The food was so bad. They staffed different meet into the Lobster when I said what is this? The answer from the half owner was so stupid. I love Lobster but last night it was so bad , I never eat lobster in that place again. Please if you wanted to eat lobster in this place think again.

Haven't been back in over a year. The price has gone up on some menu items, but the seafood tasted fresh, so can't complain too much. The twin lobster has a MP so that'll go up and down with supply and demand. There has been some changes such as free refill on a soda purchase which is great. Look for the specials of the day and you'll get a satisfying meal.

6 meals, all were cold, and raw in the middle. The fried calamari was cold, not crispy, not brown. $10 deposit for plastic lobster cracker-it broke. What a disappointment. Came here years ago. It was always good.

I've been coming here for 35 years and Southside has always been consistently good. I now live out of the country and whenever I return home to Long Island, I make a point of coming here for lobster and littlenecks. The staff are always friendly and the informal atmosphere is very relaxing.

If you want a basket of fried fish, you'll do well here but if you want a facny experience, this place is not for you. Portions are a good size. The people behind the counter always seem rushed (and it's usually not their fault). Other customers are not nice especially after a beer or three. The fish decore is perfection.

Went here for dinner tonight. The owners brother was very nasty. My special needs son touched the light switch and he yelled at him. I said I am right here and told him not to do that. Then I went onto explain that my son has Autism and he is impulsive. He whispered something to the young cashiers and started laughing. Heartbreaking to say the least. We waited about 40 minutes for our food. No lemons, our cheeseburgers had no cheese and when I asked they said they ran out of cheese. The never gave us nut crackers for our lobster and when I asked for them, they asked for 10.00 to rent them .

Highly recommend. Not from the area and stopped in on a hunch. The Best clam steamers I have had anywhere! bar none. Scallops absolutely 10/10. Karen and staff were extremely hospitable and nice people. This is the type of classic, well run institution we need more of!

Food is decent. Tables are sticky. Lights were flashing. No soap in ladies room. Oh, and cockroaches on the bar. Not clean at all.

Title: A Seafood Lover's Paradise on Southside Fish and Clam! Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) I recently had the pleasure of dining at Southside, and I must say, it was a seafood extravaganza that left my taste buds dancing! This market and restaurant combo is a true gem for seafood enthusiasts, and I had the chance to savor some of their finest offerings. 1. Snow Crab Legs: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) The snow crab legs at Southside were nothing short of spectacular. They were perfectly cooked, incredibly tender, and seasoned just right. Each bite was a burst of sweet and briny flavor, making these crab legs an absolute must-try. 2. Lobster Roll: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) The lobster roll here was a work of art. The buttery, toasted roll was generously filled with succulent lobster meat, lightly dressed with a delicate sauce that allowed the lobster's natural sweetness to shine through. It was a heavenly indulgence. 3. Crispy Fries: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) Southside knows how to do fries justice. Their crispy fries were the perfect sidekick to the seafood delights. Golden, crispy on the outside, and tender on the inside, these fries were the ideal complement to the seafood dishes. 4. Fresh Clams: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) The fresh clams at Southside were a delightful surprise. Served steamed and seasoned to perfection, they were tender and flavorful. The natural brininess of the clams was balanced beautifully, making them a fantastic appetizer or side dish. 5. Oysters: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) The oysters were a true highlight of the meal. Served on a bed of ice, they were incredibly fresh and tasted like they were just plucked from the sea. They were briny, with a clean finish that left me craving for more. In addition to the outstanding food, Southside Fish and Clam's atmosphere was cozy, and the service was attentive. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu and happy to provide recommendations. If you're a seafood lover, Southside is a must-visit destination. With their top-notch snow crab legs, lobster rolls, crispy fries, fresh clams, and oysters, you're in for a seafood feast that's bound to leave a lasting impression. I can't wait to return for another unforgettable dining experience!

I remember this restaurant from 26 years ago. I've been going there since then. I'm shocked that it's so poorly run now. Our steamer clams were pathetic and the service was terrible. Just phoning it in. Jordans in Long Beach was much better

The food is incredible. The best seafood around. The oysters were huge and absolutely delicious. The crab cake sandwich and lobster roll were excellent. Highly recommend. The owner was so friendly and helpful. Very hands on.

I wanted to try something other than the yummy twin lobsters 🦞 I usually buy. I ordered the ciopinno. I wasn't crazy about the broth flavor. They are very generous with the seafood though. I am going back to my usual order of twin lobsters 🦞 when I go back. The girls at the counter are very professional and friendly.

The service was good, the ambiance, a bit dreary - It’s dark and has a cafeteria setting. There are bar high tables seating, a bar area, fish market, and plenty of sitting room. There’s music playing in the background. I had a cold lobster roll today but wish I hadn’t. I will not base past dining experiences off of this one lobster roll, but I’m not a fan of this type of lobster roll at all. It’s served cold style in a mayonnaise cold cream consistency with shreds of celery. The meat taste raw but I’m told it’s steamed. The bun should be grilled more. It’s just not tasty. I’ve have had other dishes here like the twin lobster dinner where they either steam, stuff or broil the lobster. That’s normally really good.

Throw back in time. Large fresh fish market/restaurant. Placed order at counter, sat and waited for number to be called. Beverage orders at different counter, separate ring up!? Bartender also shucked fresh oysters... Strange set up but seemed to work. The Captain's platter was very good, with the exception of shrimp which were hammered and everything needed a little more seasoning. The Scallops were sweet and tender, baked clams and cod were delish. The whole lobster from Nova Scotia was also sweet and tender. Had to bring claws back to be cracked. I was a little put off by the refrigeration as beverages were not cold and the gelato looked like it was melting... Although the fish was excellent I wondered if refrigeration was ok in the back. Mgmt was very patient with us as we lost track of time catching up with relatives from out of town and didn't realize they were trying to close. Overall good experience and would go back/ recommend to others.

Stuffed sole and baked clams were good. Lobster ravioli served cold. Manhattan clam chowder over seasoned/salty. Kitchen staff confused had to go back twice for food they forgot.

Absolutely great place!! I have never had a bad meal here. Staff is unbelievably friendly and helpful. It can get very busy here but worth the wait. This is cafeteria style.. no waitstaff you order at counter and wait for your order to be called from your table. Very nice menu with lots of variety. I cant stress this enough... THE SEAFOOD HERE IS OCEAN FRESH!!! And holy cow do they cook up miracles with it. They have fresh seafood counter if you want to take home and cook.... they also offer takeout on the menu!! Get The Soup!!! Good god you wont be dissapointed. Raw clams and Oysters are available and the shuck them right in front of you.... chilled fresh and delicious!! It is easy to see that they pride themselves on good food, good atmosphere and good service. Give them a try if you like seafood... i guarantee you'll go back!! My compliments on a well run restaurant!! A rare commodity these days!!!

We ordered takeout from Southside on Saturday night. We had to wait an extra 25 minutes for the food to come out. When we got home we realized that there were four items missing that we paid for. I called but the girl on the phone didn’t seem concerned about it. This will be the last time we takeout dinner from Southside.

The fish and chips were so delicious. The fish was so crispy. I just loved the taste sauce also with the fish. The fries were extra crispy also. This is a very good choice if you're looking for a great seafood dinner in an old time feel restaurant.

Great seafood. I got the coconut shrimp and the scallops entrees. They scallops were perfectly cooked. The shrimp were large and flavorful but could have been more tender. We also had calamari appetizer, that was good too. Average price e for a seafood place. They also have reasonably priced daily specials.

Bought food last night ordered ahead of time still waited an hour. The counter girl was pleasant but they forgot part of my order and the grated cheese had green mold maybe it sat to long? Gross & Kinda made me sick. In the past never had issues. Couldn't finish.

If you live on the south shore and haven’t been to southside then you must be living under a rock. Fresh fish and mollusks from the market or order a plate of fried oysters and a catfish sandwich and clams on the half shell and a side of potatoes and a lobster and a nice cold draught beer. You will leave happy. Better than anything you could ever get at a grocery store.

The fish, crab cakes and oysters were fresh and full of great taste. The ladies at the front counter were friendly and worked at a pace that helped move the line along in an acceptable manner. The workers selling the fish, chucking the oysters at the bar and the bus boy all were gentleman.
