Cheap way to stay overnight. Clean beds and laminated floor. Helpful staff. Otherwise, old rooms that need repairment, small bathroom, lazy elevators. When repaired, it would be good place to recommend. Give 4 stars with a minus.

We literally just walked in and by the look of the corridors and the state of the rest of the hotel, we knew we were going to check out the next day despite booking it for 13 days. As soon as we walked in the bedroom, we were absolutely shocked. The bedroom smells terrible, the carpet is all stained, very dirty and dusty. We went immediately downstairs to claim a refund and get out of here after being in the hotel for 5 minutes. Do not stay here. Now we have to wait 2 hours for the manager to come and argue our refund, which we are more than entitled to due to this appalling hotel.

We were looked at suspiciously when we arrived, the room was kindof smelly and there was a loud couple across the hall doing the deed... elevator is rather slow so when you're situated at the top floor, add another 5 minutes to your travel time or you might miss the nearby situated busses and metro.

External facade looks old and dated but my room felt fresh and newly renovated. The room was spacious and well-lit. It was clean although the carpet has stains. The sheets on the double bed was crisp and clean. The pillows were comfortable and I had a relatively good sleep. I stayed on the lower floor and there was traffic noise coming from the street below. The breakfast buffet has a variety of continental selections and local pastries. The pastel de nata was cute, small and good. Service is friendly and the hotel is close to the metro.

Does deserve the 3 star rating. Well served by shops and supermarkets and fast food restaurants. They won't allow you to Iron your clothes, you've to hand them to reception for an internal dry-cleaning service, due to a fire. Staff are fine but stern. Single room is spacious and well lit with good WiFi. Has a metro station around the corner and taxis are cheap. Easy to get to the airport, but an occasional plane flies over, which can be mildly noisy. Some corridors and staircases will have a linen cloth cart blocking most of a corridor, so a potential fire hazard. Area is safe.

Very poor customer service from the VIP hotels team (not the hotel staff). Made booking through AGoda for 161 eur which hotel could not host fully. Hotel and Agoda keeping my money even though for last 40 days I've been going around in circles trying to get a refund. Avoid booking here with Agoda If you really want to stay here, book directly with them on phone or on the viphotels site

First time on a hotel, don't know if it's normal or not, but the WiFi was terrible. The room service was splendid, the cleaning lady helped me with some questions I had about the room. Located near the Campo Pequeno, a few minutes on walk from two metro stations (Entre Campos and Campo Grande). Although I didn't use the bus, there was also a bus station close by the hotel. Cons: the rooms were supposed to be soundproof but I could clearly hear someone having a vomiting crisis from other room.

Affordable while providing excellent rooms and hotel. The service could be improved, but for the price you’ll an excellent stay. Rooms are clean and up to date, some lack usb plugs, so unless you have an European adapter you are in trouble. Service is 24h and very helpful and match expectations according to price.

The staff were not very friendly. They were only as pleasant as much as required. The facility is old and needs to be refurbished. The condition of the room is not nearly as nice as the listing photos implied. See video attached to this review. There wasn't a functioning desk in the room so we asked to use the dining room since it was outside of breakfast hours. They would not allow us to use a table in the dining room even though they only serve breakfast and we asked in the afternoon. We had to use the decrepit sofas in the lobby instead. The elevators are old and unreliable. They also take a long time between floors. It seems the entire hotel needs to be upgraded.

Very old. No fridge at the rooms. Location is okay, but not "on" the tourism center.

This was my second time in Lisbon, but first time in this Hotel, the food was very good, the room was very clean, the hotel is very good located, I want to give special “Thank you” to Iara, from the reception, for assisting me with the trip to Sintra, your smile and kindness made my vacation a remarkable one. Highly recommended.

Good hotel. A bit dated but still feels quite rustic for an older hotel. Service and breakfast buffet were very good.

For three stars hotel, the price and it's location, it's good looking hotel. Yes, some things inside the hotel rooms needs to be renovated and polished but rooms were clean, everything was prepared.

The most friendly staff, great location, spacious room with big bathroom, a hall, and a balcony. The breakfast was great, though the coffee could be better. Would definitely recommend it! I would like to particularly mention the attendant Conflita who was very kind, informative, and helpful when we needed her - thank you !!

Decent location, near Metro, supermarket & restaurants. TV worked fine, wifi dropped out occastionally. Was able to cast phone to TV and watch what I wanted. It was, for the most part, clean, however the floors had not been done properly and the carpet looked like it had not been hoovered recently - that was noticeable. I also would have liked a kettle/tea/coffee making facility in the room. Room service was cash only and you were not allowed to charge to the room for settlement on check-out, which was not ideal. I would stay again.

Busy place in town, but well organised, and very clean. WiFi works well and breakfast buffet is really good. Quality - price I think is very well balanced which makes the hotel a good choice if your are planning to visit Lisbon. Location of it is also very convenient.

Hotel reception is large, clean, curteous and fast. Breakfast for 10Eu is great. My particular rm was a 3.5 star. Very clean and comfortable with good washroom and beds. Would be 4 star if a little bigger or I paid a little more. I also think myfloor hallway could use a paint refresh (maybe the hotel is doing this floor by floor). Good internet spd. I would certainly go back. Many nice restaurants within 100m. Bus transport is 40m away. Taxis out front.

Great little hotel not far from the metro station or mainline station. Not sure if the people below complaining about the rooms being old and tired decor knew the hotel was being refurbished. Had a 4 night stay with my son and the hotel was great the staff were all friendly and spoke several languages. Checking in was a breeze even at 1am after a 3 hour delayed flight into Portugal, breakfast was good. Our room was spotless and clean perfect Aircon and the best blackout curtains I've ever had in a hotel room. Would definitely stay there again.

We booked this place in a pinch because we needed to get a few hours of sleep before our early flight, so I didn’t mind the poor reviews. But we were pleasantly surprised! The furnishings in the lobby are a little dated but everything else was really great. Staff were kind and helpful, room was clean and has recently been renovated. It was half the cost of other places we stayed in Portugal and we remember it just as fondly.

Hotel was very good, lobby and bar area very clean and comfortable, staff excellent could not do enough for us. Very good selection for breakfast. Burno in the bar very pleasant and helpful. We checked in late a night. Bedrooms need updating, first night we stayed we where put in a twin room, which I have to admit was my fault. However we had a chat with reception and the next morning they moved us to a double, which was a good size. All in all we had a great stay. Thank you all.

Small room with twin bed instead of double but very clean and friendly staff! The check in was fast and the location of the hotel is perfect for visiting the city, just a few minutes walk from the yellow metro station! Didn’t try the breakfast

DO NOT STAY HERE. This is probably one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a hotel. The room was disgusting, the bathroom was not clean, the beds had a cigarette hole in them, among many other things. On top of all of this, and worst of all, the customer service was ABSOLUTELY horrible. We dealt with Paolo at the front desk who was the laziest employee I have encountered. He had no compassion for us wanting to leave, he did not give 1 ounce of help when we asked to check out early, pay the first night and get refunded for the rest since we were no longer staying there. We had to pay in full and now I am sitting in a different hotel as I write this. Save yourself the money, stress, and time. Lisbon is beautiful, VIP BERNA IS THE WORST.

Rooms requires a bit of maintenance. Breakfast is not bad, but choice is small and food is the same every day, so after 2-3 days it makes you sick Generally its not bad, but it is not super-cheap either. Next time I would choose different option

Stayed for 3 nights, room was clean and room service cleaned the rooms every day. Staff was friendly and helpful. Bartender was helping out to cool and open wine bottles every day. Included breakfast were standard, scrambled eggs, bacon, beans and some cereal. And they were the same every day, so we get bored of it a bit. Worst part is WiFi, continuously disconnecting and barely usable.

First of all the are very very very old seems like you are in the 70's you can smell old wood. The breakfast was good like any other European breakfast. About the location it was very far from the city center although there was a metro station 2 mins away. Overall the service at the front desk, room keeping and breakfast was very good everyone was nice helpful and polite.

This is what can be called a standard for 3* hotel. Nice location, acceptable room and bed size, well furnished. Bathroom is in perfect condition. A/C was doing it's job. It was accidental stop for a few hours before airport and it seems like good fit for a price.

  • 1/5 Pablo F. M. 6 years ago on Google
Staff was polite. The place is noisy. Whatch out when you book a double room as you can end up in a twin room. The booking says double or twin. My fault not noticing but it's the first time I see something like this. Bad smelling in the room, damp. Asked for a room change and rejected. High price for what you get. They have convinced me not to recommend this place.

Awful hotel for a high price! We ordered a room with one king-size bed and got two small beds, lots of dust, really old air conditioner and no fridge. In addition, there is no sound isolation at all and you can hear what`s going on in the room next to you. Staff is very unprofessional and don`t provide any service at all. We had students living on our floor and they were partying till 4 AM causing much noise. When we asked hotel worker for help so we can at least sleep at night, she responded: "We warned their teacher but they just want to party. You need to wait for one more night and then they will check out". I was shocked. She just suggested me to have another sleepless night because they don`t give a f* about their guests.

Was I good Hotel in Lisbon. From my point of view it needs a quick "intervention" to restore the building to it's previous state. Great staff!

The friendly staff try hard to please. The breakfast at €7 should be passed over unless you're in a hurry. There doesn't appear to be any ventilation system other than open a window which was okay for us in February. As seems to be common in the lower end hotels in Portugal the bathrooms are small as are the tubs, the shower curtains get too friendly. Location is good for access to Lisbon sites by various public transit. The wallpaper is peeling yet the place seems acceptably clean. There is wifi in the room despite what website says

Food was excellent. Rooms are not looking new or cozy. TV was old and with only a few channels which were only portugiese. Bathroom didn’t have any places to put your things. Anyway, it was clean, quiet and the staff were always ready to help. It was not the comfiest hotel we have stayed at but it’s okay for one or two nights.

Great hotel to spend the night in Lisbon. I stayed there for 5 nights, and the stuff was friendly and very helpful. I highly recommended

Great location. Helpful and polite staff. The bedroom space from the bed to the window was fairly unexisting. The rusty dent on the bathtub was poorly covered with a rubber mat. Paper thin soundproof ceiling, the water rushing through the water pipes was a bit of an annoyance. They were under makeover and rebuilding works, hopefully that's not a problem anymore.
