What a wonderful experience! That was one of the best seafood dishes we've ever tried. Portuguese taste was on our plates with every dish we've ordered. The wine was perfect so as the cold beer and desserts. Our waiter Prabhat was very helpful and advised us a lot of the best dishes.

Had a nice experience for our anniversary dinner. The sangria really impressed us. We had both the red and white because they taste so good. The seafood soup is cream based. The two bacalao dishes were good. Traditional. Be careful with the fish it does have bones! We enjoyed conversation with our waiter from Nepal. Very nice gentleman. The atmosphere is family friendly.

it was a great experience! The food is super good, not too expensive. Typical Portuguese dishes with a truly authentic atmosphere! The waiter Prabhat was super friendly and professional, he took the time to explain the dishes to us in detail, always with remarkable kindness! I highly recommend this restaurant which deserves its rating and reviews!

O Bessa in Lisbon is worth visiting. I ordered the cod fish with vegetables and potatoes. The portion is big enough for one person. It is salty, but delicious. The potatoes are nice. The house wine is good to go with the cod fish. The service is fine. I visited the restaurant at around 10 am, so it wasn't crowded. I like the atmosphere of the restaurant.

Not really sure what the hype is? Food is good but not mind blowing. We were directed here after trying to sit at its more busy sibling restaurant. I liked the black seafood paella, but there was not the crispy rice on the bottom as I expect with typical paellas. The normal seafood paella was a little bland and had really salty parts throughout. Soup of the day was delicious (as is all soup).

The place was clean, and they had excellent food and service. We ordered the clams, olives, bread, and mixed paella. Everything was delicious. Our waitress Sapna was very nice and very patient with my husband while trying to decide what to order. Also, she made sure to ask if anyone has any allergies. We will definitely recommend this place to all our friends and family who are going to visit Lisbon.

This restaurant was our best choice for 5 days and 4 nights. Honestly recommend the codfish, seafood rice, and the daily soup (the staff said it was a vegetable soup, but it had a nice onion flavour). The price was very cheap and the cherry wine was very good. Everything was great, we had a great time!

The food was delicious here, and the service warm and helpful. Great location. There did not appear to be an outdoor dining option (in March anyways). Nice decor. We had a bottle of red, the Cartuxa EA which was good. Ordered the bread basket and olives (both good) and shared the Paella Negra (very good, it was not large but adequate, with two small mussels, two tiny clams, 2 or 3 medium shrimp/prawns, and only two thin slices of squid — a bit light to us but the ink sauce / flavoring was super tasty), and the Bacalhau à Brás - Codfish "Brás Style" which to me was worth flying here from Seattle, just so yummy and simple. The portions were just right for two people to feel pretty full. We ate at 14:00 which was a slow time of day for this place. Our patient server spoke very good English which was helpful to us on our first ever day in Portugal. At the end of the meal we were each warmly served a complimentary shot of homemade cherry liqueur which was so good. Gosh we wish this place was near us back home. Probably we will come back here to try some more items. Total bill was about $60 US. So glad we found this place.

A truly delicious and phenomenal dining experience! From the dishes to the service to the ambiance. I visited from California back in November 2023 and this entire experience was nothing short of amazing. Food: I ordered the garlic clams as a starter and the seafood "stew" as a main. The clams were plentiful and cooked in a white wine sauce with garlic and lemon. The seafood stew (which is one of their more popular main dishes), was a hearty dish with mussels, shrimp, squid, clams - mixed with rice and a savory red sauce that was packed with rich, flavor that balanced so well with the seafood. Both dishes did not skimp in terms of portion and the seafood quality was fresh; the sauces made perfect to each dish. Service: I believe my server was Krishna - she was extremely kind, warm, and informative! And she recommended the seafood "stew." The entire staff was extremely friendly. I would definitely recommend this to friends or family visiting Lisbon - a must go-to spot for an amazing price.

We ordered 3 dishes for two people: bacalhau a bras was tasty; seafood rice was decent; octopus was tender but its sauce was rather greasy. Portion size was great. Our server, Youzin, was very friendly. The service was efficient and wonderful in general. To sum up, it was not a bad find in an area full of tourist traps. The vibe was homey and casual, but the toilet really needs better maintenance, I couldn't use it.

The restaurant is a bit hidden from the main streets, which means it's far away from the tourist traps. The owner was really friendly. The atmosphere was inviting and the service is excellent! My waiter Prabhat explained the local cuisines really well and made sure my requests were fulfilled. He was absolutely friendly too! The food was top notched. We had the Black Paella, Octopus and the Seabass. The food was well priced too! Definitely recommended

Best dinner we've had in Lisbon. Great location right off a main square and lives up to the rating. Prabhat gave us excellent service - recommended the octopus, which was the best I've had in years. Will likely go back again on this trip - the dinner we had elsewhere last night made us miss Bessa and the other menu items we want to try!

Highly recommend this place! We ate grilled octopus and creamy cod. The food was amazing. Octopus was soft and cod was harmonious:) Especailly our kind server Krishna made our experience adorable. She was so kind and did her best for us to feel comfortable. I want to try other foods as well!

I strongly recommend this restaurant. Octopus rice, octopus steak, and caramel mousse are very nice. Especially, the staff member ‘Prabhat’ is really kind and nice. He explained the food to us in detail and recommended wine, and the wine was fantastic!! I enjoyed the happy meal thanks to the staff member. Thank you for welcoming us kindly :)👍

Amazing experience in this restaurant where the staff has welcomed us in the best way ever. The lady who server us was really kind and well prepared about food and wine. We had traditional food and it was perfectly cooked and presented and moreover they offered a typical liqueur made of cherries . It really deserves a visit.
