This was one of the finest seafood meals I’ve had in Costa Rica. The fresh catch was Red Snapped with shrimp, muscles and calamari. The side we think was a mashed plantain blend and it was amazing. We started with their ceviche. It was wonderful with Mahi Mahi. They also gave us a sample of their seafood based soup which had great spice to it. Our waiter brought us some hot sauce and seemed a little worried about the gringos and hot sauce. He made it himself and once again it was the best. The drinks were great. We each had a mojito. On a side note they sell drinks to go. They even have a special machine to seal covers on the drinks to go at the bar. They filter their tap water so don’t pay for the bottled. The only downfall was they didn’t accept American Express. It’s in a fairly busy area of town. But we found street parking close by. We loved it.

We had a lunch for nine people. The Chef/Owner was fabulous. His waiters were all wonderful people. The meal (Parrot Fish and Red Snapper) was prepared four different ways, with each coming out separately. It was by far the best dinning experience and the greatest tasting food I have ever had..!

Loved this meal. In three months in Costa Rica this was one of our favorites. We tried multiple types of ceviche and had a whole fried fish. If you're looking for a meal in town before or after the airport I would go here

If you’re in Liberia and then you’re looking for a sea food restaurant so I highly recommend this restaurant so the food and drinks and snacks even the service is amazing.. I’ll definitely come by soon. 🤙🤙

The ceviche was good but small, arroz con camarón was decent but the portion was large. Servers not super attentive but food came out fast.

Best restaurant visited in a very long time. The food was authentic, the service excellent and the drinks were to die for! If you visit Costa Rica please visit this restaurant. You will be glad you did!

It's a very ordinary restaurant. The food was a bit pricy for what it was. Seafood bonbons were amazing (7e), then there was something like seafood risotto with very dry rice as is traditional. This was too much for me so I asked the waiter to pack the rest of the meal. He put an empty box on the table and gestured that I do it my self.

The food Was delicious! My wife and I we had a good time, and we were satisfied with everything. Drinks and food are on point.👌🏻

Stopped in after arriving at the Liberia airport and before our drive to La Fortuna. We parked on the street and headed inside to an open air seating area. Food was good, the Peruvian ceviche being our favorite dish. Service was slow but we were unsure if it is just the culture to have to wave the waiter over to request food, drinks, or the check. Service was also not particularly friendly.

So good we went back the next night. Tenderloin was tender and tasty. And cut well with the regular knife before switching to the steak knife. The next dinner was a fillet cooked in garlic and butter topped with shrimp calamari and mussels. Awesome! I ordered ceviche as an appetizer and two people who don’t eat fish tried it and liked it.the owner I was trained in Peru so ask for a pisco sour.

Awesome spot. Great atmosphere and amazing food. We came here as we are wrapping up our Costa Rica bike tour and vacation and this was a great way to finish a good trip. The drinks are tasty and the food is fresh. Highly recommend.

Super tasty peruvian Ceviche Restaurant.

We’ve been there several times with the family and everybody enjoyed the delicious food and welcoming atmosphere. The meat and fish dishes are awesome but they also have delicious vegetarian options. Very nice place, very good food and great prices

Service was slow and impersonal. Food arrived - no cutlery. After asking twice it came. Grilled snapper was so overcooked it was hard to chew and hurt my mouth. Flavour was bland. My wife’s fish was better but unremarkable and generic. We were overcharged for our drinks. No apology. The servers looked like they’d rather be somewhere else.

My first restaurant in Costa Rica. The Ceviche was amazing. The atmosphere i nice. The staffs speak english and they were very friendly. Definitely one of my best aeafood restaurant in Liberia.

Visited here once for lunch after seeing good reviews but food was disappointing. We ordered a Peruvian style ceviche, fried calamari, seafood rice, and shrimp pasta. Both rice and pasta were way too overcooked to the point they had no texture. Fish in the rice was so overcooked that it had the texture of chicken breast. The batter of calamari wouldn't stay on calamari, it fell right off every time we picked up a piece. Out of all dishes we ordered, the rice (Peruvian style arroz con mariscos) was the worst. I couldn't even finish half of it.

The restaurant is pleasant, servers are nice and polite, the plate I ordered was the chalaco fish, it was very tasty! I really liked it! when I arrived the place was crowded, it took a while to get the food but that's understandable. I definitely will recommend this restaurant.

Terra Mar had a nice comfortable decor, a broad and creative selection of menu choices, generous portions, and first rate quality in taste and presentation. I would have rated Terra Mar 5+ stars on all the above. However the wait staff was the weak link in this dining experience, only delivering the minimum levels of service. Still, we will certainly return to Terra Mar on our next visit to Liberia.

Good food, attractive place

The Ceviche is excellent. It was Soo good that me an my wife went back the next day to have lunch again. Prices are very good for the quality of the food. The staff is super friendly and I will probably stop here every single time I am around liberia

Very friendly staff, service was excellent and the food incredibly tasty. The only minor inconvenience is that you have to park your car on the street.
