Just dined in the restaurant part of this grand establishment. The service was perfect, pleasant, attentive and swift. The food was absolutely spot on! Fresh fish tasted so good, chips were fantastic, gorgeously succulent jumbo battered sausages, fish goujons, curry sauce and the moussaka was all gorgeous!!!! Cheesecakes were out of this world! Absolutely loved it!! Thank you to all the staff and owners for a fantastic experience!

I love this restaurant. If you were born before the 2000’s you’ll recognise the wonderful taste of chips the way they used to be. They also have a very good Gluten Free menu and all the Gluten Free food is cooked separately. We have a friend who can only eat gluten free and this is a great place to eat. Green Lane Chippy serves the usual chip shop food, pies, battered sausage etc and there is a take-away counter as well as dining in section. It is worth looking at the specials menu too though. I’ve had the home made pie before and it was lovely. They serve alcoholic drinks as well as soft drinks, tea and coffee. The staff are always polite and helpful. We were offered extra chips but we were too full to have them. There is a small car park behind the restaurant and a convenience store next door. You can park on the road but remember it is a residential area. Thanks for reading

When I returned to my favourite chippy recently I was pleasantly surprised that even through the Financial Times we are all experiencing they had only increased their prices marginally, sadly though I realised why, so the same price for a battered cod (one size no large no medium no small) and so I bought 2 to make up for the fact that they are cutting the pieces into two but charging the same, please see pics of you don’t believe me. Will be going elsewhere, this is NOT. a review of the adjoining Restaurant which you cannot fault, in my opinion.

Recently ordered a gluten free fish and chips for my partner and was absolutely fantastic. Really accommodating for Coeliacs as they’ve got quite a few options. Even separated the gluten free fish from the chips in the box with a sheet which I thought was quite above and beyond considering how busy they were for take out. Highly recommend!

Absolutely first class again, we went in the restaurant for our Good Friday tradition and were treated (as always) to fabulous food. The staff are always helpful and friendly 🙂

Tasty, traditional, fish, chips and peas, plus pies, burgers, soup, prawns, calamari and more - gluten free! We had the fish, chips and peas and they were fantastic! The Green Lane Chippy features an old school carry out counter inviting you off the sidewalk with a lovely sit down restaurant adjacent. Those who require Gluten free know that GF can be as good or better than its non-gf counterparts and Green Lane does it very well! If you are visiting the Greater Manchester area or northwest of England in general, you’ll want to dine in or carry out at the Green Lane Chippy.

I’ve just had sausage chips and gravy here and I have to say it was fantastic. Lovely clean premises, no queue (lots of staff) and lovely helpful staff. Thanks. Highly recommended.

Went in for lunch...fish and chips was excellent.. fresh fish can and crispy batter. Chips crunchy and not dry. Mushy peas a tad too thick could have done with a bit of water to make it a bit looser. Tartar sauce tasted alright. What let the side down was the excessive sauce on my prawn cocktail. Eat it I did but ib opinion far too much sauce and not ideal served in a ice cream glass. Probably easier to eat in a bowl or bigger dish. All in all very good fish and chips and service was brilliant. Looking forward to trying the whitebait on our next visit. 8/10 :-) 😀

Definitely the best fish and chips I've had in Greater Manchester. Was greeted by the owner/manager on arrival with a bit of banter and a handshake. The staff are very hard working hard and the food was excellent.

Have had two meals here. Small fish & chips for an evening meal, very tasty. Decided on a healthier meal for lunch so had jacket potato with tuna mayo. Staff very friendly. Large choice of meals. Downside not easy to park outside but plenty of side streets to park in.

Fantastic food, fresh and hot, I go here every Friday. The servers are friendly and really efficient , but the owner is at times impatient with the staff which is why the 4 stars for atmosphere. Food is amazing, big portions and the prices are competitive to the rest of the town. Very well known and established chippy.

Visited 11th January. What an absolute gem this place is. I have visited chip shops from all around the UK as travelling around is part of my job and can honestly put this chip shop in the very premium top level establishments for both service and food quality. It is clear to see why awards have been given to them. Well deserved. Thank you for the amazing meal, will be visiting again as soon as my travels bring me back in this part of the country.

This is an exceptional, traditional chippy and a regular haunt of ours. The food is always fresh and hot. My hubby always has the prawn cocktail to start (it's amazing). Mario and the staff are friendly and chatty. A real gem of a place.

Amazing food served by lovely people. Festive pie was absolutely lovely with all the accompaniments. Certainly be back.
