Okinii makes Sushi that is comparable with any other Sushi restaurant in Essen, only you get as much as you can eat... We never came close to the order limit, it's a huge amount of delicious, fresh and variable food. Besides Sushi the menu offers some soups and warm dishes. The recent swap to ordering via your smartphone was 100% successful for us. The waitresses know every dish and can answer pretty much every question for Sushi noobs, and are generally nice and quick. After five visits I gathered 0 complaints, and we will surely come here again. Edit: Another three visits later and I still love this restaurant. The food changed a bit over time, the sauces got sweeter (which I personally don't like) and the dishes adjusted. Less my taste now, but still a solid 4.5/5.

Amazing płace on Gastro map of Essen. Sadly all menus are in German, waitresses doesn’t speak well in English. Regarding restaurant: we enter the orders on the tablet, available on each table. in one order, folded every 15 minutes, there can be up to 5 dishes. after 15 minutes, you can order another 5 dishes. all together you can order 10 times. Be careful not to order too much food. for uneaten dishes, additional penalties, amounting to 1 or 2 euros.

Overall it was a pleasant visit. Dimmed colored lights, modern interior design and chill-out music set the mood for the good dinner. Service was very pleasant, servers very attentive and well organized. Food was overall ok. We tasted our way trough the menu and some items were surprisingly good (i.e. Sushi) while others were just plain in taste. Items from the “Specials” menu are definitely worth trying. I would stay away from (likely finished convenience) cheesecake and brownies (actually, not much of a brownie but rather a chocolate cake). Fried banana and Raffaello are definitely a better dessert option.

I went here with a friend on holiday for the first time. It was crowded when I got there (you need to go online and book a table for two) Our table was pretty small, so was each portion. But it's a buffet and the menu is plentiful, we can order 10 dishes for 10 times, sounds limited? I and my friend actually couldn't stuff anymore food at round 5, seriously 😂😂 or maybe our stomach are too small for that... the way they set the food was nothing special, but the quality was good, or too good for the price 😆😆 I also love the toilet there, it's elegant somehow... 😍😍 Men... I will come back there for another fancy dinner one day soon......

We've been there multiple times, but the last time was the last time. Food doesn't taste better than cheap ordered food, it didnt look better either. A few items where forgot or not available and no one told us. Meat was either dry or stale. Overall most items looked and tasted old. Dark spots on fried avocado. Grey tuna. 100€ for leftovers felt like a scam.

Nice place, good prices but, on my personal opinion, the sushi wasn’t that amazing. Good place to go with a lot of people. Staff was super friendly and attentive.

Very friendly staff, don't listen to haters, I was served by at least 6 waiters and the barkeeper even can make proper daiquiri. Nice atmosphere, very wide selection, much better process than running sushi, good quality and good value. 100% recommendation.

We couldn't find a parking spot so you better directly park in the nearest parking lot , it's an all you can eat 5 items every 5 min so if you are a fast eater don't bother your self, food wasn't really that good and the pieces were smaller than average, so we had to order from the full pay menu and we were also not happy. Staff was nice friendly and supportive but slow service , we had to ask 3 times for our drinks . The place looks nice and neat but music doesn't go with the concept. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Out of all the All-You-Can-Eat sushi places in Essen, this is by far the worst. The fish had weird texture and no taste, the noori in rolls were dry and some of the dishes were downright inedible. We struggled to find something tasty on the menu and can only share that the mushrooms were OK and the cocktail was fine. The service was also weird, sometimes we had a feeling that the waiters are brand new and are not sure what is supposed to be happening. This has been my first visit to Okinii in 4 years, and it will definitely be my last.

All you can eat sushi with a good quality. My girlfriend liked it here and I can recommend. Better reserve a spot on the weekend. Expensive

I loved dining here! The service was super quick and attentive, food was super tasty. Ordering with my phone didn't work for me, but staff provided a tablet instead, which worked flawlessly.

I was pretty surprised to find there an All You Can Eat with such great taste. I wasn't expecting anything because I came from France and we don't have such like this in France. Also, the price is very fair for that kind of quality.

We went here yesterday. The employees are very kind and friendly. The sushi was good, and the meat dishes were also tasty. The only thing was, that we asked for using the ipad for choosing the dishes but we had to pay 20 euro's for that. For us, that was a little bit odd because we are used to use an ipad with an all-in sushi concept. Instead of using the ipad, we used our own phone. But we had to go back with the train to holland and our batteries were low. Using an powerbank of the restaurant was also only possible with a payment. We never saw this before. There were a lot of people in the restaurant with an ipad, i can't imagine that they all paid 20 euro's extra for that... Anyways, the food was nice and the employees were very kind.

I have the all-you-can-eat lunch menu, it's fresh and amazing and fulfilling, I am not the type to waste food so all is fine by me. Order using smartphone, scanning QR code, one person click order per table, so prior communication with friends is required too, unlimited dessert of ice cream is a nice touch too

What a cute place! They give your table a tablet and for a fixed price (depending on the time of day) you can order 8 items per person every 10 minutes for 2 hours, so you can pace yourself and prevent food wastage (which they charge for). You also pay more for additional food items or drinks. You order and get the bill all from the tablet which saves having to get someone's attention as they walk past. Food was all nice with a good amount of variety - only dropped a star because the noodles weren't amazing and often the food arrived at random (often long - up to 25 mins) times rather than together, which is a pain if only one of you has stuff to eat and has to wait for the other.

We were a group of 65 people, they reserved an area for us and gave us amazing food with high quality products and great service, we will be back!
