The
Terrace
has
prominent
signage
in
the
Leh
Market.
Its
I
❤
Terrace
sign
is
pretty
prominent
from
street-level.
It's
always
nice
sitting
on
an
open
terrace
at
Leh,
more
so
it
has
views,
but
I
was
mystified
by
the
Terrace's
apparent
popularity
with
foreign
tourists.
So,
on
a
cloudy
afternoon
I
climbed
up
a
flight
of
beautiful
wooden
stairs
to
an
amazingly
large
space.
It's
a
terrace
alright.
Its
spaciousness
isn't
evident
from
street-level.
The
Terrace
has
an
indoor
dining
area,
perhaps
for
chilly
Ladakhi
days,
but
its
clear
draw
is
the
large
terrace
where
seating
is
in
two
parts
-
an
uncovered
terrace
which
is
covered
by
a
cloth
awning
on
especially
sunny
days,
and
a
pleasant
shaded
area
with
a
thick
coir
and
cane
covering.
The
ambience
is
enhanced
by
music,
dance
and
techno.
The
Terrace's
menu
is
eclectic,
global
cuisine
plus
Indian.
Backpackers
may
find
its
prices
a
stretch.
Even
the
humble
banana
shake
is
USD
2.5
and
the
same
goes
for
finger
chips.
I
ordered
a
butter
chicken(half),
and
tandoori
rotis.
The
food
is
certainly
yumm.
The
Terrace
definitely
has
a
good
kitchen.
There
was
nothing
by
way
of
accompaniment
-
not
even
a
humble
slice
of
a
cucumber
or
onion.
The
Terrace
certainly
has
built
up
a
name
despite
the
pricey
menu,
coz
this
is
the
busiest
restaurant
in
Leh
I've
ever
seen.
There
was
a
constant
flow
of
happy
diners,
and
the
terrace
was
more
or
less
at
full
capacity.
