Came here for a small birthday family meal Had been highly recommended The decor was great and the manager on shift I think his name was Sanjeev was very welcoming and chatty The food came out quickly and was a good temp It looked amazing. Very tasty and fresh food you can tell by just looking at it The food was nice. I had the platter. I herd the portion sizes are small so thought I could eat it all The food was tasty and was quality over quantity. All the food I had I enjoyed. Each with their own twist and authentic flavours. As mentioned not the biggest portion size but you don’t mine when it’s good like this Beware does have a kick so if you can’t handle it maybe mention it when ordering Clean and a big place. Would come here again Keep up the great work

Great food and great service. Just avoid sitting under an A/C because the temperature of your food will go cold very quickly. Portions are big! Value for money. Taste is good, would definitely go again.

Great service with fine dine experience! This restaurant offers great taste and authentic Indian food. The range of food is wide and a lot of options for vegetarians. The place gives you a vibe of elite fine dine in India. We tried veg chowmein , kebab , palak patta chat , momos , paneer tikka , chicken tikka , dal makhani , chicken changezi all were on the point. There is limited parking options near by but you can be lucky and get one right in the front.

If you prefer to enjoy small plates and chill with family and friends, Saffron street would be a good choice for you. We went there to celebrate my husbands birthday and we ordered Tandoori chicken, grilled lamb kebab and some pilau rice. Honestly, we wanted something small for dinner so these small plates absolutely suited us and tasted really good. I wish they could provide more choices of curry for us to choose as well. The price is reasonable and I appreciate the staff there as the staff were very welcome to us as I made a wrong reservation in one of branch in London instead of Leicester. Thank you for this lovely meal x

Amazing taste, can’t wait for our next trip. Authentic Indian flavours. Such different flavours. The choice of food is endless. First of its type. Not only excellent presentation, but also mouthwatering taste. Lots of vegetarian options available as well.

I don't understand the seating in this place, honestly it felt like a concentration camp. All the diners are placed close together, no space whatsoever, and we're surrounded by the workers. The menu was weird, don't get why they couldn't label items as starters and mains. The foods good until you get to the curries, they're not the best, we had the thali and the meat wasn't all that but the butter chicken was something else, something else that belongs in the bin.

NOODLES NOT WHAT IT SEEMS Honestly food was so tasty!! I wish they had more puri's with the pani puri as we had so much liquid left over but it was so tasty This altogether was enough to feed 3-4 people Next time I probably would get one less daquiri as they are SO filling - honestly 1 is enough for 2 people. I also probably wouldnt get the vegetable chowmein again - it was tasty but it was 50% an enormous carrot to hold the fork up for the "floating" effect. I'd say there was not even enough noodles for 1 sole portion and for £8.50 it wasnt worth the money at all. Other than that everything else was so delicious! The butter chicken and masala chips are a MUST try We ordered : Pani Puri [ very nice ] Passionfruit + Mango Daquiri [ nice ] Strawberry Daquiri [ nice ] Butter chicken [ excellent ] Garlic Naans [ excellent ] Vegetable chowmein [ decent but definitely not value for money ] Masala Chips [ excellent ]

I've been to many restaurants around the world and when it comes to tasty delicious food, this is one of the best. I came here with a group of friends who had been there before a couple of times. The ambience was inviting and the staff were very welcoming and attentive. Every plate of food was enjoyable. The Nihari lamb shank biryani was spectacular and the pershuwari naan had pistachios in them which really elevated it. The drinks especially the mocktails were really good. The bubblegum daiquiri was like a bubblegum slushie. Desserts included deep fried ice-cream and balaklva sandwich. All in all, really good value for money. I will definitely be coming back here as there are so many things I want to try on the menu.

Most beautiful ambience and lovely staff to visit. Butter chicken and Handi chicken have incredibly authentic Indian flavours. Keer was mad😋😋. Everything was lovely and wonderful; the only thing that bothered me was the size of the dining plates.

*Best Indian Food So Far!!!* Went there yesterday as one of my friends recommended this place multiple times. Did online booking (please you also do the same as it was so busy when I went and thank god I got seat) Tried Vegetarian food. We ordered Dahi puri, veg handi and garlic naan and at the end Fried Icecream. Each item has its own awesome taste and good quantity for 2 people per plate. We paid around £30. Parking is not available so you need to search in nearby streets. Must visit. Best service. Best taste and quantity. Must try: Dahi Puri, fries icecream.

Visited for the first time yesterday for Eid with my family, I was a little skeptical originally as this place has mixed reviews. On arrival it was super busy as expected with Eid, nevertheless we were seated promptly, the atmosphere was good & so was the cleanliness overall, the toilets could do with regular checks during peak hours as they weren’t the cleanest, our table also felt very cramped for 7 people + 2 babies with high chairs. Our food arrived very quickly given how busy it was however nothing tasted old or cold infact, every dish we had was very nice & tasted fresh. The thaali’s felt good value for money as 2 adults would be full on 1 to share, nice variety of nibbles & dishes on each one. Overall great experience and I can see myself coming back, I didn’t give it 5* as I feel the cramped table & toilet cleanliness let this place down.

The biryani dish was delicious.. the meat was hot coked and fresh.. the other dish was average.. Unfortunately, the pictures that I saw invaded me. I was expecting big portion but the dishes were small.. The atmosphere of the restaurant is great and the decor also was wonderful..

Very bad experience, would advise against supporting this business. The young man who said he was the ‘owner’ has some awful customer service skills and a very big ego. My sister booked a table for half 7 for our day after Eid meal, and after they rang multiple times to move the time later so they could meet her request of us all sitting together which we agreed on as it was important for us having a lot of kids with (about maybe 20 of us) - when we got there there was a long wait only for him to deny anything of the sort ever happened, claim it’s company policy to not sit more than 15 people together (very bizarre) and call my brother and sister liars for saying so! Never heard an owner call their customer a liar.. My sister even showed him the multiple call logs but he kept choosing to insist he was right. His ego is actually so huge he told my brother we can leave if we’re not happy. I think the success of having 3.9 stars on google reviews has gotten to his head to be talking customers like that. We sat down for a bit still in shock by what had just happened and soon after decided to go elsewhere, who accommodated us without problems. When I’ve been in the past prices were high and only one starter out of everything was worth talking about anyway. Definitely will be advising anyone against this and have also recommended against so on social media on my business page. I understand saffron does wedding catering also, I’d recommend avoiding this also as he has clearly shown he can let you down at the last minute and somehow blame it on you!

Staff were welcoming. Everything went smoothly from start to finish. Staff were very helpful and went out if their way to help. Food portions are quite big!, but worth it. The atmosphere was good and there was no obligation that you had to leave at a certain time. Would recommend it and will be visiting again to try more dishes.

Very reasonably priced, quick service, prayer room facilities. The butter chicken in the platter was the best thing. Probably would be too much if it was a bigger portion as it had quite a sweet taste. The mocktail jugs are equivalent to 3 glasses. All round great experience.

Finally a really good indian restaurant in Leicester. The food is really tasty and the service is good too. I have managed to get a table pretty quickly so have been lucky but this restaurant is usually so busy, so consider to arrive early if you're a big group and want to go at peak times ( there are no Bookings).

Right from the beginning, the service was awesome. I received a message to inform they were runningate on reservation. Then another call confirming table was ready. At the the table plates and glasses were warm. Very clean. Food was spot as described on the menu. It was very well cooked. Loved the Lamb Musallam. Overall, excellent!

Been a couple of time to the restaurant. The staff is amazing, the atmosphere is nice and bright with a street view. Food served is very authentic. You can taste the quality of the food. The quantities and rates are impressive as well. We love their Chicken lollipop, Chicken 65 noodles, Dal Makhani, and Veg Kolhapuri. Their Dahi puri just bursted with layers of flavours. Will try the Chickens tandoori next time.

There was 12 of us and went here because we had heard good things about the London branch. The place is nice and has a nice vibe. We ordered a variety of starters and mains and everything was tasty and flavourful. Everyone enjoyed everything. The staff were polite and very attentive too. We went one day before Ramadan started and it was their last day before they closed for a month, so some things were out of stock in the mix grill but they happily swapped them items for alternatives. Abit on the pricey side but would definitely recommend.

One of the best In Indian restaurant in Leicester. We just visited there and cannot stop praising the quality of the food and the taste ! We have come from London and thought we haven't had such authentic Indian food for ages. The staff were very polite and friendly and made our friends birthday amazing. The manager Sanjeev was really helpful.

Food: Freshly prepared and full of flavour. Food is brought out as its made. If you like South Indian flavours you'll enjoy it Service: was good, I booked the table online and got a courtesy call on the day to confirm it. Staff were pleasant and friendly Atmosphere: Lively, busy place in a popular location. I'd recommend booking a table particularly if you're going on a Friday or Saturday. Shaxos Travel on YT

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Saffron Street Restaurant in Leicester, UK, and I must say it was an exceptional experience that left a lasting impression. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was greeted with warm hospitality and an inviting atmosphere that set the tone for the entire evening. The restaurant itself exuded an elegant yet cozy ambiance, with tasteful decor and comfortable seating arrangements. The lighting was just right, creating an intimate and relaxed setting. The attentive and friendly staff immediately made me feel welcome, taking care of every detail throughout the meal. Saffron Street's menu showcased a tantalizing array of dishes from various regions of the Indian subcontinent. The extensive selection made it challenging to decide, but the knowledgeable staff was more than happy to offer recommendations based on personal preferences. Overall, Saffron Street Restaurant is a gem in Leicester's culinary scene. From the inviting atmosphere to the impeccable service and, most importantly, the sensational food, every aspect of our dining experience was nothing short of superb. I highly recommend visiting this establishment for an unforgettable journey through the flavors of the Indian subcontinent.

Me and my friends popped into this place after dinner to try their dessert as had been wanting to try the fried ice cream for a while. Let's just say its the best fried ice cream I have had 👌 so light, crispy on the outside and full of flavour 10/10 . I could eat one full one on my own its that good!

Nicely presented dishes. Taste was good. The shared platters only feed 2 probably so for a family order more. Wasn't a fan of the noodles if I'm honest. Parking is really difficult. Inside is beautifully decorated and spacious and clean. Staff are friendly.

Very good family resturant. Easy access including wheelchair. Food is really good. One of the waiter seemed new so he did not have information on some of the items on the menu. He was happy to find out for us on a few occasions. Generally good service. One concern is the baby high chairs are not very clean They could do with them cleaned properly. Generally the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Posh restaurant with beautiful ambiance. I ordered Daal Makhani. Loved it. Hats off to the chef who made it (Taste exactly as we get in Pakistan). 5/5. I ordered Falooda after main meal. Didn’t like it. Would give it 1/5.
