......I won’t recommend this place to anyone, sorry to say that but you can be sure, that you are not welcomed there! Bouncers are very rude! You feel unwanted there for the very first..The rudest staff you will ever meet. The bouncers especially are very unaccommodating. They are very clearly on a power trip & treat everyone like they are less than them. I've never met staff so rude. It's a shame because the venue has great potential but the staff would turn anyone off going.......s

Would give it less than one star if I could, security is an absolute joke, walked up to them sober as I don't drink and they told me I had too much to drink, and when I questioned it they began to get abusive towards me and my friends, calling one of my friends a little f*ggot, I've never in my life met security that try to start fights instead of breaking them up. Would recommend you stay away from here if you don't want your night ruined

Got Refused entry for no reason. They said I had too much drink when I was completely sober. I called the manager but they never accepted my request. Bouncers with attitude. Do not recommend this place at all!

KIP.... Hard to see how they make money when everyone is turned away at the door by rent a cop security. If I was ever to head to Limerick I'd be saying stay well Away from Icon and head to the likes of Nancy's or Mike Flannerys or the House for a night club... some craic. It's a shame when a places like the 'Icon' try to ruin a otherwise lovely night out.

Bouncers are outrageous, don't walk up to them in groups of 3 or more or they'll turn you away without even thinking, I've walked up sober many times only to be turned away. Drinks are way too expensive for a night club where mostly students go. Staff are so slow the usual waiting time at the bar on a busy night is easily 20-30 minutes for a drink. I wouldn't recommend going in on a really busy night they let it over crowd and it's impossible to move around. Lastly don't hand in your jacket or coat into the coatroom, they "Miss placed" my €100 jacket and had the ticket and everything, came back in the next day and they couldn't find it, told me to send an email. Which I did and got zero response. They clearly don't take any responsibility for missing jackets or try give any compensation. This isn't just based on one bad experience these are pretty consistent throughout my times going here and I have gone a good few times.

Nice enough inside but it don't make up for that disgraceful excuse for bouncers they only let in their favorites even if you don't drink they still refuse to let you in if you don't want your night ruined please avoid this place there are much better places I assure you

Its nice place to go out bit expensive but its good atmosphere except the security i think that place need to work more on security as they were asking unfair questions.

I have never witnessed such disgusting behaviour from doormen in my entire life, They refused entry into the bar to myself and my Pakistani partner. We are both professionals, were stone cold sober and well dressed. When challenged for a reason they refused to give one and became aggressive and abusive. They then turned away 4 polite and well dressed indian guys just after us. So I can only assume that this place operates a policy of racism and discrimination as this appears to be a common complaint from other reviews. The whole experience was completely disgusting.

Refuse to go to this place. The bouncers are often rude and refuse genuine people entry to main bar that has live music because they want to make them pay €12 for the club around the side instead. There is much better bars in Limerick city, try House or 101!

Visiting Limerick for 1 night and decided to pop in for an after dinner drink. Gorilla at the door refuses us entry with no explanation. Please don’t advertise yourself as a gay bar if you’re so non-inclusive.

Lovely place at the heart of limerick, so much fun for a Monday night. Caroline and Jhenifer are a great addition to the staff, super friendly and helpful, great atmosphere.

Fairly average club as far as I can tell. Music isn’t bad but not great either. Drinks seemed to be around €5.

Music would blow the ears off you. Extremely loud, too hot and bar staff not attentive at all. Bar is too open just feels like a big corridor... no environment. Staff see you standing at the bar for ages and serve others who just walked up beside you. €15 for the nightclub a total ripoff.

Door staff is a joke, 2 of my friends who where driving and sober were refused.

Got refused entry for no reason by a fat and lower forehead bouncer. He said I was too drunk when I was completely sober. 2 different times on 2 different days. I recommand not to even try. The etablishlent is not worth it

I must say yere bouncers are as rude now as they were 20 years ago. Obviously didnt have the looks that suited the bar. Could go in anywhere else in limerick no hassle but same thing all the time when it comes to symths, i wouldnt waste my time or energy going near the place again

Got in last night me my girlfriend and my mate we had two rounds and I went up get a 3rd but the girl behind bar in a green top says we had too much to drink my girlfriend was so excited about finally getting in and was mad to go night club, when I came back to tell her that they want us to leave at first they thought u was messing with them, I could see how heartbroken she was see we are young parents we work too hard to keep house going etc, all she wanted was a dance and laugh but she couldn’t the girl completely ruin her night we went around to the black rabbit and they were lovely, in there drinking until 12 came home, but still very stinky attitude all because they can pick and choose who they want in they saw us having a laugh and green top Karen must have thought in her head, let me just ruin there night. We got up handed our glasses back and said thank you for the drinks because that’s how people act no matter how bad others are. I have to say the one night we get out and you ruined a hard working man and women’s night I say she felt so proud about it too. Don’t bother with with this place.

Why would anyone try to get in there when I'm 28 years on age and get refused as "not tonight" an hour after being in town.... it was bad before covid its even worse now

It's not what it used to be before covid, it doesn't matter if you are stone cold sober or had a few drinks before, the bouncers won't let people in for no good reason other than they are "execersing their rights to refuse entry". The fat bald one seems to do it purely as a power trip like a pathetic little boy x

Bouncers are very rude, got denied entry for no reason, was sober, they let my best friend and partner in but refused me. Even with Id shown. Wouldn’t recommend people to go here. big reason bouncers. If the bouncers got fired I’m sure Icon would attract a lot more people. Disgrace and embarrassing really.

Went on a Wednesday and was delighted at the €3.50 cocktails! The price only applied to certain ones, but they were the classics like the Long Island etc etc. Just be sure to check the list on the posters before you order! I have to say even the ones not part of the deal were average cocktail prices anyway so it wasn't too much trouble. Oh and when the nightclub part opened the deal was there too which was nice! Not all the options were available, which is I guess expected for a nightclub but most of the €3.50 ones where available! The place is massive, bathrooms clean and quite cute (the ladies anyway!), bar staff were very nice- when it wasn't too busy one of the bar staff took a few pictures for me and my friends which was a nice touch! Loads of drink deals, two for ten that sort of thing! There weren't many posters advertising that though, but the bartender rattled off a few for us. Have to say when the bar was super busy it took a while to get drinks but I think that was down to there only being two staff for a whole rake of people. Yeah, overall a nice night!

Staff are very friendly and helpful, also food is very tasty and filling, reasonably priced. Great atmosphere and all made feel welcome by bar staff, waitresses and bouncers. Would recommend this for people to try, you will not be disappointed, I will be back here again

Last night I visited this place with my friends. The club is nice and sparkles, even the DJ was pretty good. but even though it was a pretty quiet night, a group of guys had stupid comments to our friend and one of them tried to put something in friends' drink. When we told it to security and manager, they did nothing. So we left this club.

Not too bad but not able to take my 18 year old sons in for a drink after 7pm. Also not able to buy larger bottles of coke after 6pm. Customer service could be better. Good venue for music though.

Finally reopened, sep 2022 walk in no problem. Cash only for entry. Turned away three of us cause we all had card only. No problem, will never return.

Security guard not displaying a PSA licence on the door also refused me entry but was going to let my girlfriend who’s 6 days younger than me in? Also made a comment about what I was wearing and laughed at me. Disgraceful and the guard need to learn some manners.

It is great to have this bar and nightclub open again. My friends and I attended there at the weekend, place looks amazing now that it is done up, the music was great both in Smyths and in the club, bouncers, management, bar and floor staff are really nice and helpful, and it’s definitely worth visiting this bar if you are in Limerick.

Since reopening it's horrible. Terrible security guards on front complete different experience from years ago. It's a joke.

By far the best spot in the city, good drinks, excellent bands and the djs are top notch.. just opened back up refurbished too 👍

We had our staff party here , great place great music in smyths and icon , Shaun the manager was great from when we went in until when we left the club. We got free passes for the club for our party , lost jackets at the end and the staff couldn't have been more helpful to get them back.

Horrible bouncers on the door who get enjoyment out of being mean for no specific reason.Will not be returning.

visited smyths saturday night with a few friends and had a blast. reasonable prices, great atmosphere and music was great. will definitely be returning.

This is the 3rd time that the bouncers at the entrance 1 are exercising the right to refusal on no grounds.The assumption I am making is a perception that we are tourists , which is absurd as I have been living in Ireland since last 10 years .It leaves a bad taste and neither me nor anyone I know would ever visit icon again. I would highly recommend the others too to avoid going to this place . There are better places in Limerick to visit - Hunters , The Old Quarter , Nancy's , the list is endless

Me and my friend left our coat down in a discrete place for a few minutes and when we went back to get them they were gone. We proceeded to approach staff and ask them about our coats and he informed us that they had been placed in the cloak room. We went to the cloak room and even offered to pay for them but the person working there just said no. Extremely annoying as we were leaving limerick the following morning and lost and found queries weren’t addressed until 6 pm.

Rated 1 star couldnt rate 0 . There are 2 resons . 1 . The young guy at the entrance has an alcohol meter in hes eyes saying that people are drunk without any proof . 2 . He is also racist looking at a bald blonde guy like I am some kind of russian scum . If you atract business this way I feel sorry for you, next time the owner should check his security, the other older guys with more experience were cool , the kid should just go home and chill bc he is past bed time . Thank you very much, never going back to this place unless you properly check your entrance . Merry Christmas .:)
