A lovely 😊 lace for families with children and dogs. Pathways are clearly defined both grass and stone. Easy to walk on but not great for pushchairs nor wheelchairs. Good size car park with a couple of picnic tables and plenty of seats dotted around. I thought it was a place where tree species are noted but it isn’t, more like in loving memory and orientation posts. The Arboretum has the golf course on one side and the path follows the side of the golf course with a little stream dividing them. There is a tall metal gate that leads onto the golf course but I didn’t go that way. I was told by a friendly dog Walker that the main stone path goes in s circle but there also was a crescent pathway going off to the left which is worth taking. I went in June and the meadows in the centre were beautifully dotted with cow parsley and buttercups. I was told in autumn the trees are outstanding in there colour, a site I look forward to seeing. Although there are many dog walkers that use this place, it was clean of any of there waste (apart from two bags that had been thrown onto the bushes. The final walk on the path was near to the shady Lane road yet still enjoyable. I would recommend this place.

Really cute walking spot, feels a million miles away from the city. Lovely mix of trees, open space, fresh air and even a nice clear stream! Boys and dogs loved it and so did I!

Just a bit off the beaten path for "town folk" but just nice to stroll in the dry. The warning about entering the path on Evington Golf Course was funny!!

Nice park for dog walks etc. Free parking for about 15-20 cars. Nice clear water stream with shallow areas, and fallen trees great for children to venture around.

It is what it says! A nice quiet place full of a variety of trees tucked away in the edge of the city. Plenty of benches all over. Long grass, great for dogs. Stream flows through it, hill on the N side, S of the stream relatively flat. Piggy's hollow worth a wander. Don't expect cafes, fast food, it's a bit of nice quiet unspoilt countryside! Even got Roman history, the via deveana (Roman colchester-chester road) may almost certainly passes through the golf course & Southern end of the park.

A very pleasant place to walk your dog or just yourself, 20+ car park, Trees everywhere, a brook to splash in and piggys hollow where I used to play as a child, we walked 3 miles to get there, Which would probably exhaust today's children lol.

Great place to walk and just escape a bit of the city grind without traveling too far from the city. Don't know much about the trees planet in the Arboretum, but it's amazing know there a collective of trees species. Great for kids to explore. Awsome space to let your doggies explore and meet other doggies. People are generally very nice, respectful and responsible. Its clean and and well kept. It can be a bit muggy so the appropriate foot gear may be necessary at times. Parking can be tight but most times there's a place to park.

Utterly beautiful. My mum and I arrived just as a kestrel circled overhead. The arboretum is beautifully managed. There are a wonderful array of trees. You can either walk along various paths or go onto the grass. In the summer large sections of the grass and the nettles etc are left high to encourage insects and birds. But there are always wide paths through these areas. A joy to be treasured.

Visited on a bank holiday. Very attractive arboretum with lots of opportunities to walk either on or off track and an orienteering route too. Lovely Brook running through and site of a medieval settlement. Only pity was the number of people smoking cannabis here - more council/police patrols needed I think especially as lots of children around (maybe I'm just being old!) but I don't agree with it in public spaces like this.

I love this hidden area. Small gravel car park accessed shady lane. Not great for pushchairs or wheelchairs as path ways are limited - mostly grass which is left to grow quite long. No toilets either. But a really lovely area to walk or walk dogs.

Little gem in Leicester! During lockdown, we've been exploring all the green areas in Leicester and this is something special. It's got lots of lovely green areas to explore, lots of small paths and walks. Make sure you go to the end of he Arboretum that connects to the golf course and sneak into the course itself. If Golf isn't on one evening, it's a really cool place to have a cheeky picnic. Possible during lockdown, not sure how easy otherwise though!

This is a brilliant place to walk your dog, wander by yourself, or with the family. There is plenty of access to the stream which my dog can't wait to jump in and a few seats and benches dotted around. My only issue is that there aren't enough bins to put waste in else I would have awarded 5 stars

Nice walk around the arboretum skirting the Leicestershire GC. There is a right of way through the GC but not for us this time.

A good place to have a small walk, or walk your dog. It's not huge, and can be explored in half an hour or so. You can however walk in to Evington from here and get a coffee/beer from the local pub/cafe. From here you can also walk up to the Cow and Plough and Stoughton Grange Farm shop.

Lovely place to walk with the dog, let down by other dog owners who don't keep their unfriendly dog on leash and let them attack my puppy then walk off without so much as a sorry.

Fantastic place to walk with dogs and little in ones. I came with a young man who has autism and challenging behaviour was nice flat land and safe enough to allow some freedom

My first time in an arboretum, lots of variety but I had imagined a place like this would have a lot more trees and be more wild

I usually love parks. I might like this more with time and if the weather is better/less muddy. I probably took the wrong path as well; there didn't seem to be a non muddy one. Wear Wellington boots if it's rained that day There is a car park The Brook is accessible and can be viewed, I was worried it might be walled off on the golf course side There didn't seem to be a wide variety of trees etc

Lovely place to walk or run or just stroll around. There are lots of different routes around to add variety, also some nice trees and plants to see and a stream that kids or pets can enjoy. It also has some benches to sit and eat and its possible to picnic there. You can also walk onto the public path that goes onto the golf course via the Arboretum.
