Beautiful hostel to stay at whenever you are in Leh. It is some 2.5 km away from the main market which makes it a quite abode in a peaceful lane instead of being in the middle of a market. We were a group of 6 individuals and had one dorm room for ourselves. The sharing toilets and washrooms were clean and the bunk beds were nice. I specifically found the blanket quite cozy. Loved how well-versed Sudhanshu was in terms of hospitality. We stayed there for 3 nights and I personally have zero complaints towards the property and people. Highly Recommended for backpackers

So i had the view room with 10 total bunk beds in two rooms with two attached bathrooms. The host is very nice and chill and will accommodate you very reasonably. The price of the place is also very cheap based on the fact how clean it is kept. You have the rooms and beds and cabinet (FYI if you are afraid about the safety of your luggage carry a lock as it is not provided). It's perfectly safe as well. No issue of theft. Drinking Water is provided at the ground floor. There is hot water in the bathroom as well. One pillow and one blanket is given. There is a very small issue of power cut and no backup is available but not much of an issue. More than adequate charging facilities are provided and there are table fans as well. There are common areas as well to order and eat or just chill out and network. Board games are also present. Mountains of spituk are visible from the rooftop which has adequate seating arrangements as well. Wifi works splendidly. you can catch a 10 rupees bus from here to the market so it is very accessible as well.

A home away from home. Himalayan Bunker Leh was definitely one of the main reasons for a memorable experience I had on my solo trip to Ladakh. Having barely any expectations, I arrived in Leh around 9pm without any reservations for the night, desperately hoping Himalayan Bunker would be the best place to crash and that I wouldn't have to walk around looking for another option. Rightfully so, the staff managed to make quick arrangements within a few minutes for me and a couple of friends I met on the bus. The next few days I spent here were truly magical, now that I am far away in some corner reminiscing the trip. The rooms were clean, and the beds are far more than comfortable for a peaceful sleep after a tough day of riding/hiking. Washrooms are well-maintained, with the only drawback of not having heaters/geysers. They rely on solar heaters which may not be very effective on 1 out of 7 days when it gets cloudy (although, a cold shower in 12-15 degrees Celsius is an experience in itself that you should try at least once). The common areas are super lively. There's a dining/meeting room (since there's no food allowed in the dormitories itself), a lounge with few diwans and seats laid out right in front of the entry, a reception and a rooftop where you can chill or party with friends. Drinking water and kettles to boil water is also made available on the ground floor. Free high speed WiFi is available, along with abundant charging ports. You can find out about bike rentals or cabs in case you need it from the reception. The staff aren't exactly staff, they treat you like family if you are the type that would reciprocate. It was super fun to meet Sudhanshu in person, knowing him initially for his popularity from the other reviews. He guided us wherever possible, helping us chalk out plans to explore Leh and prepare an itinerary to visit the other parts of Ladakh. Sudhanshu, along with the team (Cheffy bhai, Fauji bhai, and everyone else) blended in so well with us, it felt like meeting people we'd probably known for ages. If I were to come back to Leh tomorrow, I would not give a second thought about the place I'd be staying in, Himalayan Bunker all the way!

I stayed here for four nights. Dorms appeared clean but were full of houseflies in the morning. Sleep was disturbed because of those houseflies early in the morning. Staff were very helpful. We weren't allowed to use the kitchen, but instead one can place food orders. There was trouble getting hotwater from the tap, hence water-heater coil was provided. This place is located on Leh-Manali highway, near Cheetah Chowk, 2km away from the main market. Govt buses are available to reach the market/airport from the hostel.

Leh ladakh trip is very beautiful trip, this trip is not successful without the help of Mr. Dev Thakur. He is the only person who cares about the guest or hotel. Other members are also very helpful specially the owner of this himalayan bunker.

Nice place to take rest after long drive and sightseeing afterwards. I went with my family and the stay was good, my son enjoyed the stay a lot because the hosts are welcoming and friendly. Parking is on the road but that's ok. Food was delicious. The best part is the location of this place. I continued towards Hunder from here.

I recently had the opportunity to stay at the Himalayan Bunker Hostel in Leh and I must say it was a delightful experience. This budget friendly hostel offers dormitory style accommodation at very reasonable pricing, making it an ideal choice for travelers on a budget. Rooms are clean, comfortable and well maintained. The beds are cozy and come with individual lockers to keep your belongings safe. The rooms are also adequately equipped with power sockets and reading lights for each bed, which is a thoughtful addition. Whether you are a budget conscious traveler or simply enjoy the camaraderie of a hostel environment, this place is worth considering for your stay in Leh.

We regretted booking rooms here. Our washroom is just behind the common washroom and is open to access. We somehow managed to spend our 2 nights here. We even asked for a room change but it was not possible. Okayish experience. You can find better place to stay somewhere else.

Good place to stay in Leh if you are looking for a budget stay. Food is somewhat expensive than other restaurants in the city, but quality was good. This hostel is easily accessible from Leh main city

We enjoyed this place far more than we expected to. We felt comfortable right from the time we stepped into this cozy place. We were here for ten days, and it is perfect to meet a lot of new people. The entire staff team is very respectful, sweet and very chill, and treated us like family. The food is good and many options are available, but takes a bit of time to prepare. If you are up for a pocket friendly dorm experience and don't mind all the different kinds of people you will get to meet and share space with, then this place is highly recommended. The only con is the issue of houseflies, which we later realised is present in many other places too.

The place is excellent place to stay. Being little away from city but it is like center to airport and market. U can get buses easily to travel to main market. Staff is friendly and helpful & always there for the need of the guest.

An incredibly accommodating stay, with extremely friendly and hospitable staff. Located a short walk from the hustle and bustle, which is ideal for peaceful nights. Delicious meals available with brilliant social areas to meet other travellers. Highly recommend.

The location is a bit specific but I liked it. It was a bit out of the city and closer to the airport, so I could actually come there by foot. Then to the city you can catch these local buses for 10r that drive every few minutes. The hostel itself is very affordable and has nice common areas and dorms. They have good food also. One of the most important things about hostels for me is the information provided. Here I have gotten all the information from the local Stanzin, which helped me so much by getting around Ladakh. Definitely recommend.

Your Second Home in Leh Just 10 minutes away from the airport, The Himalayan Bunker is the best hostel to go as you land in Leh It's clean, cozy, and well maintained. The turquoise theme of the hostel gives it a unique vibe. The corridor is a good place to chill, listen to music, connect with fellow travellers, or take those candid photos. The host Sudhanshu is very warm and welcoming. He helped us out with every little query we had. The food at this place is also pretty good. The chefs are accommodating. The neighbouring area is quiet and has some very cute neighbours.

Loved our stay. The staff were super friendly and very helpful. It is a little walk from the centre but lovely walk up and got to see way more of the town because of it. It was very clean and tidy with great communal space. The food service wasn’t that fast but put in order 40 mins before and can do other stuff and they will get you when it’s ready. Great food through with big range. The three bed dorm was really good as had a private bathroom but we also did the 10 bed dorm and that was still amazing. Only problem was the other people wouldn’t dry the floor in the bathroom but that’s was nothing to do with the staff or hostel.
