I’ve been visiting for years, but went the other day with family for the first time since Covid. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because I think it is overpriced. I would go more often if it was more affordable. The mile high swinging bridge is amazing with breathtaking views. I also love the animal habitats. However, if it’s a foggy day or the animals aren’t out - that’s a big price for a ticket in per person (rather than pay by car). The fudge is also a favorite but we didn’t buy any this last time (it was $12 for half a pound, too). If you live in the area or are a student, I highly recommend visiting in April during dollar days. Totally worth it!

Fun attraction. They give you a jp drive or a CD for an audio tour. Get there early as the line of cars adds up. MUST BUY TICKETS PRIOR TO ENTRY. Picnic tables, a museum, a gift shop, hiking trails and the mile high bridge are highlights on this park. Grandfather Trail can be accessed at the top of the park near the bridge. Plenty of parking officers around to answer any questions.

This is one of those places I like to visit any time I am nearby. There are several great places to picnic, take selfies, or climb rocks. The zoo is always great-- I could watch the otters play all day. The top of the mountain is other-worldly. I have been there in a warm summer day when the top of the mountain is cold and extremely windy. It is a great experience, and walking across the bridge is always an experience.

Great experience of the mountain views. Was a little late to try fudge shop and part of the museum was closed but it was still nice. I reccomend bringing extra layers in case it's cold or windy out there.

My family had a wonderful time! The most spectacular views of the Blue Ridge Mountains await the brave. They have a fudge shop and there is a museum. Nice gift shop too! But the Mile High Swinging bridge is the star attraction and it is an exhilarating experience to cross!! The large animal enclosures were great and I we saw cougar just hanging out! Black bear and otter having a good time. Check my pics to see if you can find the cougar!!!

We rode to the top on our Harley-Davidson CVO Electra Glide Ultra Limited and crossed the mile high swinging bridge and it was absolutely beautiful! Ride safe!

This is not part of the state park. NC Park's official actually has mentioned this on their website. We were fooled by Google Maps that took us to their gate and made us pay $24/person, which is awfully expensive for what it is. The bridge was not even enjoyable as it was overcrowded like a 1000 ants crawling up each minute. State park entrance is located at 4198 N C Hwy #105, Banner Elk, NC 28604. If you hike from there, you can make all the way to this damn bridge if you'd like without paying damn admission.

Pricey however the CD to listen to that guides you to the top was great. Tons of info so you don't miss anything. Really enjoyed my time here

Pre purchasing the tickets online made entry easy. I enjoyed the audio tour also while we drove to the top. The mile high bridge is too cool. A bit crowded but we were there between Christmas and New Years, so that was to be expected.

You get to set I a long line just for some one to tell you that you need to purchase your tickets on line and they were all sold out. It's a freaking mountain people. You shut down the mountain because of to many people. WHAT that's some dumb economics. What a joke
