merrion centre to pick up some Christmas cards at The Works, as well as some Chinese groceries from Sing-Kee. There's a lot more shops and restaurants than I remember, and it's becoming one of my favourite malls in Leeds, just for the independent shops that are located there. There's some cracking restaurants and, in my opinion, the best shop in Leeds - The Chill Shop!

Celebrated my daughters 9th birthday here the other evening, its our favourite Japanese restaurant. I have been bringing my children to eat here for the past 9years & we have celebrated many special occasions here. I have been coming to Fuji Hiro with my father since I was 15yrs old...I'm now 36 & I'm still coming here. I think that says everything you need to know!l about this place 🙂💯❤️🍜🥢

A place where one can go for shopping groceries with few good supermarkets, can spend time with family, sitting, eating and gossiping. Children can enjoy at the playing area. Overall a good place for family or solo visit.

The Merrion Centre is a bustling hub in Leeds, offering a diverse mix of shops and services. From grocery shopping to fashion finds, it caters to a wide range of needs. The cleanliness and accessibility add to the positive experience. While it may not be the fanciest, its practicality and variety make it a reliable destination for everyday essentials and more. It is very student friendly and has a few exquisite dinner places.

This place was worth it as it has mant big provisional stores and mostly each has offers and discount according to them. Moreover there are other stores too like for printing and stationary for clothes and for musicals instruments also. The main part of this Mall is that it has a free space for people to sit and to take rest which is very helpful old age people and mothers and sometimes for the young generations too. overall it is a great place and evey one should explore once. 😊

Been going to this place since 1985 my earliest memory. Seen many different shops in here over the years. Probably my favourite mall/centre in Leeds. Loved the history they had on show a year ago, about the building of the place.😀

This place is a bit run down but actually brilliant for parking, some great places to eat that may look like just for students but great vfm. There’s even some kid friendly seating to watch the world go by. Rare in leeds

Went to Morrisons and couldn't believe the price of some of their saver brands marmalade, strawberry jam and salad cream all under 50p the quality was good which I must admit came as a surprise. Well worth trying for yourself

Great apart from getting a fine for parking in disabled bay and displaying a disabled badge, and was only 1 hour one minute taking disabled children to see Santa explain that????

If this place had a jd/foot locker honestly would have no need to go anywhere else I get my hair cut from the barbers do shopping at times from the Morrisons and again parking is safe and secure. Just a heads up you'll see alot of shop lifting here.

Good place to shop and eat, with a good bowling alley for a fun day out. Parking is nearby but expensive depending on which one you choose but within 15min walking of the train station and city square bus stops.

Nice enough as one of Leeds' shopping centres, greatly enhanced by the presence of Jumbo Records, one of the north's finest independent record shops since 1971. There didn't appear to be a public toilet in the Merrion Centre.

I love the Merrion Center, it hasn't changed other than the ships since I went to college across the street which no longer exists, so it's nice that a unique and original part of Leeds has been somewhat unchanged and I love that. I hope it continues to remain. So many wonderful businesses a delight to walk through.

A little bit more dated than some of the other shopping centres in Leeds and it has a few empty premises, a bit less hustle and bustle. It does however have some of Rowland Emett's fantastical machines upstairs. (Above the Sugar Rush shop.) Sugar Rush have been there 3 months and the very helpful, obliging young man working there told me there used to be the Emett Museum where Sugar Rush was. There is an out of date sign by the machines upstairs stating that there are more machines downstairs - there aren't as the museum has woefully closed and gone. Boo and bah. These fantastical, imaginative machines (or "things" as Emett referred to them as) are what is left of the museum exhibits and are really rather gloriously bonkers and eccentric, very steam punk vibe. They featured in the film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang with Caractacus Potts. Every hour on the hour the machines kick in and activate and you can see them in motion doing their fun madnesses, all bar the 1st one, it wasn't working when I went. Great fun. Zany and inspirational for adults and kids alike. Highly recommended. There are also two of the Jurassic Trail dinosaurs in the Merrion Centre. There is also supposed to be a rooftop refreshment place called Multistories above the car park, 8th floor, but it was very definitely closed when I went. Good views to be had though so worth a trip up on the lift.

Great place to shop, it's pretty small but whenever I want to buy something it's usually sold here. V nice atmosphere and often there are fun things to do in the middle of it for children. Has indoor seating that isn't affiliated with a specific shop so this is a good place to sit down and hang out without having to spend money.

Popped in this afternoon noon as I saw it whilst shopping. Both staff were friendly and helpful as I were looking for vegan sweets only. There were a good range and worth the money and the lovely box they came in x also best of luck for the future with your business I think it's amazing the hard work you've put in. X

Good shopping building, but again there's a deficiency of s toilet herein or at least I couldn't find one. So good luck on that part if you need it.

Great shopping experience, had a tattoo studio and charity shops. I was also involved with the opening of KILO and will say i have never heard or bought from a retailer who sells by the kilo. Amazing day :)

Loved being back in the centre after a fee years. Loved the works and home bargins though the queues to pay were quite long. Parking is also quite dear, would recommend parking elsewhere and walking to the centre.

This is a nice airy centre plenty of shops as a cafe inside.Easy access for disabled and prams . Car park attached to the center with lift and stairs. There is morrisons and Iceland and home bargains and poundland. Very enjoyable visit.

Not the most upmarket, bit dated but iconic shopping centre. Good for cheaper end retailers. Bright and cheerful with a large Morrisons.

  • 5/5 Michelle R. 1 year ago on Google
A variety of shops are inside the centre. 2 ramps on either side of the centre are there for disabled use, which were great for Mum on her scooter. There is a lift and a ramp to get up to the next floor of shops too. Staff were present and were cleaning when necessary. The sign for the toilets was a little confusing when we got out of the lift, as they are on. Corner and can't be seen until you walk round, but found them and they were accessible and good.

Great place for shopping as well as relaxing. A few of the shops specialise in different sectors. There's also a proposed Go karts entertainment area still underway and coming soon. These little karts are electric and promises to give the occupant an exciting time

Booked online for a concert in the arena. Very easy access. There was a queue to get out which took about 40 minutes from the 1st floor. This is not a negative as it was expected. The staff were there helping the flow of traffic. The only negative is towards the vehicle owners. If you are queueing, let other people out. It doesn't benefit anyone !

Only walked through after parking in their car park, which is very very expensive. I would not recommend parking here unless you are desperate. As for the shopping center I didn't notice much. I was not aware of any empty units except one which has been a bar, so guess it has plenty of shops. I did notice at least one was a large charity shop and another was The Works.

The place is so quiet, only a handful of people. While good news for me it is sad that the shops are suffering when they need the business to keep them going. Most possibly people are staying indoors or enjoying days out due to the extremely hot weather.

On the 23/08/2022 there was a customer that was not feeling well the staff take care of the customer, the customer couldn't stand and one of the staff brought a chair for the customer to sit down and the customer after that wanted to do her shopping and the staff members were very concerned about the customer walk the customer by her side to do shopping it has astonished me to see that Morrison staff that they are altruistic... Keep it up Morrison staff you all exceptional 👏👏👏

There's no toilet in the main place, also no signs where it could be found. You can wait or joke with lot of things, but not with that one, you know... When you need it, you need it. Also, there could be few more site maps with clear information that there's NO toilet here. Everything else you can find in the slow and relaxed mode, but if you need to find THIS place.... Usually that's urgent :)

There are many kinds of goods, and it is a nice store. However, there are not enough checkout counters, and the checkout speed of the cashier is slightly slower, and it often takes more than half an hour to queue up to checkout.

I am reviewing just because of the security there. Lovely helpful and friendly as I was so lost. Excellent. A big shout out to the 2 guys that were there about 6pm who directed me to the arena and security who was there with my bag around 10.45pm. Thank you so much. You made a stressful time a bit less so.

Older style shopping centre in the heart of the city. Mostly barging, low cost shops. Pleasant surroundings with parking at the rear and access to supermarket and the First Direct Arena.
