Brought my kids in for a class. Owner was very cocky and aburpt. Found out after research that he had little experience competing and was just using friends to boost reputation.

The large Rebel Thai Boxing is a great spot in Long Island for authentic Muay Thai. The classes get busy in the evening and is a decent mix of men and women. There is always a good ratio of teacher to student. All of the instructors are fight trained and ring experienced. More than a handful have been to Thailand to get real deal training. There is a strong link between Rebel and the technical Sitjaopho gym in Hua Hin. The owner of the gym, Eddie Cuello, is a New York native and you can tell from his approachable but straight forward manner. He trained for a long time out of Sitan Gym with Aziz Nabih, who has a strong kickboxing background. Cuello has also been out to Sitjaopho multiple times. He really emphasizes technique which can be seen in the style of his trainers, like Rod Williams. Cuello also hosts Muay Thai shows at Madison Square Garden. The gym has a lot of gear at hand which is awesome. They are connected with the international and very fashionable gear company Infightstyle. The only downside of the gym is that it doesn't have showers. On the plus side there is a Chipotle across the street.

The gym is great but I dont understand why there is a male working at a women's gym? I come here specifically because it is a women's gym and I'm sure many other women (of certain religions especially) come here for this sole reason, and it's weird that there is a guy walking around while we work out . The least he can do is stay in the front or something. If this was the case I would've just joined a gym closer to my own home and paid less and travel less.

Membership increased to $39.00 (NO WARNING) i had to cancel my membership and FOR THAT reason they charged me another $10.00 fee on top of that I was FORCED to stay another 45 days and PAY for it. "NEW members BE AWARE they will increase and debit money from your account without your AUTHORIZATION" god forbid u try to get out.... get ready to pay for that !!!!!!!!

Sitan Gym Long Island is the best place for Traditional Muay Thai. Anyone who is serious about getting in the ring and fighting should be training here. If you just want a workout, this is the place for you as well. The classes are great, the people are fantastic and there is no other place to go. The schedule has plenty of classes to choose from and you will take your training to the next level here. Try it out.

If you're a serious Muay Thai fan or looking to learn more about the, "art of 8 limbs," and seeking authentic traditional training look no further than Rebel Thaiboxing! You will receive top notch training from a deep perspective into the art as many if not all these trainers go to Thailand often. You know a gym loves what they do when there are classes available all the time with no obligatory silly contracts. Everything is amazing here; boxing coach/class, Muay Thai coaches, students, strength and conditioning, and all the Muay Thai classes ( clinch, pad work, sparring, etc.) I joined here in March with my son and it has honestly been one of the most life-changing moments of our lives. Kids classes are amazing as well! You will not be disappointed! I rarely write reviews unless I feel compelled to do so. I want to provide positive change for whoever reads this! Thanks and best wishes.

Great people, great coaches, great training. Legit Muay Thai training with experienced coaches on LI. I've been going 3x a week for almost two months, and the workouts have been spectacular. Definitely not your standard boring monotonous "pick things up and put them down" workout, the coaches change it up regularly and provide a great mix of intense workouts and expert technique instruction. I've never field singled out or embarrassed by my skill level - no egos, just training and positive attitudes. I recommend (and will continue to recommend) this gym to anyone and everyone who asks (and probably to those who don't ask as well!).

The training is well structured and very challenging. Coach Eddie and the other coaches are amazing. Everyone's really friendly and highly motivated. Good range of members with various skill levels to train with. I highly recommend training here!

Started about 3 months ago and I love every minute of it. I never thought I'd see myself doing this. At first, I was very hesitant about it, until I had my first ever class. I went in the ring with Dave where he showed me the true basics. I told him I had zero experience, where he told me it was no big deal and that we would go slow. From than, I quickly signed up. Mike made it easy and I was a member within just a few minutes. I signed up for private sessions with Eddie and my form and technique has gotten so much better. Shout out to Eddie, Mike, Dave, Sean, Quinn, Jess & Jorge. They are great! Everyone makes you feel welcomed in this gym, regardless of your ability.

I love this location for parking reasons. However, under Lucille Roberts ownership the fees were reasonable and the flexibility of using other gyms didn't require additional fees with the exception of the forest hills gym (parking is scarce there anyway). Regardless if I was in Astoria queens or lower Manhattan, I was able to get a workout without the stress of paying more. Under the new ownership of sports club the fees are higher and additional fees are required to use other gyms. You do have to pay attention to your bank statements as at the year mark if you have a discounted fee (teachers and others get a discount) your fee automatically goes back to the 39.99 basic fee. The management has always been cordial and assisted me with billing issues. (I've read some comments, management isn't responsible for what corporate does.) Three things I'd like to change. This gym has always had issues with the zumba room's music system where it's not functioning properly and the speakers should hang from the ceiling as the volume at floor level irritates our ears. Some of the equipment have ripped or missing padding and after bringing this issue to management nothing has been replaced (again corporate issue). Last, we the members would like cycling to be added (another reason why the no additional fee to use the gyms that have cycling was great), we were told there's no space for it. But the new owners should be able to figure it out based on the fact that our fees are way higher, the option to travel is limited to additional fees, and the amenities have NOT increased.

I stared Rebel Thai to get in shape. This is one of the most fun (and intense) workout environments. I’m getting in better shape and learning an important skill.... one I’d rather not have to use, but one that’s so important to know! Great coaches, I highly recommend!

My son has been going to Rebel for a year. The transformation in his confidence and overall health has been incredible. The coaches are amazing- it’s very clear that they‘re passionate about what they do and they genuinely care about each of the kids. The gym has a family feel- egos are checked at the door. It takes a village to raise a family and we are very lucky that the Rebel team is part of our village. My only regret is not signing my son up sooner.

The best Muay Thai gym on Long Island! These guys know their stuff! No gimmicks, no pressure to sign up and very beginner friendly! Cant say anything bad about them! They're open 7 days a week and have classes for all ages and skill levels! They have a badass fight team as well!

Having never taken any martial arts courses in my life before let alone Muay Thai, I decided to take up their summer 3 month special pricing which included all the necessary equipment. First off, THE PLACE IS CLEAN! it is incredible the amount of work the people of this gym put into it. Everything and everyone was very professional to the point where it felt as if I should've paid more than what they were asking for the services I received. Their adult Muay Thai program is absolutely top notch and overall very professional. Eddie was extremely patient and helped me out each step of the way (I'm not exactly athletic). The gym has a very welcoming atmosphere which I believe is quite rare nowadays. I've since bought a few friends along and they're having quite a blast as well. Take up their summer special while it's still around!!!!

  • 5/5 Aicram S. 6 years ago on Google
Real, legitimate Muay Thai gym with the most friendliest atmosphere. Often times martial arts gyms can be intimidating and cliquey. Not this place! The staff are well educated and professional as well as extremely helpful. I am from out of town and this gym took care of everything I needed to train. The multiple instructors on site also give you their fullest attention and you instantaneously feel like a part of their team. Fellow members are also inviting and encouraging. I've been to numerous gyms across North America and this one is one of the best. Highly recommend if you want to obtain the full aspect of muay thai or if you want to get in shape and set a healthy lifestyle. Regardless, the staff and trainers genuinely care about each member's goals and will help you achieve them.

Sitan Gym is clean, affordable, and conveniently located in central Nassau County. The coaches are friendly and definitely know their stuff. There’s plenty of classes to choose from - whether you’re a beginner or at an advanced level. They have a great kids program for those of you with little ones and the gym is women- friendly as well, so ladies, you need not be intimidated. In addition to traditional Muay Thai classes, they also have Strength and Conditioning classes with Coach Dave three times a week. He really pushes you to work hard and explains the correct way to do an exercise, the right form, and sometimes even gets down to the anatomy level. Coach Eddie is the head coach and co-owner. He is a technique master and takes the time to critique each individual’s form, stance, punch, kick, etc. Coach Jess is my favorite; she’s spunky, very knowledgeable, a great motivator, and lots of fun. There is a great sense of camaraderie among the students and staff alike. Everyone is easy to get along with and very helpful towards each other. The gym recently added Fitness Kickboxing classes, and I’ve been attending those instead as it fits better with my schedule. Since joining the Sitan Gym family in January 2015, I have lost 20 pounds, gained new friends, and a pretty mean left hook. I enjoy an improved sense of self- assurance, I have more energy, I am stronger, I feel healthy, I sleep better, and I love walking out of the gym feeling good about myself.

My girl at the time purchased private lessons for me as a birthday gift. She asked me what school do I want to go to. I remember watching a few amateur fights and there was one gym who's fighters looked way better and more technical than the others...that gym was Sitan (now named Rebel Thai Boxing). After my first lesson with Eddie I knew that was the place for me. I immediately signed up and currently I'm part of the fight team. You don't have to be a fighter to join this gym but you will be trained and pushed like you are one (in a positive and fun way...most of the time lol). My first week everyone from members and staff made me feel like I've been there since the gym first opened. If you are looking for authentic, traditional muay thai there is no other gym to go to except Rebel Thai Boxing.

Rebel Muay Thai Smithtown is the real deal. The facility is well-organized, clean, and comfortable. The coaches are incredible. It is obvious that they are proficient with their craft. They are experienced fighters who love Muay Thai. Most importantly, they are phenomenal teachers; patient, informative, and very motivating. The classes provide a workout that are second to none. I signed up for the 'new member' 3 class trial and immediately after my third class I enrolled in their 3 month summer special (a truly amazing deal!). I've been looking for a quality Muay Thai school, that is reasonably close to home, for a long time and I'm happy to say I found it. Thanks Rebel Muay Thai!! I'm looking forward to my next class!

The staff is amazing, very personable and friendly, they ensure that ALL members are adhering to the Covid  guidelines. The location is well maintained and always clean; that's an A+ in my book. My disappointment, however are as follows: 1st-  The faucets located in the changing rooms have NO running hot water. 2nd-  For a few weeks there has been NO paper towels and due to the Covid virus all of the dryer are disconnected.

I emailed Lucile Roberts many times to freeze my account especially because the gym was not open due to COIVD. They charged me in March (when COVID was at its worst and they were closed). They then opened in September without warning (and I mentioned back in March that I’d like my account frozen) and they charged me again. When I asked for reimbursement back they denied it. I will be reporting to the BBB. Also the gym wasn’t clean prior to COVID so I can’t imagine it’s safe to go there now during COVID.
