We had a great time. My wife’s name sake is from the Loreley song. She has wanted to come and visit ever since I met her. A couple things you should know. If you go to the visitor center (very nice souvenir selection) be aware that they are not open all day every day. Currently Wednesday through Sunday 11-4. Check for scheduling. You need to pay for parking (4€) and toilets (1€). You will also have a long trek down and then back up to the statue. 310 (larger than normal) stairs. There is also a free a parking lot at the entrance to the statue right off of highway 42. Fun trip for the whole family.

Beautiful mermaid statue on the Rhine River. Great walk.

We didn't see the statue going towards Koblenz because we thought it was under the rock face. On the way back towards Strasbourg we found out that the statue is at river level about 200 metres before the rock Loreley sat on to lure sailors onto the rocks below. It is very hard to see because it blends into the background.

Legend.... For the river seamen.... Same in Greek mythology with Odyssey and sirens. In a beatiful picturet location.

Worth the walk or ride (bmx).

Actually is just a statue, you could go to the middle of the river and take some good photos with it.

This famous landmark is well worth the visit. A good sized carpal is only a short walk away.

We had difficulties to find the statue. Nice to do a small walk close to the water.
