I am rating 4,5 stars! Very nice hotel in the area of Funchal on top of a hill next to the stadium. Our room was very clean and we enjoyed a nice view from the balcony. In general, the hotel is very modern with a small pool, a nice view from the rooftop and a bar for good drinks during the evening. Breakfast was nice, they offered oat milk. It would have been nice to have more than tomatoes as vegetables in the morning. Please keep in mind that having a sea view from the room means that you hear everything from the terrace. Breakfast is starting at 7.30am and you will hear the people talking… Staff was super friendly & helpful :) The guest house is also good located. Some restaurants are directly around the corner. Into Funchal city you can walk 40min by foot and to lido it’s about 15-20min by foot (here you will find a lot of Bars & Restaurants).

Hotel is nice, great view, great restaurant.. But if you are light sleeper then you will not sleep for the whole stay. Big gap under door means that you will hear every neighbor on the wooden floor. Also isolation between rooms is horrible. I was completely tired after my stay.. too bad because there is east solution for some issues, for example carpets

There are some great things about this hotel. The staff are amazing. Breakfast is simple yet good and the timing for it is excellent. There are plenty of places to sit outside and the view is good. We didn’t use the pool or the restaurant so we can not comment on that. We left some things in the room and they took the time to email us to check how we wanted them returned. The parking on the street is always easy and there are aways free parks. There is a bus stop out the front that can get you into Funchal. If not taking the bus it is a 30 minute walk at least to Funchal. Some things weren’t as great. Our room was quite small and we stayed for a week so I would definitely recommend booking a room with a balcony if staying for a while. You get what you pay for so we can’t complain about the room size too much but there wasn’t room for anything and it felt like the room was in the corner tucked away from anything including natural light. There was a window but it opened on to look at a building. There was no natural air flow and there was no aircon - but a fan was supplied. The bed was quite small also and the mattress had some kind of plastic cover so every time we moved it made a lot of noise. The room also isn’t very sound proof - we were close to the kitchen entry I think so that way noisey and so was the noise from The other guest entering their room. There were also a lot of bus ants, cockroaches but unfortunately the in climate it would be hard to stop these.

Very nice and friendly hotel in Funchal. We really enjoyed our stay and found the staff most helpful. Appreciated the breakfast on the terrasse.

The staff made this hotel!! Everyone is sooo kind and helpful I don’t know where they find this people😍They pay attention to everything you need. It is very clean as well! Good rooms, nice terrace and pool and the city is easy accessible with a bus.

A really nice small hotel/vila guest house in Funchal. All the staff is super friendly and nice, always paying attention to the details, making you feel like being at home. This hotel also offers really great value for your money. Rooms are clean and neat, ocean view from the balcony is amazing. There is also a bar and a restaurant on the property. And the look from the rooftop is amazing. We will surely return.

Very good small hotel in Funchal. We arrived near to midnight and it was no problem with check in. The service was really kind, friendly and helpful. Before we arrived I asked about reservation car and they do it and we didn't need to worry about it. I really appreciate it. Breakfast was tasty and the orange juice was amazing. In the hotel was restaurant and nice pool. Room was clear, the view from balcony was amazing. I really recommend it!

We had a great stay for our vacation here, stayed there twice and in different rooms. Rooms and shared spaces are super clean all the time, great attitude from everyone from the staff, reception, bar and housekeeping. Everyone was always nice and helpful. Breakfast was excellent, but does need some kind of rotation of the foods, available assortment can get boring after 2-3 days. I recommend the rooms WITHOUT ocean view if you care about sleeping in quiet atmosphere, as some of the guests can get pretty loud in the late hours from the ocean view side, curfew is very needed. Nonetheless we’ve enjoyed every hour spent here.

Lovely place. Breakfast is simple but enough, though they serve the same food everyday for the 6days while we are here. We didn’t get the balcony room with sea view but that would be nice.

Great place in Funchal. Close to the city center yet in a quiet location. The terrace is the best for breakfast or dinner. Super friendly and helpful staff. Easy to park a car in front. Would come back next time!

The stars of the place are their people, the service is amazing! Everyone in the staff has the best attitude and are really helpful. The location is not the best, but pretty good and the cost value is worth it. There is a pool, cold, but if it's sunny you can do it. The place has a restaurant and you can have breakfast.

Nice hotel. Polite workers will help you with anything you need. Everything clean and new. One problem is humidity, so towels would not be dry fast🙃 Be sure to take a room with a sea view, you won't regret it! P.S. breakfast starts at 7:30

Very kind staff, they always had a kind word or a smile to the guest when we passed at the reception. The room was comfortable and it was cleaned every day. The location is good, close to the city center and parking is free. The breakfast was tasty and delicious. Good value for money.

Great value for the price. Clean and great view of the city. Do not take a taxi to get there (prices are a legalised robbery), there is a bus stop nearby, number 45.

Very nice, helpful and friendly staff. The bed was comfortable and room was clean. We were also surprised how good was the breakfast which included fresh squizeed orange juice, espresso machine and plant based milk for coffee!! ( big plus ). There is a restaurant with nice waiter where you can order beer/food and hang out. He are having a great memories from this place.

Great value for money! The house is located quite far from the centre but there’s a few buses that will take you there within 10-15mins. Staff at the reception is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast selection is limited but it’s got all you need in order to be happy. Rooms are clean and cosy, we were warned that the ones that face terrace (i.e. with sea view) might get loud as you’ll hear people in the bar but it was really not an issue - perhaps because of the weather there were not many people sitting outside early for breakfast / drinks at night. The only noise comes actually from the street- you might hear bypassing cars/ buses/ motorcycles so be mindful of that.

You arrive as guests but leave as friends. Staff so friendly and helpful nothing is too much trouble. Hotel is fabulous and great breakfast. A bonus is the terrace, swimming pool and bar. Definatly returning in new year having just spent a week here thank you to all the staff excellent service love this place

Totally delighted and got a great experience and welcome! I totally recommend the Villa Camacho, Near Fuchal, Madeira Island for the following reasons: Excellent 5 plus customer service! Reception: Both Mariana, the day time reception person and Rodgrigo, Afternoon and evening reception person are efficient, in explaining about stay, tours, about Funchal. Mariana explained about walking nearby, called the tour company, also. Rodrigo, was very helpful about yellow bus and trip to desert island. Both Mariana and Rodrigo, speak perfect English, and of course, excellent Portuguese, too. Bar: Villa Camacho provided a complimentary bar ticket for one drink. Abrigado! Both the young men in bar, totally helpful in ordering drinks and toast snacks, including vegetarian toast. Location: Villa Camacho is about 12 miles from airport, and taxi driver dropped near the stairs to the reception. About 45 Euro by private taxi. Reception in Villa Camacho are excellent at responding to emails, through booking. Almost everytime within minutes! Villa Camacho is near bus stops. Villa Camacho is near an excellent bakery. Very nice smacks. Villa Camacho is near ocean, near good restaurants, bus stops, stadium, and easily by car to Funchal Mariana. Free WiFi, excellent strength. Totally clean stairs, clean room, clean bathroom, and comfortable bed! Enough pillows. Both Rodrigo and Mariana can help make booking for tours and taxi. Taxi will come in 10 minutes during day time. I could not ask for better place to stay near Funchal with excellent reception and restaurant service! I do not speak much Portuguese and reception staff made me feel at home! Abrigado!

We shared a couple of nights in VIla Camacho and can definitely recommend it; great place, we had the family suite and especially enjoyed the big terrace there. And the best was the staff, so friendly and helpful, we would book Vila Camacho again!

We enjoyed our stay at Vila Camacho very much. (Family with 3 kids). The rooms are basic but clean and spacious enough, the breakfast is good, and the staff is amazing. They even helped me carry our luggage up the stairs to our rooms. The bar has a super cosy terrace and the bar staff is just super nice. Special thanks to Tiago for letting us taste Poncha and Madeira wine and for spoiling our kids with chips :-)

Comfortable accommodation close to the center of Funchal. We used a suite with a private terrace The room has a view of the city and the ocean. Very friendly and helpful staff. Thank you for a nice experience. Breakfasts are delicious. I recommend!

Having a superb time here and in Madeira in general. The Vila is wonderfully convenient yet in a quiet spot with a delectable bakery close by (Momentus). The staff are so helpful and the rooms modern and clean with views of the sea from private balconies. A lovely simple but good (homemade yogurts, orange juice and scrambled eggs) breakfast included. Do come for your short break you'll have a great time.

We stayed at Vila Camacho at the beginning of August. The staff is very welcoming and helpful. Our room was clean and tidy, there is also pool and accessible rooftop. We've got breakfast included also. I would definitely recommend for someone who's looking for good accommodation for fair price.
