Definitely one of the best escape room companies I’ve experienced. We loved the first room we did (Lightning in a bottle) so much that we booked to go back the following day to play “Follow in my footsteps” which was all brilliant. Both were a good level of challenging and kept us thinking and on our toes. Bob was a very helpful, accommodating and informative. We can’t wait to come back to play the last 2 rooms at some point soon!

Amazing venue, fantastic themed rooms with a really high build quality and unique puzzles making this a must do venue regardless of experience. Highly recommended

This is (still) the best escape rooms in Yorkshire I’d say. The puzzles in the rooms are well judged but not too hard, the rooms and sets are brilliant and Bob is a fantastic host who is funny and helpful. If you’ve not tried Kanyu and you like escape rooms you should give it a go!

Great puzzles, fantastic hosts and we really loved the change of scene of doing an escape room outside. We’ll be back to try the other rooms!

A thoroughly entertaining experience. It was a first time visit to an escape room for most of our group and our host was friendly, and helpful when we struggled with the puzzles. Was an excellent first visit to an escape room. We will be back!

Thoroughly enjoyable experience. First attempt at an escape room. We'd chosen the outdoor escape, but it was pouring down and they phoned beforehand to offer an indoor room to save getting soaked. Very friendly and great room

From start to finish, a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The location is beautiful and surreal - it’s literally sat on a roundabout! The theming and decor all round is fitting and adds to the whole experience. It really is all in the detail and extra touches. We were greeted instantly upon arrival and it was very clear we were in safe and passionate hands, which we always finds makes a huge difference. The kindness and conversation from our hosts was brilliant - genuinely great guys who are very good at what they do and clearly love doing it. We booked “Follow in my Footsteps“ and “Lightning in a Bottle” and I couldn’t tell you which is our favourite of the two - they were both brilliant. The story was clear, the objective was carried throughout and the puzzles were all in keeping with what was going on. We’ve done a “scuttle full” of escape rooms before so can confidently say that these Kanyu escape rooms were excellent in all aspects of theming, puzzle difficulty, amount of puzzles and surprises along the way. We like being busy in a room and Kanyu managed to keep us perfectly busy and constantly engaged. If you’re in the area - 100% stop by; whether you’ve got escape room experience or not. These rooms will give you a fantastic introduction to your new addiction or they will slide themselves into your top 10 rooms of all time without hesitation. We most definitely will return to Kanyu to play the other games on offer and we plan to do it sooner rather than later!

We’ve done 70+ escape rooms and Kanyu has impressed us both times we’ve played. “Follow in my footsteps” and “Lightning in a bottle” were so much fun and very very logical, which means that they are challenging but not confusing. We can’t wait to come back for the other two rooms! Our host John was lovely and made the experience even more enjoyable.

This is one of the best escape rooms we’ve done. We have done all three rooms and they were all fantastic. Especially loved the Leopard People because it has no locks. Really immersive. Really interactive! The owner and other guide are both really friendly and ensure you have a fantastic night out!

This was our best experience of escape rooms so far. 2 adults and 2 teens (19+13). It’s the first time we have not fallen out during one! Great theme, excellent quality of the room inc props, locks and challenges. Some nice surprises along the way and looking forward to visiting again to continue the story. Very impressed

We had a fantastic time at Kanyu escape room, probably the best one we have ever done. The puzzles were great and the set was really excellent. The game-makers have really taken care of the details.

We got a two person escape room as a present. Having never done an escape room before we didn't know what to expect or how hard it was going to be. When we arrived we were greeted by our amazing host and he explained everything for us. We loved the puzzles in the escape room, finding it the perfect difficultly. We're now hooked so we want to come back and try the other rooms!

Took my 13 year old and his 3 mates for his birthday. They absolutely loved it. They did 2 rooms back to back, which Kanyu very kindly arranged as we didn't want an hour's gap in between. All the staff we met were very friendly and put any worries the boys had to bed. Great experience, they all loved the challenge and I think they might have an escape room bug now.

We've been to a number of escape rooms as a family, and I'd rate Kanyu as one of the best ones. Challenging without being too hard, great set design, and the host was really good at introducing the game and helping us when we needed it. Would definitely recommend, and already looking forward to going back to do the other rooms!

Absolutely brilliant and entertaining. The time flew by and the room was so engaging!! Our host was so friendly and helpful in the set up and de-brief, as well as giving us some hints along the way! I couldn’t recommend more highly! We’ll be going back!!

This is a great room escape experience! The host is excellent and the rooms are really fun and a lot of effort has been put into the themes and puzzles. I highly recommend doing all of them!

My wife and I along with a couple of friends visited Kanyu having never visited an escape room previously. Bob was a wonderful host and made us feel very comfortable as he explained the basic experience and principles of the challenge we were about to experience. If only we'd retained what he told us! The whole experience was very immersive and the set decoration and theme-ing was excellent. Bob provided assistance remotely and we needed lots of it. It was a really enjoyable experience and we have already told lots of people about it and encouraged them to try it.

Went as a group of five and did the Lightning in a Bottle room. I've been to a few different escape rooms and the setup for this was by far one of the best I've seen. The room itself was excellently presented and looked exactly like I'd expect a laboratory to look like inside. There were loads of puzzles, some causing a lot more difficulty than others, and a great variety of locks to interact with - we got out with 51 seconds to spare from the hour given but the whole experience felt like it flew by much quicker. Highly recommended, can't wait to try the other rooms!

We played Follow in my Footsteps as a family of four. Bob was a really welcoming host. The room itself was brilliant - without revealing too much, it was really fun and nice to see independent and unique rooms/puzzles. Definitely want to return to play the other rooms!

MORE than excellent! It was my first escape room and for my teens too... sooooooo good! Didn't know what to expect as it was the first time, but money very well spent! So disappointed when we had to stop... could do it for hours! We will DEFINITELY go back there to try the other rooms! The owner was very friendly and helpful, thanks again for such a nice time! I will recommend it for sure!

Brilliant escape room. Our group of 5 (3 generations from 11 to 70 plus years old) did the Follow in my Footsteps room. Theming was fantastic, lots of varied puzzles with just the right level of difficulty. Our host John was also great, making us feel very welcome, introduced the room well and gave just the right amount of hints so we could progress without feeling like we hadn't done it ourselves. Thoroughly enjoyable way to spend an hour - we'll be back to do another.
