Colorful Mexican spot with some frida kahlo and other cultural souvenirs splashed on the walls. The decor is simple yet chic and the vibe is perfect for a group hang. Must reserve if you’re heading over on the weekend. Liked - the cocktails (sureno with the pink gin), friendly service, exhaustive menu options, burrito chihuahua (specifically). Disliked - waiting for our food long enough to get a tad bit annoyed and then be served a misplaced plate of burrito order.

This place has a great reputations when it comes to Mexican cuisines. It’s delicious and workers are very friendly. I like the atmosphere as well! I went there for y friend’s birthday celebration and for farewell party for his one year trip abroad. I definitely recommend this place for anyone who likes to try out new cuisine or loves Mexican food!

Great place. Great food. Very friendly service. Fun decor. Casual ambience. Great cocktails. Loved the food and the hospitality. Dips were medium spicy and food that was indicated as spicy had the right spice levels. No extra charges for the nachos and salsa on the table.

What an outstanding restaurant! First you get a warm welcome in a very trendy eye catching interior! Once seated you can chose from a very broad menu. And what you get served is so good, so tasteful, one word: AWESOME!!!!

This is a good Mexican inspired restaurant. The chips and salsa were prepackaged but tasted oké. The Enchiladas are very tasty, and the portions were fair. They were certainly cooked fresh with generous amounts of meat. I do wish mine had more green chili though. My only strong complaint is that the chips and salsa are not homemade.

As a Mexican, I was glad to eat here. Fajitas of Chicken/Meat were really tasty and good portion. With real Corn Tortillas.

Called for table reservations. .but they forgot to put on the system. Food quantity gone down although price went up over the years...food quality is constant 👌.

Have several vegetarian options and a good drink menu; tried the Chili sin carne, was more like a vegetarian stew (could have been dryer and better); chili cheese and nachos were well prepared.

I had a delightful experience at this Mexican restaurant. It was a pleasant surprise, and I can confidently say it's one of the best Mexican restaurants I've ever been to. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was inviting. I'll definitely be returning for more!

Food was good, but pricy. I will not come back. It’s a shame. There was a table filled with 40 people who were drunk and just kept on yelling, clapping on the tables, and being very loud. We didn’t understand each other when we were trying to talk. Meanwhile the waiters kept on bringing the large table new shots. Also, we reserved a table at 8.30 and only got our table at 8.40 so we were standing awkwardly in the corridor for a long time.

Super place. Attentive and good fun staff. Festive atmosphere. I very much enjoyed the Mexican tapas and would have them again. The regular Mexican dishes appeared fine but less inspiring.

It is the best Mexican restaurant in Europe. I 1 haven't had the opportunity to visit Mexico, but l've frequented many Mexican restaurants in Europe. This restaurant, in particular, is my number one choice. The food is amazing, the ambiance is fantastic, and the staff are friendly and helpful. They provide fast service. I even travel from Germany to Leuven occasionally just to have dinner there. One thing worth mentioning is that I love cocktails. However, there is one issue - the "piña colada" is premade, and the taste isn't as pleasant because the creamy flavor is lost. I understand that margaritas are also premade, but for some reason, they work well with margaritas. I hope I get to visit again soon and enjoy another great meal! 😊

I don’t give a full rating because in my opinion the prices are on the high end for how small the dishes are. We also had to wait a long time both for them to take our food order and later to be served food.

Amazing food! I had a spicy burrito with some extra sides and it was well worth the price. Fast and friendly service as well as a great atmosphere.

Very beautiful traditional drawings. Service very polite and timely. Food was delicious. If you are not fan of spicy though there are less options! The waiter even brought a compliment churros dessert for the birthday of my daughter! Lovely experience.

The food was good, the only problem I have is that there was nothing special about it. Something I could've done myself. If you have eaten at a Mexican restaurant in Mexico you may be disappointed about the menu, some very traditional tacos are missing and there are no gringas on the menu? Service was really good and the prices too.

At time of writing I am 39 years old. I have never in my life ordered a second desert until yesterday at El Sombreros. It was just that good.

Food is not authentic Mexican, and even as fake Mexican food is far from good. The staff is nice and friendly, but the food and drinks is just not good. They abuse of the sour cream. The drinks are also bad, margaritas are bitter, and made with artificial lime juice. Same for sunshine drink.

Lovely food! Not a steal, not expensive, but definitely worth its price tag! Highly recommended! Staff is fluent in both Dutch & English

Every month, we visit el sombrero, without a doubt the best Mexican in Belgium. The authentic atmosphere, colourful interior and typical dishes immerse you completely in the Mexican atmosphere and culture. I refer everyone to el sombrero for the best Mexican experience! ( The Margeritas, chili con carne and burrito poblano are my absolute favourites)

Got in at around 8pm on a Friday without a reservation (we sent a message but recommend calling them) and they found us a spot! Prompt service, nicely portioned and very tasty. Tried the margaritas and banana burrito. Lovely interior. Would definitely come back.
