A decades old establishment ran by a very nice lady. The environment is somewhat rustic, with no frills whatsoever, but the manager treats every newcomer as a friend. The portions are ample, the food is delicious and the price moderate. A great central location with every kind of transportation just a stone throw's away.

While venturing out on the streets, looking for a nice local place to eat, I was attracted by the screams of joy coming out of this side street. Had it not been for the loud joyful screaming of the superlady at her patrons, I would have not even noticed this very innocent looking door. Step through the door though, and you get welcomed with a cheer and a laugh by the most friendly lady, who - albeit in Portugese - will make sure no guest leaves this place unfed or unhappy. The dish of the day comes out in a portion that can feed a literal giant. If you manage to finish it all, you could go to a stranded island for a week and you would probably not be hungry for that week. I got a taste of the most rich Portugese dishes, not really suited for the vegetarian or the posh eater, but very suited for those who love a hearty traditional meal. It's not a coincidence that I saw the same people there day in day out- it's a place I would love to have in my neighbourhood as well. Heck, I would even travel to Lisbon for an other meal from this place! Come and give it a go, your stomach, wallet and heart will thank you!

We had the best dining experience in this hidden gem in Lisbon. With another local customer Joan’s help, we had a blast time!!! Once of life time experience. The owner is super warm like some old friend for long long time.

What a lovely place with the friendliest welcome. The host cooks fresh two special items each day, we had the option of spaghetti and meatballs or Tripe and whitebeans. the flavour was incredible, food cooked with love. We didn't speak Portuguese and the lady didn't speak English but we survived!!

We have had a wonderful dining experience at this place. The food was in huge quantity, we did not finished everything as we were stuffed. The service was very fast and the lovely owner is very attentive. The lovely owner still asked us if we want some desserts but we refused as we were about to explode though she let us try that fruity pink wine and the stew with beans. The atmosphere is very local, noisy, friendly, we loved it despite of zero knowledge of the language.

Excellent delicious local food! Very hospitable lady owner! I didn't speak Portuguese, but spoke enough Spanish to communicate with her!
