Absolutely gorgeous little wine bar tucked into the streets near Chiado. I was recommended this by a friend as I was travelling solo, and it really was a great spot. I was able to take my pick of the seats, and then a server came to explain the wine menu to me and when I said I hadn't ever tried green wine he came back with two bottles for me to taste, and he did in fact sway me towards ordering one of those. Really delicious and crisp while retaining a sweetness which I enjoyed. I only had the olives as a snack, but they were so ripe and juicy, fell right off the stone. They were very fresh and brought out to me very quickly, so even though I didn't have a meal I'm still giving food 5*s for the snack. It was so affordable when the bill came, and the atmosphere of sitting with all the barrels and bottles was just lovely. Fully recommend people add this to their itinerary.

Excellent wine and port selection in an cool former pharmacy. The owner is super knowledgeable and passionate about wine and port, and will steer you in the right direction if you have questions. The place is at its best when the dining room is full of chatty drinkers, all huddled around tables fashioned out of wine barrels. Great pre-dinner spot, or for a night when you just want dinner and a few light bites.

Great little space in the Bairro Alto neighborhood. They have a fantastic selection of wine a port by the glass or bottle. Food was very good as well and priced reasonably. It gets busy here so make sure to plan ahead to get a table.

We came here for Portwine tasting on our own. This place is where you need to go! Excellent service - we were given great advice, not just for the Portwine. You feel that talk to experts who really love what they do. The homemade cheese which was perfectly chosen to accompany the wines was so delicious. We will be back for sure on our next travel to Lissabon.

We have selected this wine bar based on the reviews and it did not disappoint! We came back twice during our 3 day stay , they have a great selection of top quality wines and the staff is attentive and helps you out with a recommendation if needed. The tapas foods are also delicious and worth to try.

Great place to enjoy port, wine and tapas ! Loved the old pharmacy feel with the glass cabinet doors (filled with Portuguese wines). Our waiter was very friendly and recommend some nice tawny port. Been here twice during our Lisbon stay and probably end there again before we leave.

Amazing little wine bar with a great selection of local wines. We had the best service from George! We were sat in the side room which was perfectly fine, but then he moved us in to the main room, with all of the bottles, once tables cleared out without us even asking. So thoughtful and made for a very enjoyable tasting experience. We did the red wine flight which allowed us to try different varietals from the area. 10/10 recommend!

I went to death. It was a good experience. I wanted to eat a bit, and they propose the good formule ,the products are quality , about the wine we takes to glass of white wine. It was tasty. It wasn’t that spectacular. I had a good experience, but I don’t think that I will be back.

The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable, like a pharmacist, helping pick the best wine and port to to taste. The choices were excellent. The ham, and accoutrements were ok. The persunto was served perfectly correctly cut and at the right temperature, but the quality of the meat was average. It came with olive oil and olives that were mediocre as well. Overall, strongly suggested for drinks and atmosphere, but the food is just serviceable.

What a cool and awesome place. When you enter, you can't miss the design. All built with shelves and glass full of bottles from ground to top. The menu offer different options of wine and port and as well tasting options and combos which is really nice if youre up to try some different drinks. I picked up a combo of porto which was super tasty and allowed me to try brands and tastes i didnt knew before. The service was on spot, we got everything quickly, the waiter explained nicely about the drinks and the differnces bewteen them and was checking up with us all the time. The vibes are cozy accompanied with some good old music. The prices are very decent and really depends on what you drink and how much you drink. For all wine and alcohol lover, go to this place and enjoy some new drinks, great service and awesome vibes

The guy working was so grouchy and mean for no reason other than im a tourist. Really sad that you think it’s ok to be such an unprofessional grumpster. I was really looking forward to this place. Pretty decent wine though.

Nice hole in the wall wine place in Barrio Alto. Located inside what used to be a pharmacy. Sit besides wooden barrels (yes, it's kitsch), order a wine glass or opt for the wine tasting deal. Food also available. Kinda pricey.

Very cute underrated place, had wine and some appetizers before dinner reservation elsewhere. Service was amazing and wine selection was excellent. On a fairly touristy street so easy to miss, but heads and shoulders above the other places trying to usher you in the door.

We stumbled across this bar last night and it was absolutely incredible. Very local vibe, the entire main room of guest all chatting to one another and sharing bottles of wine. We had their signature dish “the cod mix and salad” it was a massive serve for 2 and absolutely delicious. We tried 6 different wines (tastings) and had 3 full glasses. Our host George was fantastic. If I could I would give 6 stars!!!

We were here in September 2019. The Old Pharmacy Wine bar is in the very heart of the Bairro Alto in Lisbon! You can sit and watch the crowd build, the night life begin and have great wine and tapas at very reasonable prices.

After many visits still my favourite place in Lisbon to taste Portuguese wines. Set in a former pharmacy, much of the furniture has been preserved to create an atmosphere that feels genuine and slightly quirky. Ask Jorge for his favourite wines for a three-flight of wines (white, red, or a combination with port, if you desire) and you’ll find yourself coming back the next day to sample the ones you did not get to the day before. Saúde!

The wine list is quite interesting, the whole place has a cool concept. Prices are fair. But the service depends how lucky you are with your waiter. We got a very rude guy that definitely prefer tourists to locals. It took him 20 minutes and several asks to get the bill. Not very friendly or helpful person. Because the card machine was taking a while to process the payment he was sighing and rolling eyes. These type of places shouldn’t have a space in the city when you’re here to serve tourists only and being rude and impolite to people that lives in the city regardless their nationality. Learn how to be humble. Just a quick remark, the Portuguese waiter was really helpful and very polite person. I wish I had him the entire time because it would make our experience way better.

Amazing wine & Porto Tawny journey. Please ask waitress to recommend you a wine. They KNOW very well their offer and will definitely help you with selecting the best one. For Porto Tawny enthusiasts this is one of the best wine bars in Lisbon. Obrigado!!! 😎😎😎

If you want a wine or 10, along with some tasty dishes, then come here !!! We came here twice in two days. Staff are super knowledgeable and really friendly. The decor is also something else with all the old pharmacy cabinets displaying the wine. We were prescribed a bunch of wines that cured our ailments and the mussels were just what the doctor ordered. Our waiter also was wearing a mask (for covid) but it felt right combined their cool pharmacy shirts and the setting. Generally just some good medicine at this place !!!

We had the wine taster menu and 9 cheeseboard - the best wine and cheese I've had. The waiter was helpful and knowledgeable. A great experience to have in Lisbon, would recommend and would love to do again

Went for just port one night and then for dinner another, a barrio alto staple! Loved people watching sitting on the little stools right outside their door. If you want to get dinner and sit outside, def rec making a reservation but late night they’re a fun spot to get a glass of port and just enjoy the the night outside. If you’re looking for the heart of Lisbon’s bar district, this is it.
