We visited this restaurant on 28 July 2022. Unfortunately, my overall rating is 0 stars. Because the staff is such a crucial factor here, I feel compelled to write this review (even after several weeks). An absolutely arrogant and outrageous behaviour of the waiter(s). …………… Friends of ours made a fabulous experience in this restaurant in 2019. For this reason, we invited them to this restaurant as a birthday gift. The reception was rather cold. There was a hint of unwelcomeness in the air. Questions about the menu, ordering or not ordering were commented on or partly questioned several times. Just an example: "You really want 2 bottles of water? Really? Are you sure?" Physical distance was also not respected: My wife had to lean backwards to avoid having her nose in the waiter’s armpit. All communication was accompanied by a constant arrogant undertone and corresponding body language. The tip of the iceberg was, that I heard our waiter joking about me with his colleague, because I only wanted to drink one glass of wine (ed.: I was the driver for that evening). And the whole thing in such a way that I was supposed to notice it. (Yes, that sounds unrealistic. I wouldn't believe it either if I hadn't experienced it myself). Normally I would have left the place immediately. But as it was a gift to our friends (ed.: and our friends including my wife do not understand Portuguese), I didn't want to ruin the evening, so I try to ignore the situation. It was the worst visit in a restaurant I ever experienced. ------------------------ The food was as expected. But could not really be enjoyed. On any speculation about discrimination, prejudice or other bias I will not comment here. Only something like that could rationally explain such a behaviour. For sure, this wasn’t only a “bad day” or a “wannabe” attitude. What remains to be said is, that I cannot and will not recommend this restaurant in any way. Never ever. @Vitor Sobral, for sure, this is not your policy. Very sad....

An outstanding restaurant in the heart of a vibrant neighborhood . The food is meticulously prepared and served. The food has Portuguese roots but can satisfy any food palate. The combination of flavors is sensory satisfying. The combination of ingredients and presentation is quality . The staff is attentive and helpful! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a high quality dining experience!

The seafood tapas were all excellent. The kitchen has great respect for the seafood and all were very well executed in terms of doneness. The menu is broad, with both tapas and mains, so there is plenty to try. Well selected Portuguese wine list too. You may choose to decline the cover charged bread, pate (hummus today) and cheese if you wish, as there is lots to try on the menu.

Favourite restaurant in our last trip to Lisbon. Great selection of small traditional dishes. We ordered sauteed shrimps (Camarao salteado com malagueta e alecrim), Octopus filets and black pork cheeks (Brocheta de porco preto) which they so nicely split for us to share. Their service was incredibly warm. What a joy dinning there. Can't wait to go back.

This was our favorite meal in Lisbon! It’s a cozy vibe inside with incredible service and spectacular food. Our favorites were the cockles with lemon, tuna tare tare and the pork shank. It was so reasonably priced for such a high quality meal. Don’t miss out on this place!!!

Ouuffff!!! A must on your trip to Lisbon! The most creative dishes…sumptuous, visually elegant and enticing.. a gastronomic adventure for the senses! A modern twist on traditional dishes, presented in the most sophisticated & complementary way. Our server was a trusted friend through the entire journey. On point with recommendations..he can read you like a book! cracks open a bottle of suggested wine, with the promise to only deliver the best experience. You will be impressed!!

I went for the 4 course tasting menu and really liked it: the food is good quality product with just the right dose of basic creativity added to it. This works well for me (sometimes it doesn't, when people try to innovate adding weird sauces that dont match, or mixes of food that kill the original flavours). I liked it here. Right the midpoint between a great local place serving basic traditional food, and 1 star michelin doing funky things with it. So is the price too in the middle. I would go back. My only complain was that all the customers were foreigners (but so am I, so I am complaining about myself).

Despite an overall good service, the quality price ratio is very poor when compared to other high end restaurants in Lisbon. Furthermore, both of us suffered from food poisoning for several days and this was the only meal we shared that week. This could be just an unlucky seafood piece, but one would expect a lot more care for such a steep price.

One of my favorite places in Lisbon. The staff is always kind (special thanks to Pedro!), and the food is amazing. Try out the Quindim for dessert!

After a week the best restaurant in Lisbon we’ve been to. Had shrimp salad, scallops, and veal as main course. Nuns our waiter picked great wines. The one place we plan to return. Went back a second time and had the same great waiter. Was even better with goat, shrimp and fried fish with amazing risotto. Wines were great and they let you taste before they pour a glass. Had a local brandy to end the evening. Highly recommend.

I love this little corner of CDO. Unassuming from the outside but sophisticated within, Tasca da Esquina offers updated Portuguese cuisine in a very comfortable and stylish setting. The staff are helpful and engaged, the menu large but comprehensive and basically every dish is a winner. I have spent many long lunches lingering over octopus, fall-apart braised pork, scallops and tuna.

It's not perfect, but pretty close. Would've felt wrong to score any of it under 5 stars. Had the tuna tartar which was top notch. Then had the black pork cheeks which veeu tender and well marinated. Service was excellent - great suggestions on the food and wine pairings from the staff. Happy to return. Word of warning that this experience doesn't come cheap, but for what you get it seems pretty fair.

This restaurant is a place not to be missed in Lisbon, the food is simply delicious, the practical service is efficient and delicate with very competent service... The Tuna tartare is just amazing like the the Scallops in passion fruit sauce 😋, great smoke ham and many more…a very nice selection of wines…delicious deserts… Great choice, thank you

Wonderful restaurant outside the city centre. Get the famous tram 28 to end stop Campo de Ourique, then a 5minute walk down the road. Must try the cod fritters , so delightful. Wife loved her shrimp curry, I had the cod fillets and coriander rice with cockles, simply belissimo. Not a cheap restaurant but nice and good quality food and service. Glass of rose €6, small plates €15, mains €28, menu price does not include tax (which is a little sneaky)

INCREDIBLE FOOD and incredible service!! Viktor Sobral has a phenomenal team. Like wow! They mad me so happy that I can’t recommend this place enough! The food was flawless. It was cooked with love, passion and perfection! Everything was perfect! Do your self a favour and eat here immediately. Hands down one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten!! They even a own a bakery down the street. Go there too!

The octopus was honestly one of the best I’ve had in Portugal, so tender. Otherwise all very good but probably when compared to more traditional tascas you’re always going to look at the price tag and that can make it hard to compete. Definitely somewhere for a special occasion, date night etc.

Creative dishes in a small and cozy environment. Highly recommend both the tuna bitoque and the shrimp curry.

I went 3 times to this restaurant when I visited Lisboa. The staff was very friendly, professional and charming. The food was great so was the wine pairing :-). I will definitely swing by during my next trip.

Really good quality food and a great fine dining experience . Staffs are very friendly and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend the tasting menus paired with wines and a dessert at the end. Bit pricey but definitely worth it!

The food was amazing. It is a must go in Lisbon. I have a toddler and they've cooked something simple and delicious to him, which made it easier for us to relax and enjoy!

My goodness I love this restaurant. The service is exceptional and friendly. The wine list is fabulous with knowledgeable staff to guide you in the right direction. And the food…my goodness the food. The taste and flavors live up to every perfect picture on their Insta. We’ve been a few times now and cannot wait to be back.

We had our 2nd visit to Tasca da Esquina last night and it was superb...again. From the personal and attentive service, to the quality of the food - just incredible. It is "modern" Portuguese food that is incredibly flavorful and reasonably priced for an upscale restaurant of this quality. We were a party of 4 and we had entrees (appetizers) of: bacalhau a bras, the sautéed squid and the scallops and for main courses we had: Fish rice and the beef with truffle mashed potatoes and asparagus. Everything was AMAZING. With 3 bottles of wine it came to ~€50/person. Sorry, no photos!

The best hospitality in town. The first time I dined here, I arrived 30 minutes before the restaurant opened. No worries! I was ushered in with a smile, seated and given a glass of wine. No wonder I keep going back!

After 2 weeks in Portugal, I can confidently say this was our best meal (and we ate well!) get the calamari (lulas) and the the clams (a bulhão pato). The service was also PHENOMENAL and everyone was incredibly friendly. Will 100% be back. Obrigada!!

Make a reservation! We were lucky enough to snag a table without one, but why chance it. The food, and wine selections are quite amazing. The service though is what makes this place stand apart.

Amazing place make sure you have reservation as very popular with local and visitors. Let the staff pick what you eat and drink. You will not be disappointed or overcharged

The quality of the service and the restaurant atmosphere did not match the food's and neither the fine dining prices. We booked many weeks in advance and were placed right at the entrance, The waiter told us there was no other place we could sit. High table, bar stools, bar/bistro style with all waiters constantly pacing back and forth or loitering next to us, Very uncomfortable bar like atmosphere and staff. Food was ok, the cockles in ginger tasted well, the side salad was well prepared, the bacalao fun, and main course veal filet tasted great, too, perfectly cooked. The main course octopus needed some contrast, the pairing with sweet potato did not do it well. I would rate the food at 4 stars and service and atmosphere at 2 stars.
