👍 Bakery that has been around since 1829, used to serve royalty directly (if I remember my guide correctly). The sweets, such as the God's Bread, were definitely good and worth a try. The egg tarts are also good, but there are other places with better tasting iterations of them. Overall, a good place... People often mention coffee, good,

Good, old fashioned pastry shop with a beautiful upstairs space. Great quality of baked goods and tasty coffee. Service fine for Lisbon standards. This cafe opens earlier than most of close by coffee places so might be handy if you’re an early bird.

I would totally go back. All the food was delicious. We got 2 of the eggs Benedict and a few pastries, coffee & juice. The place feels regal upstairs. Reminds me of my time on the titanic. Very sophisticated pastries overlooking one of Lisbon’s many town squares. 10/10. Pull up and get some. Thanks confeitaria national!

Stopped by for a drink and dessert after dinner, as it seemed like quite a popular spot in the area. The hot chocolate I quite enjoyed, it was very rich and definitely not your basic powder stuff you usually get. Was a bit disappointed that all of our choices of desserts were unavailable at the time though.

one of Lisbon's oldest pastry shops, if not the oldest. Everything is well planned, including the staff, the shop windows, the decor, and of course, the desserts! It's similar to entering a charming jewellery store. excellence at a reasonable cost. An obligatory stop when visiting Lisbon

Waiting time at this place is ridiculous, even when there are several tables empty and they have plenty of staff to cover. We waited over 27 minutes to get our coffee and warm snack after finally being able to order. In the process we saw several people sit only to depart due to how long they waited without being served even after being told by the waiter that he would be right with them. Very dirty place with napkins flying everywhere and no one picking up. Pigeons jumping on tables and no one to wipe them before guests sit down. The coffee and the snacks were good, this place is know for that but do not come here if you’re on a tight schedule or have something to do, or someone to meet around the same time. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Service available in Portuguese and English. Payment accepted with cash or card.

Very nice location with many original pieces. The service is fluent and professional. I tried one flat apple pie, good but quite anonymous. I would have expected something more considering similar cafes in other European cities. I would recommend to go but for a coffee.

One of Lisbon's oldest pastry shops. It has a very old world charm and lovely ambiance. Nice place for a relaxed breakfast. The food was fresh and reasonably priced

This bakery has an upstairs dining area, perfect for a breakfast, and even on weekends, the wait is minimal. It offers a wide selection of pastries and has fast service. I tried the eggs benedict, which was decent and came with an ample portion of bread. While it's worth checking out at least once, I don't see myself returning.

Wonderful food and the coffee is awesome. We first visited as part of a food tour and were blown away by the pastries!

Wunderschöne pastelaria in Lissabon. Keine der üblichen Tourist fallen. Faire Preise und gute Bedienung. Empfehlung für alle die einen Hauch altes Lissabon erleben wollen

Food was good, but our waiter was so kind to us. He went with my wife to the display area so she could tell him what we wanted and place our order. Service was above and beyond, and it was crowded, and his English was perfect, and this is in a touristy area.

This place is well known by many. The atmosphere is special and you will understand once you step in. Upstairs has plenty of tables as well as outside option. We have tried several different desserts and they were all nice - although not the best, I would recommend trying. The prices are affordable.

Love the setting. You feel as if you've transported back into time a bit. Lovely friendly service. The egg tarts are a bit more expensive compared to other confectioneries but still superb. The pastry is just so crispy and flaky, you can hear the crunch when biting into the tart.
