Review of food only - great pub serving traditional style food of really high quality. Fantastic specials board when we visited with lots of local meat and seafood options. Pub classics on the main menu too. Scallops and local venison both excellent when we visited. Too marks for service too, very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. So good we booked to go back straight away. Will definitely leave space for desert next time, as there was a great list of specials. Extremely dog friendly too!

Popped in for a glass of wine, such a lovely pub, so came back for dinner. Lovely ambiance , fantastic food(scallops and black pudding were stunning) , brenda and the team obviously are proud of this place. Will be back tomorrow for lunch. A real find

I stayed here for 1 night. The hotel is 50 metres from a stunning beach so had a lovely walk before coming back for dinner and drinks. Owner Caroline was an amazing host and I had a stunning, all Scottish, Dinner of venison steak, clootie dumping and washed down with a delicious local craft beer. Caroline was the perfect host despite being rushed off her feet. Busy, little, gem of a hotel.

Just had a drink as the tables were all booked for dinner. The staff were friendly, it's not a huge hotel so if you want a meal it would be better to book. The meals we saw looked good and the specials board had quite a lot on it.

Had the most fabulous meal at The Royal Oak last night. Staff were wonderfully welcoming and helpful. Place was spotless. I would definitely recommend a meal here.

Lovely family meal out to celebrate the end of our holiday. Staff friendly and accommodating food gorgeous... be warned the portions are generous, sadly we had no room for pudding

I had the fresh Haddock, chips and the usual side, best fish I have had for a long time, my friend had the Cullen Skink soup with a sandwich, he said it was delicious.

We haven't stayed in the hotel. We have had lunch and dinner in the restaurant. Because we had a dog we had to use one of two lounges where dogs are welcome...and they are welcome..even have their own menu! For humans...a warm welcome from very friendly staff. Service is prompt menu is good but not wide ranging. Food is excellent. Parking is free onsite but limited. Wheelchair access may be a problem but we didn't visit the main restaurant and they do have a beer garden and other outside seating. Highly recommended.
