It is like being at home with great views of the harbour and a super cute terrace on ground floor. Meticulous attention to detail and quality products in bedroom. Very comfy lobby and a great 'biblioteca' on third floor with sweeping views of the Harbour to spend afternoons, sunset and evenings. Staff are suoer nice and discreet at the same time. Coffee and tea available all day and the bar has a good selection. Am I coming back? Oh you bet. As soon as possible 🌴🌴🌴

Wonderful place. Made me feel very special on my 60th birthday. Sent Champagne to my room, recommended restaurants and even printed the menu for me. The decor is wonderful and the view from the room breathtaking. Stayed in many wonderful hotels in my time. This is one of the very best.

Absolute gorgeous hotel with a nice view of the bay. Great place to rest before heading out and in the middle of the city, close to everything. Personnel is absolutely fabulous.

Absolutely amazing experience! The staff is wonderful. They are very helpful, caring and kind. I did not manage to get time to boy some Portuguese wine and cheese and the hotel staff kindly offered me a bottle of whine and cheese (some of the best brands). I loved everything about the stay.

We had the most wonderful stay here for our honeymoon in June and I can't recommend As Janelas Verdes highly enough! We've travelled extensively and are a very discerning couple, but this hotel is one of the very best we've stayed in. A real gem. Quiet location, perhaps 2km from the city centre, there are quite a number of very pleasant bars and restaurants nearby. There is a bus service right outside the hotel or you can even catch the train from the nearby Santos station. The staff are fantastic and the reception staff very friendly and helpful. All speak excellent English. The hotel has the ambience of an opulent old-fashioned family home and our room was first-class. Breakfast was served in the courtyard, which was a great start to the day. But the highlight for us was the third floor library and roof terrace where we relaxed with a quiet drink from the honesty bar before going out for the evening. Lisbon is an absolute delight, but very hilly, so remember to pack a decent pair of trainers. Very much a foodie destination, we ate in the Club de Journalistas, a 10/15 minute walk from the hotel. It was simply divine, but popular so you'll have to book in advance. And no trip to Lisbon would be complete without a pilgrimage to the Estadio Nacional, home to Celtic's 1967 European Cup triumph over Inter Milan. Hail Hail Lisbon!

No restaurant on site. Very helpful staff. Coffee and tea at all hours really good. Self-serve bar on the third floor honor System. Complimentary bottle of port at check in.

Such a great, historic hotel with spacious, clean rooms. Front desk was very helpful and accommodating and breakfast was consistent and well stocked. Great view from the 3rd floor lounge. Location is quiet, out of the fray but still close enough to all.

We had a wonderful stay, what a charming place! The staff were extremely kind. And even though it’s a bit far from the city center it’s great if you enjoy walking around the city. The location felt safe and there are great restaurants within 10min walk or less, like Pastanaga.

A wonderful, warm, comfy, beautiful, romantic hotel. The location is maybe a 20 minute walk from the main touristy area, which is perfect for folks who want to feel a little more of the "real" Lisbon while still having easy access to most of the city. Gorgeous rooms and public spaces. Fantastic breakfast. Friendly staff. We would come back in a heartbeat.

Charming historic hotel in Santo area with possibility of parking your car in the garage. Rooms with river view or city view. Lovely outside terrace for breakfast in the summer. On 3rd floor salon with terrace and nice views on the Tejo. Very friendly and attentive service, reasonnable prices and big room. Historic value with romantic writer Eça de Queiroz who resided there. Definitely be back.

My wife and I stayed here for 9 days on our honeymoon. From the moment we checked in, to the moment we left we could not get over how amazing the hotel was. The staff were so helpful and friendly and our room was great. Every day the staff would clean it and leave a fresh bottle of port in the room! Every morning we would go down for breakfast in their beautiful patio area and the food was always incredible. The hotel itself is situated in such a great location, you are always less then a 15-20 min walk from a local attraction, plus with all the bus routes and trains nearby it really is ideally located for everything. If we ever go back to Lisbon this will be the only hotel we will stay at, and we will be recommending this place to all our friends and family. Thank you to As Janelas Verdes for making our honeymoon great!

A lovely hotel!! Don't let the street appearance deceive you, once inside you will be amazed. Rooms are delightful, and the common areas are gorgeous. The breakfast in the courtyard is fantastic as is the location, and the 3rd floor library/veranda is so peaceful and beautiful

What a wonderful hotel to stay for our last days of our family trip in amazing Portugal. Great idea not to renovate it (except of course for what was needed) but to keep its original grand house style and welcome us to a time of elegance. My kids adored it. So sad we just were able to spend two days there. The details on the rooms were beautiful. Laced satchel bags for the toilet paper and JV initials everywhere, from the umbrellas to the shower curtain. Extraordinary service and relax environment. When my travel agent booked this hotel for us, she said it was a four star hotel, it felt like a five. Love it.

We loved this hotel and wish I could rate it 5 stars but sadly I suffered from back pain because of a very soft bed. Everything else was fantastic: friendly staff, great breakfast, amazing decoration with artistic touch, great choices of drinks and snack (free or charged) , amazing location near the river with a great view, rooms comfy except for my bed. It took me 10 days to recover from my back pain. One suggestion: perhaps advertise your food services better. I didn’t know they served lunch until I saw them serving a very nice sandwich to a gentleman at the library. Final comment: my parents also loved this place and my father’s comment was that it felt like home being there

Old school hotel with tons of charm and quirkiness. Clean and quiet, super comfortable and great location. The bar is swell but small and you need to get up there early to have a nice view.

To Go or Not To Go: Go but there’s a caveat: This beautiful and charming 18th century townhouse is not located where you can walk to a lot of different restaurants etc, we took uber every single time we went out. Having said that the service is incredible, the inside of the hotel is spacious and just stunning. There is a third floor library and terrace where you can get lost and hang out. There are two thoughtful different spots where you can grab a juice or a drink (and charge to your room honor system), and one spot where they always have water, coffee, tea and snacks for free. The breakfast buffet starts at 7:30am and goes until noon so you can sleep in! It is delicious and weather permitting it is served in the outside courtyard which is just lovely. Our room was adequately spacious (larger than most rooms we had stayed at). You will love this beautiful boutique hotel!

A lovely hotel near the city centre. The staff are amazing and made us feel welcome from our arrival. There's a lovely library bar on the top floor with nice views of the Tagus. It's super clean and quiet. Breakfast is served in the garden. Don't leave it until 12 midday if you want to get the pastries. We'll be back.

Very nice historic hotel. Richly restores with antique period pieces. Good location for the historical district. Tram stations and bus stops close by. Highly recommended.

This is one of the nicest boutique hotels we have stayed in. A genuine homely feel with attentive service and little touches that we really enjoyed. The private rear courtyard offers an outdoor space for coffee in the fresh air. The upstairs library with self-service bar feels wonderfully quiet and relaxed. That opens directly to a terrace with views towards the estuary. The complimentary carafe of port in the room was unexpected, but we do love a drop of port. Courtesy cakes, coffee and tea are available all day if you like to hang around the hotel. We walked from the hotel into the centre of Lisbon, but if you don't like walking then there is a bus stop just outside. Alternatively, grabbing a taxi / uber is easy and should take around 10 minutes to get into the centre of town. You can grab a map from reception that should be good enough to pick out the major sights of Lisbon. We walked from the hotel to the ferry so that we could skip across to see the Christo Rei in Almada. The easiest way to get to the port in Almada to Christo Rei is by bus, but any Lisbon public transport pass won't be valid in Almada. That said, a bus ticket is as cheap as chips anyhow. If we ever visit Lisbon again we'll definitely come back to the As Janelas Verdes hotel. Clean, comfy and homely.

Beautiful hotel! Full of history and charm. Very comfortable and relaxed atmosphere, with an abundance of public space to relax. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. It felt like visiting someone's home, rather than staying at a hotel. I stayed in a suite, which was quite large, with a partial view of the river. It was a very comfortable and clean room. Breakfast was a buffet with a variety of options. There are hot and cold drinks available on various floors 24 hours per day. Also, the garden area is delightful, with 24 hour access. I especially liked this feature, because sometimes I want to sit outside with a cup of tea at 3am. I've stayed at other hotels that lock their patio/garden between 9pm-midnight. I will definitely stay here again.

Lovely rooms with views of the river and red rooftops. The bathrooms to the rooms are done with gorgeous Portuguese tile and high end soaps, robes and towels. The library is beautiful and comfortable for reading and relaxing and the terrace is very nice as well as the patio for breakfast. Internet works well (we had some work and school Zooms over vacation). The staff and manager are so friendly and helped us figure out the transportation and printed a doc for us etc. We would definitely come back again. Our kids (11 and 13) and we loved staying here! Wonderful for couples or families.

The staff in this excellent hotel was really great. Super friendly, fast, and helpful. We enjoyed our stay a lot - spending the afternoon on the sunny roof top with coffe and mouth watering pastries, having breakfast in the garden and relaxing in the comfortable room. As we arrived during the week in January it seemed that for one day we were the only guests. Nevertheless we could rely on the full service and weren’t missing anything. Location is superb - we reached all the sights very easily by foot. Nice restaurants nearby.

A nice hotel with good service. Had a room on third floor with view over the harbur. Also good transport connections (buses) to reach both Lisboa inner city and reach Cascais (train) via Cais do Sodre.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful. The interior decoration is very unique and special and has a wonderful feeling to it. The staff were incredible. They were very kind and welcoming during check in and super helpful with restaurant recommendations. Beautiful. The AC worked great too. The breakfast area was stunning. Note that this hotel is a bit further away from the main tourist zones, which can be nice as the streets near it are more calm and empty. But it does mean more walking if you want to be around these zones.
